Completed Trial By Experience

[Chaude]

32nd of Fall, 18th Bell.

Having covered a fair distance away from Syliras, it felt more liberating to be out in the wild for a change. But now was the time to see if Crypt Insatem, bold in mind, is bold in body and spirit. Keeping his inner thoughts to himself, Chaude goes up a slight inclination of a rolling hill.

"Fight when ready," Chaude's first words squeaked.

[Crypt]

Crypt continued walking on until he reached a small forest clearing. There, he turned and faced Chaude. Maras trotted to one side, wanting no part in the combat that was about to occur. A spar it may have been, but it was against a Zith, and there was no telling what would occur.

Crypt drew his father's longsword, running a finger along the notched blade. He lovingly caressed it before holding its grip with his two gloved hands.

"Let us begin." Crypt said with a serious tone. He ran towards Chaude, aiming a slash at Chaude's legs.

[Chaude]

With only a short distance, charging uphill, even if the hill was shallow, Chaude pulled his short sword out of its sheath. He jumps back, climbing higher ground, wings exposed to reveal much more of his leather armor. Crypt's charging slash misses. Gusting, Chaude lifts himself into the air and hides amongst the tree canopies.

[Crypt]

Cursing, Crypt retreated some distance away from the general area in which Chaude hid in. Crypt constantly turned round and round, his longsword at the ready, waiting for the inevitable attack to come at him.

Damn. Chaude can hide pretty well, even with his large wings. Can't even see him now..." Crypt muttered.

[Chaude]

Having taken the time in silent wait, Chaude focused as he channeled through his veins to produce Res out on through the pores of his free hand. Floating in equilibrium, the outer orange blob forms into an sharp icicle shape the size of a mace, keeping the inner Res the same to keep the spell lasting. Chaude relocates Crypt's movements, soon detecting him further away from him. He flies over the canopies, intentionally hitting some of the branches out of his way.

Laying on a open patch above a sub-layered canopy, Chaude swoops down, tossing his Ice Paler spell first at Crypt, then wielding his sword in a defensive manner.

"Where could he be... Where could he be..." Crypt muttered to himself as he paced around the clearing, keeping his guard. The leaves crinkled and crumbled as he stepped on them.

And Chaude swooped down from a tree, tossing a large shard of ice in the shape of a mace towards Crypt. Crypt saw it coming a second or two before it would impact on him; he crouched down as it came towards him, using the momentum of the ice shard to cleave it into half with the blade of his longsword. His arms shook slightly. Leaping from his crouched position, he ran towards Chaude, faking a downward slash to his right side before switching to his left side, aiming an attack to his shoulder.

As the non-elemental icicle been split in two, Chaude landed, using the little free time to procure more Res, only in the form of his Remiancy Sword. Coursing through his veins, more of the orange blob came through his free hand's pores. He knew how to form it by lore, yet the blade proved difficult to shape as sharply and heavy as his metal sword. Within seconds, the concentrate broke and the sword had melted away. Duel-wielding is more difficult than imagined.

Detecting the fake downward slash, Chaude used his defensive stance to parry the attack towards his shoulder. Realizing quickly that the parry was short-lived, Chaude backed away from the weight and strength Crypt wielded with his long sword. In a straight up match, Chaude is no match to Crypt's skill with a longsword. Bold indeed. He'll have to find another way. Taking his turn now to be aggressive, Chaude anticipates in making a combo X-slash pattern, with downward slashing first, followed with upward slash with his free claws, before using his iron short sword to swing horizontally towards Crypt's chest.

Crypt managed to deflect the first two slashes of Chaude's claws with the flat of his blade. He winced slightly as he felt the large amount of force, surprised by the strength and hardness of his talons. It looked like Chaude had tried, but failed to form his sword through Reimancy.

Looks like he isn't really proficient in Reimancy yet...

He almost missed the third swing of Chaude's sword. Leaning back slightly, the short sword cut through his grey shirt, leaving a thin line of blood on his chest. Crypt winced as he felt the minor wound. Taking advantage of the fact that Chaude was slightly over-extending himself with the short sword, given its shorter range compared to his longsword, he crouched and swiped at Chaude's knees.

[Chaude]

Having broken through his defenses and made a slash mark, drawing first blood, the sight of the blood was so appealing...Distracted, Chaude was too late to defend against the crouching swipe at his knees. Falling onto his back, it was the one area the leggings didn't cover to give flexibility. Muttering in pain, Chaude summoned the strength to curl his wings into a cloak as he rolled hard to the side before getting back on his feet.

[Crypt]

Crypt smirked as he saw blood on his longsword. Rising from his squat, he watched Chaude fall on his back, curling his wings around him as if they were a cloak, rolling to one side before getting up. He lifted up his sword in an offensive position and, giving Chaude only a moment of respite, stabbed at his chest.

"Nice one, Chaude, I haven't bled since I met a dire wolf."
