1st of Spring 512AV
Corpus could feel the wind pick up, it was a stronger wind then normal. More forceful as it pushed the Nuit's body and sled down the sloping street. The old being did his best to stop the sled's movement, pulling it in a zig-zag pattern, but unfortunately all that did was cause the poor Nuit's sled to flip over and drag around on it's topside. Which wasn't very productive to say the least.
Watching the shingles of the local small businesses flipping violently in the gusts only accented the troubling feelings that Corpus current had. It reminded him of a time long since past that changed the face of the world as people knew it.
The thunder echoing overhead was only the beginning of what Corpus felt was going to be Hell On Earth once again. Then came the downpour that ended what would've been a wonderful day for Corpus. It just kept coming down harder and harder.
No... No this can't be happening... Not again. Can't the gods just leave us well alone?
Well, his question was soon answered as lightening arched across the sky and screaming erupted from a nearby building. The lightening apparently struck close enough to scare some people, or the building's roof was caught ablaze. Whatever the case was Corpus was more worried about getting into shelter. His feeble residence was not far away, just up this very street a little more.
The wind was picking up more and Corpus's sled was starting to lift off the ground, causing more struggling dragging it along, soon the ancient nuit felt that the sled was going to be pulling him along instead.
Luckily though, Corpus made it into his home, sled intact, without too much more trouble. Drenched completely to the bone and therefore irritable, but safe. For now.
Corpus looked out the window, the world outside was dark... Far too dark for comfort. He could hear the wind not just howling, but literally screaming through the flora outside. When the lightening struck flashes in the air he could actually smell the ozone burning and what flora was actually ripped from the saturated ground being whipped around like it was nothing.
The world was falling apart around his ears...
