Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

Corpus could feel the wind pick up, it was a stronger wind then normal. More forceful as it pushed the Nuit's body and sled down the sloping street. The old being did his best to stop the sled's movement, pulling it in a zig-zag pattern, but unfortunately all that did was cause the poor Nuit's sled to flip over and drag around on it's topside. Which wasn't very productive to say the least.

Watching the shingles of the local small businesses flipping violently in the gusts only accented the troubling feelings that Corpus current had. It reminded him of a time long since past that changed the face of the world as people knew it.

The thunder echoing overhead was only the beginning of what Corpus felt was going to be Hell On Earth once again. Then came the downpour that ended what would've been a wonderful day for Corpus. It just kept coming down harder and harder.

No... No this can't be happening... Not again. Can't the gods just leave us well alone?

Well, his question was soon answered as lightening arched across the sky and screaming erupted from a nearby building. The lightening apparently struck close enough to scare some people, or the building's roof was caught ablaze. Whatever the case was Corpus was more worried about getting into shelter. His feeble residence was not far away, just up this very street a little more.

The wind was picking up more and Corpus's sled was starting to lift off the ground, causing more struggling dragging it along, soon the ancient nuit felt that the sled was going to be pulling him along instead.

Luckily though, Corpus made it into his home, sled intact, without too much more trouble. Drenched completely to the bone and therefore irritable, but safe. For now.

Corpus looked out the window, the world outside was dark... Far too dark for comfort. He could hear the wind not just howling, but literally screaming through the flora outside. When the lightening struck flashes in the air he could actually smell the ozone burning and what flora was actually ripped from the saturated ground being whipped around like it was nothing.

The world was falling apart around his ears...

15 Days before the Valterrian

… And All Hell was Breaking Loose

Corpus hid behind the remains of what he could only imagine was a building of sorts. The functionality didn't matter to the newly created Nuit, it was the mediocre safety it gave him from the destructive winds and if he was lucky it would keep him from being seen by the raging mobs running around the streets of Alvadas.

The rain was coming down in buckets and it was actually hurting. Coming down as hard as it was. Covering his head meekly with his cloak the Nuit started off to the next hiding spot he could hardly see in the gloom. Only when the lightening arched across the sky could he see it clearly. Only have to stop momentarily to allow his eyes to regain focus. It was unnerving. He could see the wavering flames of torches all over, screams and cackles echoing off the buildings and remains only accenting the terrifying situation he was currently in.

All this destruction and chaotic emotions and all this only started a few hours ago. Only a few hours of this horrid weather and people were already acting insanely crazy! It was disturbingly dangerous for the nuit to be out here. He was almost home, it was right there! He could see the derelict building before him. It was right there! Right bloody freaking there! All he had to do was get inside on the other end of the threshold and actually shut the door against this horrid torrent of rain, noise, and wind.

After several more running and stopping movements to ruined wall and trees that weren't uprooted Corpus actually made it into his house and the door shut behind him. A sad looking couch that would never see past this world altering storm propped against it.

Now to just keep safe...

...At least as safe as I could... Nearly lost my life I did.

Corpus shuddered as he remembered that the couch gave way that night, nearly crushing him against the wall. Luckily the bed he owned at the time was against a different wall. The couch, if he recalled correctly, crashed against the wall, pinning him under it's weight for a few seconds before the couch tore apart and released it's clutches.

The storm outside was rattling the windows, the roof was leaking pretty badly, but not enough to really cause much trouble currently... Corpus could only imagine what he would do now if the roof caved in on him. Probably kill him. Right now though it was just sputtering rain against the already horrid floor and what remained of his possessions.

People were still causing some commotion, but city officials have managed to keep it pretty well under control it seemed, the world wasn't as bad as it was before... People were still panicking but they weren't rioting... Were they?

The roof... It was still intact, not gushing water like before. Definitely not like before...

That was a flood...

The Sky Is Falling [Solo]

7 Day before the Valterrian

… In his house.

It was dreadful, having to deal with over a foot of water in his small little shack. Outside the world was coming to pieces and Corpus could hear the bloody screams of pain and torture. That was the out there though, this was in here!

