Kaidan Arianos The Budding Botanist Race: Human Birthdate: 32 Spring, 493, Age 19 Gender: Male Physical Appearance Standing at about 5'11", Kaidan weighs about 155 pounds. He bears black hair, and has an angular chin, with deep brown eyes. He's usually wearing comfortable clothing, nothing to fancy, or fashionable. Character Concept Having lived in Zeltiva, he often would find himself in the university there, whether he was old enough or not. Reading books was his life for the moment, and gaining knowledge that satiated his thirsts. He always was ready for more scrolls or pamphlets containing the knowledge he sought, ways of preserving life, and ways of helping others. Skilled in the knowledge of shielding, he learned from his mother at a young age, he only knows how to use it to protect people, as it's a purely defensive skill. He also learned Reimancy from his now deceased father. Indoctrined into the arts of reimancy at a young age as well, he attuned to the essence of water. Though not at proficient in it as he was in shielding, he would always strive to become better. Character History A student at the university in Zeltiva, Kaidan wished to learn as much as possible. He was fairly new to the university, having studied under his parents for a better portion of his life, but he wanted to learn the theory behind shielding, and increase his knowledge of Botany. That was his chosen field of study within the university. His father died when he was only fourteen years of age, and his spent the last five years taking care of his mother whom was broken hearted over his father's death. Kaidan looked to his mother for support, but ended up fending for himself and her most of the time. Upon joining the university, Kaidan hoped that his life would take a turn for the better. How soon he should see this, would be depending on the effort that he put into it. He knew he could build a new life for himself and his mother, but the bigger question was, did he want to include the broken-hearted woman in it. Yes, was what he told himself most of the time, wanting to include her as much as possible, in an effort to hope that she didn't pass like his father had done. What is your height? 5'11" 5. What is your weight? 155 lbs Aesthetics : 1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. I feel as though i'm just a normal looking person with no extraordinary features. 2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. Others see me as a handsome man. 3. What is your favorite body feature? Definitely my hair. 4. How physically fit are you? Fairly physically fit, lean and muscular. 5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? I enjoy dressing in nicer clothing, though they tend to get ruined a lot when i'm out in the field working on botany projects. Family : 1. Who are your parents and what are they like? I have a mother who's still alive, and she's pretty depressing right now, and has been since her husband (My father) died. 2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? I don't have any brother's or sisters. 3. What is your extended family like? They have all passed on, or I don't know who they are. 4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? I don't really have any close close friends, so my family is all I have at the moment. 5. Zeltiva University Dormatories 3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be? I enjoy living in Zeltiva... I don't think i'd move anytime soon. 4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time? The outskirts of Zeltiva is the farthest i've been outside of the city. I've lived a fairly sheltered life. 5. Where do you fear to be? The Unknown. Traits : 1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs?) Not to my knowledge. 2. Are you right handed or left handed? Right handed 3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent? I speak common mostly, and know a few Isurian slurs. I just sound normal I think, no accent here. 4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? Sometimes I stutter and talk fast, especially when i'm nervous. 5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them)? I don't have any tattoos/piercings. Have no reason to get any at the moment either. Occupations : 1. What is your occupation? I'm a student. 2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why? I enjoy studying the subject of botany, because it fulfills my need for knowledge. 3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be? A Master Shielder and Botanist. 4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why? I admire those shielders that create shields to protect people. It's what i'd like to be able to do some day with my skillset. 5. What occupation do you lest like? Why? I don't think i'd be able to get into fishing. It's just too bland I guess. I'd get too impatient for it. Childhood : 1. What sort of child were you? I was a quiet child, always trying to learn something new. 2. What is your favorite memory from childhood? My favorite memory was the first time I created water with Reimancy, in order to water my parent’s plants. 3. What is your worst memory from childhood? I don’t really have any bad memories from my childhood… it was alright. 4. What sort of relationship did you have with your parents? My parents and I were very close, until my father passed away, after that, me and my mother grew distant as she closed up into her own little world. 5. Who was your most influential rolemodel? I’d have to say my mother was, until my father passed away. And even now I still look up to her for some things. Education : 1. What sort of education do you have? I had the basic education that everyone in Zeltiva receives, plus I had additional training in shielding, reimancy, and magical theory by my father and mother. 2. Do you like/dislike learning? I absolutely LOVE to learn. 3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities? I learned Reimancy and Astronomy from my father, and Shielding and Botany from my mother. 4. How do you learn best? By visual aids and hands on activities. 5. What are your educational goals for the future? I plan to learn as much about botany and shielding as possible. Relationships : 1. Do you form close bonds with people? Why? Why not? I never have before, but I don’t see why not. I just don’t think I’ve met the right person or people yet. 2. Do you trust people easily? If not, why not? I tend to trust people until they give me a reason not to trust them. 3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else? I honestly don’t know what I consider myself. I guess gay, as I do find men attractive, and have never really been attracted to women, but then again I’ve never had an experience with either sex, so I can’t really comment on how I’d feel if a woman were to come onto me. 4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time. Never been kissed. 