Most things were easy to find with Syliras because the entire city was filled with knights. The wonderful knights. He hated the lot of them. No particular reason except for maybe the fact that they got mostly everything for free. His eyes narrowed at the nearest one and he strode past briskly, bar of soap in hand and approached the desk inside the Soothing Waters.

“Hello there. What can I help you with?”

“A bath.”

“Will you be needing a towel or soap?”

“Are you blind?” he held up his soap, “Just a towel.”

The man didn’t so much as flinch, “Two silver miza and one copper, the men’s locker is on the right.”

“Are the lockers coed?”

“No.”

He stared at the man for a few moments, “I’ll be using the woman’s side then.”

“Sir, it—“

“My eyes and hands wander, so unless you plan to find a body in your precious pool I’ll be going to woman’s locker.”

The man seemed entirely unsurprised or even much of anything, he kept the same plastered good natured smile on his face and pointed to the left, giving him the prices and informing him he pays up front. A scowl on his face Solamon slapped enough coins for his bath and a towel before sweeping down the left hall. No one actually looked at him, at least not closely and he had nothing save for his clothes and an extra silver miza.

But once he folded his clothes and had the towel around his waist he heard an offended noise and turned to the woman with a smirk and a finger wave before walking out towards the bath. Already he would have rather bathed inside a river or a lake.

Receipt :
Deduct 2SM for bath and 1CM for towel from ledger.

[Soothing Waters]All the Fish in the Sea[Qist]

Postby Qist Tiere on September 11th, 2012, 4:47 pm

It seemed as though all the days were getting shorter. Wake up, hunt, eat, drink then sleep. That's all Qist felt she was getting done, and, to her, it wasn't enough. It made her feel lazy, useless. With her recent wrist injury, too, this was all the more true. The redhead peered down at the appendage, watching it twitch slightly. Even after Orion's excellent repair job on it, her wrist had yet to be able to fully extend. Instead, it just sat there, twitching; it was as if it was mocking her. And such mocking did bad in the javelin-throwing business.

But hunting and javelin throwing was not her business today. No, today Qist seeked to expand the length of the day. She'd heard of a bathhouse within the castle's walls, and figured that a visit wouldn't hurt. Besides, by now she had probably built up a less-than-lovely smell, which surely would include the stench of the forest as well as the tavern.

Walking into the bathhouse, Qist felt almost immediately out of place. It was far too clean here. It was clean, and its smell responded in kind. The overwhelming scent of bath water and soap burnt her nose, causing the mixed blood to flinch. "First time to the bathhouse?" Her eyes met a man behind a desk. He smiled, though the smile seemed to be more robotic than anything. Nodding, she approached. "A bath, please." Because you need it. "No one asked you." She muttered, thus recieving a awkward glance from the attendant. "Nothing, nothing." Waving her hand, the midget--er, fun-sized woman dropped the required amount of mizas onto the desk, collected her purchases and swiftly strode over to the lockers.

As she entered, she noted a few of the other ladies inside the lockers flinched, sighing in relief about something. Qist took a locker, over hearing two women talking about a man who had just exited these lockers. Qist smirked. It's going to be that sort of day, then? More glances were directed her way as she let more skin show. The redhead could practically hear the others counting the tattoos in their heads... 1, 2, 3, 4! Oh, how taboo. Finishing, she lifted her clothes and dropped them into a locker. There was no lock, which didn't bother Qist at all. Honestly, what would anyone steal from her? A pile of dirt?

A towel wrapped loosely around her body, the Inartan whisked out into the pool area. Her eyes scanned the bath, disregarding the overzealous couples and unsightly bodies. Finding a empty corner, Qi slipped the white towel off and slid into the warm waters. Her body instantly reacted, tensing as the sudden temperature change took it by surprise. After a few moments, though, she had grown used to the water. She leaned back, having already decided that this was, indeed, better than bathing inside a river or lake.

He had found himself a corner, a comfortable corner. And then the couple had gone to the corner. It had been fine at first, they were much more uncomfortable than he, he seen bodies although the time (though generally without a pulse). But obviously they weren’t into voyeurism or else they wouldn’t be trying to have sex in a public bath house. Oh wait. Nope, they were. They just weren’t used to people openly gawking because they glared at him like he had walked into their apartment and took notes.

“If you want people to stare you could always make a booth, I’m sure you’d be rich by the end of the week.”

Having thoroughly annoyed the couple or at least dampened their mood for the moment he looked for another corner. Or empty spot. No such luck. Sighing he looked at the emptier options. A fat bald man who looked less pleasant than he was, a desperate woman, children and a red head. The red-head looked fairly normal and packing up his soap and towel he wandered over to her corner, slipping into the water with a small flinch and not so much as an ‘excuse me’.

Solamon sank into the water entirely and came up blinking, shaking his hair out and hearing the mutters as it splashed the others. The could always move. Turning away he found himself facing the woman directly. She was interesting, kind of tiny for a full grown person if you asked him but her tattoos were interesting. He wondered how they would taste…bad thoughts. “Interesting marks. How much did they cost?”

As she settled into her corner, the redhead tried to identify the man that had caused a scene in the locker room. Her eyes lazily scanned the water's surface, momentarily stopping at each distruption. Too young. Too old. Too ugly. Too...er, everything. She quickly redirected her foggy eyes away from a man who was disproportionate in every aspect possible; he most definately wasn't the culprit, seeing as someone so unsightly couldn't be so confident as to wander into a room dedicated to changing women. Now, she peered at what seemed to be a group of children. She raised a disapproving eyebrow. Unless they, too, happened to be extraordinarily short for their age, then they, by Qi's standards, were far to young to be inside a house full of bare adults.

