Building Your Dream Home
Hello fellow Spirians! This thread is here for the purpose of letting you know as a player how the housing system works here in the treetop city. As you all know, the Djed Storm destroyed much of the housing district in the Spires, so all homes are having to be rebuilt as part of getting the Spires back on it's feet. So what does that mean for the players? Well, this is where you can let your creativity shine!
This system has been set up to allow players to earn some new skills and let you get a home for a cheaper price if you are willing to put in the time and effort. So, lets see a rundown of what you would need to do. What is the first step?
Step One:
First, there are 3 places that you could potentially have a home.
-The Petal of the Timid Cougar - This petal contains cheap housing that anyone can buy/build and is where most of the citizens reside.
-The Petal of the Climbing Snake - This petal contains that are more expensive and are using primarily for families and wealthier citizens seeing as they are larger. These homes can also be bought/built.
-The Petal of the Watching Owl - These homes are not available for purchase, and are only given to those that have been deemed worthy through their actions. (Meaning these can be given out in a modded thread.)
So first things first is to decide where it would best for your PC to live? Have they earned their way to have a home on the Watching Owl or is your PC looking to start a family? Or are you just looking for a place to lay your head at night? The answer is entirely up to you. Once that is decided, we move on to Step Two.
Step Two:
How much are you willing to pay for your home? This is where threads come in. You can do building threads to get your home at a cheaper price! So what does this mean? Well, your PC can actively help Sharai or Araisha and their teams build a home of your own, meaning these are a lot like job threads. The actions can be self moderated, but I have a few requirements that I ask for:
-You must actively be involved in the building process, no just sitting around and giving orders in the threads.
-Show me some creativity. The Jamouras that run these petals view homes as a work of art, a reflection of one's soul. Put some effort into showing that in your threads.
-Have fun while doing it. This is a chance for you to flex your creative wings, so be spunky and fun!
Not so hard right? Well, lets get a rundown of how the homes in the Spires work and what they look like. First of all, no two homes in the Spires will ever look alike, seeing as every individual is different. They are all shaped oddly, like abstract pieces of art you might say. They are also all fitted together like large puzzle boxes, meaning that all the pieces of your home will interlock together, hammers and nails are not used in their construction. A sticky resin glue is used to seal all the pieces together, and dries quite hard and is waterproof, so there are no worries about your home falling apart. Please keep all of this in mind when writing these threads, and if you don't have any skill in construction, that's okay! The Jamouras and their teams are there to help you, so you don't have to do it all on your own! Now, let's get down to prices.
Step Three:
Once you have decided where the best place for your PC to be, all you have to do is post to the Petal of the Timid Cougar or The Petal of the Climbing Snake and give me an overview of what you are doing. Please keep in mind that you don't have to do any of the threads, you can still pay the standard 500gm for a standard home, or 1000gm for a larger home. The choice is up to you! Here is an example of what I would like to see on each petal:

Step Four:
Now once all of that has been completed, I want to see a short write up of your home! It doesn't have to be long at all, just a paragraph or two about your home and a picture of it to be submitted to the suggestion box which will then be added here so people can come and visit you! If you choose not to do the threads, then I would still like to see a write up of your home so that players can still come and visit. Remember to be creative and spunky, because this is a reflection of your PC! Also, all homes are yours permanently, so they will always be in the Spires should your PC decide to travel.
Now, a few last notes. Please know that any sort of home that is on The Petal of the Watching Owl must be earned through moderation. So if you wish for a home there, please PM me and we will work out the details for that. All threads that are written up do not have to be terribly long, ten posts at a max and three to four posts at a minimum. And as always, if you have any questions or concerns then please don't hesitate to PM about any of it! |