5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time. I’ve never had sex before. Drugs and Alcohol : 1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time. Never been drunk before. 2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis? Haven’t drank before. 3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer? Don’t prefer anything as I haven’t drank before. 4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them? Never tried any form of drug before. 5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific. Not for me, but it doesn’t bother me if others do them around me. Likes and Dislikes : 1. What are your hobbies? I enjoy botany, and learning anything new that I can learn. I also enjoy magical theory, specifically surrounding shielding and reimancy. 2. Do you like to read? Yes, I enjoy reading. 3. What annoys you more than anything else? People being ignorant or rude. 4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do? Stare up at the stars, wondering what’s out there, as well as sit within a garden, just quietly thinking about life. 5. What kinds of things embarrass you? Why? I’m not really the type of person to get embarrassed, save for my clumsiness. That’s really the only thing that embarrasses me. When I trip, or get knocked over, and somebody sees it, it feels like a character flaw to me. Favorites : 1. What is your favorite color or colors? Gonna have to go with wine red as my favorite color. 2. What is your favorite time of day? Probably mid afternoon. Mornings can be tough, and night times can be tiring. 3. What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? A part Symenestra’s eyes. The beautiful hue of blue-violet that they radiated was just amazing in and of itself. 4. What do you like to eat? What do you hate to eat? I enjoy a variety of foods, specifically vegetables, and some fish, chicken, and other white meats. 5. What is your favorite type of weather? Does any kind scare you? I love rainstorms, and the water they produce. Standing in a rainstorm feels relaxing as well, and makes me feel at home. Outlook : 1. Are you optimistic or pessimistic? Definitely Optimistic. 2. What are your religious views? I believe in a wide variety of the gods, though I give special credit to Lykata, and Lhex, the Goddess of Wisdom, and the God of Fate respectively. 3. Would you be able to kill? I doubt I’d ever be able to kill, knock out sure, but not outright kill. I’m just not that kind of person. 4. What are your views on sex? I don’t know, never had it, but not opposed to it. 5. What, in your opinion, makes a successful life? To live life as fully as possible. Actions : 1. What is the worst and best thing you’ve ever done? Best thing I’ve ever done? Go to the Zeltiva University. Worst thing I’ve ever done, is blame my mother for my father’s death when I was younger. 2. What is your greatest regret? Blaming my mother for my father’s death. 3. What is your best/worst memory? Best Memory, the first time I created a shield. Worst memory, my father’s passing. 4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why? I wouldn’t have blamed my mother for my father’s death. He died of unknown causes, and I always thought she had done something to stop him, until I finally realized the effects that his death had on her. 5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life? Finally heading to the University to start my adult life. Emotions : 1. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings with others? I’m fairly honest with how I’m feeling with the people I trust, and since I happen to trust others very easily, well, lets just say I’m usually completely honest with complete strangers. 2. Do you have any biases or prejudices? None that I’m aware of. 3. What makes you happy? Learning. 4. Who or what, if anything, would you die for? I’d die for my family, and loved ones. 5. What makes you angry? Ignorant and rude people. Relationships : 1. In general, how do you treat others? I treat others the way I’d want to be treated. 2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Right now, it’s me, until I find someone else to be close to, then it will probably be him or her. 3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? I respect my mother quite a bit, given what all she’s gone through. Even though she has her low points at times, she’s still strong, and there for me. 4. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover. I do not have a spouse or significant other. I’d like to find someone handsome, someone happy with who they are, and willing to share my life with me at some point in time. 5. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why My mother would protect me if she needed to. I would trust her with my life, as I’m her only son. Group Situations : 1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I tend to avoid conflict if at all possible. 2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Not really, I think I’m more of a follower, though I’ve never been put in the position to lead people, so I really don’t know. 3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Large crowds can get annoying at times, I tend to get ran over a lot in large crowds, so I try to avoid them if at all possible. 4. Do you care what others think of you? Yes and no. I care what the people that I care about think about me, as opposed to complete strangers, I don’t really care what they think about me. 5. What do you think of others, in general? I think people in Mizahar are survivors first and foremost. They will do anything at any cost to survive. And I don’t want to be like that. I want to help others, as opposed to not. Self Image : 1. What is your greatest strength as a person? My greatest strength as a person is my willingness to assist other people. 2. What is your greatest weakness? My greatest weakness I think is my clumsiness. 3. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I’d like to not be so clumsy anymore. 4. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Fairly introverted. 5. Are you generally organized or messy? Pretty organized, until I get ran over in the university hallways and my papers go flying. I do not. 4. What lengths would you go to to please your deity? To please Lykata, I would learn as much as possible and gain as much wisdom as possible. 5. Where do you draw the line at pleasing your deity? What is too much? I draw the line at having to kill somebody, or take another’s life. Life & Death : 1. What do you absolutely live for? I live to learn. 2. What is the best part of life? Learning new things, I think. It’s an ongoing process. 3. What is the best part of death? I’d rather not think about death. 4. If you could choose, how would you want to die? I’d rather not think about death… again. 5. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? Once again, don’t want to think about death!