Just as she was about to call to the youths, a nearby splash demanded her attention. Qist turned her head to see a man slide in next to her. After rising, he shook out his hair, which desperately needed a serious cut, while simultaenously bothering their neighbors. He didn't exhibit any sign of regret, or any care as to what any of the company around them thought. The right side of the Inartan's lips rose in a smirk; I think we have a winner. The man already had her attention, so his question recieved a quick response. "An arm and a leg." Directing her eyes to the largest of the lot, Qist outlined the foilage depicted with her right pointer finger. "This one, though, was something more like two legs and a wrist."

Clearly the mixed blood wasn't taking this conversation all too seriously. But what could she say? He approached her, and she was feeling rather affront today. Worse, she felt spirited and playful. Playfullness and aspersion, surely a dangerous combination. Sadly, this man was to get the blunt of such a grouping; he was now her chosen opponent in whatever battle of wits that would ensue.

“You were given a great deal, that way when you are old the ink won't reach to your legs.” There was a distinct meaning in his words and the glint in his eye said he knew exactly the way it sounded. Ignoring her for a moment he reached for his soap, using the gloves to work up a good lather and beginning to purposely scrub his hair. But from the corner of his eye he watched the woman carefully.

Solamon wasn’t one to mince words but he had contemplated a tattoo himself. But honestly considering her exaggeration of the price he doubted it was within his range. Still his eyes roved over to the young woman and the man that watched her. She and every other unaccompanied woman. Leering he watched the man until said man looked away, clearly uncomfortable. Feeling conversational and enjoying the water he spoke to the woman again, “Do they have any meaning?”

He had only been there a few days. Retrieving his soap again, he sank back into the water to relax. Enjoy the feeling of being clean for the first time in days. Thankfully his clothes had taken most of the dirt or else he would have been here every day since he arrived. But the more he thought about it the more he wanted to hurry, obviously the other people were here for the same reason. His nose wrinkled in distaste and he lazily began to scrub his arms.

"Pity. I was looking forward to having ink smears all up and down my legs." She paused, watching a teen girl strut by, complaining indignantly about the running price of silk ball dresses. Instantaneously, her brain thought of a harsh jest. Her voice mimicked that of a spoiled, idiotic adolescent female she had just seen pass by as she spoke. "Like, it would so match my dress." As the teen looked back, Qi smiled cordially and waved. Teach you, twit. By the redhead's standards, if the girl wanted to walk into a bathhouse full of middle-to-lower class Sylirans and complain about the riches her family held, she deserved to be staked; rude jests, however, would suit the Inartan fine.

She centered her body, this time thinking more seriously about what her company had said. "When you are old." Even if she could grow old, Qi knew she wouldn't want to. She led a lonely, repeatative life. She hoped that, if her melancholy continued, someone'd kill her before she got up there in age.

A smirk tugged at one end of her mouth as her mind did a round-robin, returning her attention to the man. He was full of spunk, that was for sure.
He's biting, speaks his mind, and is overly self-assured...if I didn't know better, then I'd say he was Inartan. "But you know better than that." She mumbled dejectedly, a bit insulted her hallucination would caterogize her in the same group as the sad man next to her. I suppose. She nodded, letting a "mhmm" slip through her closed lips. At that moment, she was too relaxed to start an arguement with it. Besides, there were too many people here; she'd surely become more of a scene than the romping couples.

Looking over at the long-haired man beside her, Qi shrugged. "Not most of them." She raised her left wrist out from under the water, resting it on the wall next to her. "This one has more of an after-thought meaning, though." It was true. At first, she had just gotten the tattoo done on an whim. As she thought about it more and more afterwards, though, she found that each little bird was a disappointment in her life. They each represented a shattered relationship, a lost dream. She outlined the largest bird, imagining it fluttering away while holding a small case full of one hope. How dismal...

"What about you, Mister Moxie?" She broke from her train of thought, nodding towards its new center of attention. "Any chosen imperfections on your part?"

“Since you don’t have a reason you basically scarred your body to make it look interesting? How…interesting.” There was obvious sarcasm in his words but he didn’t bother to mince them, this woman was obviously not one to mince her own. And he was more preoccupied with rubbing his skin raw. “Mister Moxie? And I suppose that makes you Miss Sunshine, right?”

Solamon snorted lightly and moved onto his other arm, splashing away another bather who got too close to him. There enough people here as if was, they didn’t need to actually touch. If it wasn’t for the warmth he would almost say he missed bathing in cool rain water and frigid lakes. It was also nice to have people willing to assist or they were just pathetically desperate for tips. “Imperfections? Me? Unlikely and none that I need admit too.”

“Now, since you look so relaxed how about we make use of this conversation, you wash my back and I’ll wash yours.”

It was more of a demand than a request but he seen no reason why he should be denied. The woman held no interest for him besides becoming his new back scrubber. It was always ridiculously hard to scrub your own back. However, he was not the only one to ask and Solamon raised a brow as a young man approached the red head.

“Or you could just help me wash.”

“I doubt she’s your type though I would gladly be yours in her place.” He said it with a leer but there was no intent in his eyes and he smirked as the man gave him a disgusted look and stalked off to bug another woman. The look gave Solamon great satisfaction and without actually waiting for her consent he moved toward the young woman.