Corpus knew this body was already dead, so the coldness he felt wasn't exactly threatening, he knew he could just go outside and find another body it was easy enough. He knew the process enough to get a body. Right now though, the rain was coming down horridly in the ugly gaping tear in his roof. It was depressing, but that would explain the future resulting mold and decay.

Corpus really didn't have a way to stop the rain from falling in, at least not yet, all he could do currently was stay out of the torrential water fall currently. The screams were louder now though, almost as if they were right outside his door. The next sound nearly caused him to become ill. It was the sound of ripping material, maniacal hysterical laughing, and high pitched screams of plea and agony. The sounds continued for some time, they were horrid, but Corpus wasn't going to intervene, it was a dog-eat-dog world currently and Corpus was the bone.

The rain let up a little bit, the Nuit knew he didn't have much to protect him and he hoped this wasn't going to last much longer. This current body was beginning to get water logged and soggy human flesh was highly irritating in an itchy clammy way.

That was the least of his worries though...

...His biggest worry he had was staying alive and getting things done. Too much chaos out there.

The Nuit shuddered and looked out the window. All he saw was darkness, accented by the occasionally flash of lightning that only fueled his fear that the world was ending. The rain that was falling made the current actions appear like grainy film, but that only made it feel like a faded memory to the Nuit. All holey and blotchy.

But the past was the past and today was... Well... Now. And now was scary enough. The hell outside was just going to get worse, the ancient being had a feeling of that. There was no water currently rushing into his abode, luckily enough the rain wasn't hard enough. It was coming in as sporadic drips and drops. Got to remember to patch up the roof once again... Been a while I guess.

The Nuit wandered into the back room, which was really a dingy little kitchen type deal and looked around it. Bare, as usual.

Once again, he was alone. In his worn down shack of a house and it was eerily like the past.

If only the past would leave him alone...

The Sky Is Falling [Solo]

3 Days before the Valterrian

The world was shrouded in constant darkness. The screaming and blood curdling horrors the broke through the falling rain, thunder, and lightening were finally gone, replaced instead with the methodical lock down of the city and it's inhabitants. Military forces were keeping the citizens in strict order. There was the methodical times of someone preaching the end. But the heavens only know that answer.

Corpus, meanwhile, needed to get out of his hellhole of a home and out on the streets to a more drier location and possible a better body. This one was soggy and sick, nose sniffling and sneezing. Throat raw, his vision blurred. It felt like his body was baking from the inside outward, only a matter of time before the Nuit was succumb to the body and not come back. That can not happen!

He pushed himself harder to remove the barricade before his door and took to the perpetual dark, circumventing the busier and more military frequent streets to get to a small mausoleum within the graveyard. It was a small granite structure that probably wouldn't be around much longer, but the Nuit knew it was drier by far. The door never was opened until he wedged his hammer and spade into place and applied leverage to it. The door creaked open, stale air rushed out, engulfing the fledgling undead as he slipped into its dark interior and forced the door shut.

Several minutes later and the Nuit could see again, granted blurry and delirious. But he could see. Soon enough he was fumbling with the sarcophagus in the ante-chamber.

It was nearly an hour before the Nuit had the stone top torn from it's base and the contents revealed. A preserved young male of some rich family, judging by the clothing. Good enough. Poor taste though.

And once again, he started the ritual...

Corpus sighed, the ritual didn't nearly get completed as he recalls the situation. The body was so feverish and stricken from staying in the watery depths of his house. It was completed though, luckily enough else he wouldn't be reliving it in his mind huh?

The Nuit looked back outside and sighed, “Better go seek others that need help... Or maybe a better location to reside in for the time being...” So off the Nuit went, today though was a lot different than before. The darkness now was nothing compared to the darkness of the Valterrian. And the hellish sound of military marching was nowhere within ear shot.

He made his way to the graveyard, trying to find a better more comfortable place to reside in. Of course, he found a granite building with a nicely made up front entry way that wasn't open to the elements and so Corpus positioned himself inside the entry way without going farther into the sacred location beyond. He remembered the last time he violated the sacredness of a mortal's resting place a young man damn near killed him. Corpus sighed and rested against the wall.

“I am getting far too old for this crap.”
