[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

He'd seen nothing for days.

Boxes.

Dark.

Rat.

Boxes.

An endless cycle his eyes had slowly adjusted too, he didn't know what day, what time or even what season it was anymore. It was as if he had been locked in sleep. The constant swaying of the boat lulling him, the noises from above making his eyes carefully stalk the faceless footsteps. He was glad he was used to going hungry, glad his stomach no longer growled at the smell of food that once a day permeated the air.

He would be even happier when the voyage ended.

Thud.

The swaying didn't stop but he heard the cries. Distant, the steady and solid thumps of the boat hitting something. Since they were not sinking it only meant one thing. Summing whatever energy he had left the boy jumped to his feet only to fall on his face, his legs screaming protest. But he didn't stop, he couldn't be caught, not now. His arms moved with purpose, digging his elbows into the wood and dragging his stiff body across the floor. Light filtered beneath door, a cry of frustration bubbled in his throat and he managed to pull himself to his knees. Finally, finally he reached the barrel, the only things not nailed down. His ears pricking at the sound of keys he wasted not time lifting the lid, the stench of fish filling his nostrils.

Clank. Clank. Clank.

He wasted to more time, but it seemed as if he was doing everything painstakingly slow. Each lift of his leg into the fish smelling water, curling his body into the barrel and futilely trying to line the cork hole up to his mouth. Instead it felt like bells before he could breath air, the barrel floating through the air. The dank water filing his nostrils with each sway until it fell against the docks, water, fish and him spilling out among the curses and onto the docks. His legs worked this time and he fled, shoving himself between the people, through their legs and into the crowd of people.

"Welcome to Zeltiva." he whispered before collapsing on his rear and simply watching the people pass by.

[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Samantha Slate on September 2nd, 2012, 6:10 pm

5th of Fall, 512

Samantha tried to force down the feeling of dread that sat like a leaden lump in her belly as the sailors who crewed the ship she took passage on tied the vessel to the Zeltivan docks. The familiar smell of fish, sea, and city mingled heavily here, reminding her of days spent observing the fishermen and sailors as a child. She had so little to worry about back then. Now, however, the woman came for a completely different purpose. In truth, Samantha had missed her home, but she would do all within her power to avoid having to go near it at all. For all she knew, her father was still alive and waiting for her.

Now, Samantha came to learn. She wanted to understand the secrets of the world that the University's professors knew. If there were any way for her to obtain the knowledge that eluded her in her travels, she would almost certainly find it here in the city of her birth.

As she stepped off the vessel with what little luggage she had carried, Samantha glanced back with longing at the ship, knowing that it was the last time she would be on board a ship for a long while. The mage always enjoyed travel by sea; she always knew who was on board and never had to worry about unexpected surprises. The only true worry she ever had at sea was the possibility of a storm passing through and damaging the ship. With a sigh at her foolishness, Samantha resolutely shook the thoughts away and turned to walk into the crowded city of Zeltiva for the first time in nearly a decade.

[Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Naeya on September 19th, 2012, 12:44 am

Timestamp: Season of Fall, 1st Day, 512 AV - Late Morning

The road from Syliras to Zeltiva had been long and tedious, and was made even more so by Naeya's refusal to ride it on horseback. Instead, she had chosen to attach herself to a small travelling caravan of human merchants and their families. In return for her mizas and kind disposition, the group had agreed to provide her with (mostly) safe passage and (very bland) daily meals.

Although she had been fairly friendly with the merchants, Naeya's patience with the trip as a whole had begun to wane by the time the Mirahil pass was in sight. She was eager to put an end to the feelings of displacement that had ensnared her heart, and to settle into Mura for the remainder of the season. Travel, she'd decided, was exhausting. Exhausting, and overwhelming. She missed seeing the familiar faces of her friends and family. She missed waking up in an environment that she recognized. She even missed having a regular routine. Out here in the middle of Mizahar, surrounded by mutable cities and perilous wilderness, she felt lost.

Stranded.

Unmoored.

The Konti's self-pitying thoughts were interrupted when one of merchants' children gave a shout of excitement as the caravan passed through two mountains. Naeya, who had been trailing a step or two behind the group, quickly moved closer to the front as the city came into sight.

"Zeltiva," she breathed, looking wide-eyed at the seaside city. In spite of her fatigue with travel, she couldn't help but feel a rush of exhilaration wash over her. Naeya hadn't heard much about her new destination, but if it meant a long bath, a solid bed, and an assortment of sailors willing to take her to Mura, then who was she to complain?

Here we go...

Srath had been slowly making his way from one location to the next, never resting for more than a few seasons in any given place since he had heard rumors of a well-respected center for learning in the far off city of Zeltiva. He turned his path, one that was aimless and only sought knowledge at first, towards the east. He knew he would be able to learn more than he could in the spires here, that he could talk with others outside his race and gain more wisdom than when he had left his home or had stayed there.

He walked through the mountain passage slowly, each hand and foot placed with what would appear to be precise decision, when it fact it was just the slow and steady walking pace that Srath used when traveling. He walked along the mountain path, his nostrils flaring to take in the air around him, feeling the ground beneath him as it gave way slightly to his massive weight. He would always love nature and love being outside in it, though no place would ever be the same as a forest, more specifically The Spires.

As he came around the last leg of the journey, he could see a couple guards watching idly as he made his way towards the city. There was no threat in their stance or attitudes towards him; instead he was greeted with nods and slight bows from the two guards as he entered the city proper. He looked around, noting the smell of the saltwater in the air and the smell of fish and...ocean. It was unique. New. Awe-inspiring. "Thank you Caiyha." he murmured, ever-thankful for the natural, wonderful world around him.

[Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Tallis on October 1st, 2012, 7:37 am

Day 1, Fall of 512 AV
    Early Morning
    Mirahil Pass

Tallis’ trip from Syliras had been long and tiring, but it was finally coming to an end. The fact that this was a return trip seemed to make the young mage’s body feel lighter already; each step he took was filled with bounding energy as he anticipated his arrival back home. He had only been away for a season, but it had felt much longer to him. Zeltiva was where his home was. It was where his family was. It was where his life was. The reason he left? After the Djed Storms, Syliras had called for new knights and Zeltiva volunteered recruits in return for much needed supplies. It was a trade that Tallis had made willingly for his beloved port city.

Leaving for Zeltiva in late summer hadn’t been planned, but it was a lucky decision. The weather had been more than cooperative. The remaining sunlight still lingered into the later hours, but the night was creeping in earlier each day and a chill on the breeze indicated the change of seasons. The trees lining the faces of the Zastoska mountains were changing colour, leaving behind rich greens for more vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds. It was as if a fire were slowly spreading across the mountains.

Arriving at the top of a hill, Tallis could see the gap between the two mountains known as the Mirahil Pass. This was it. The young mage bounded down the hill with a childish liveliness. The young Stormwarden could almost feel Zulrav’s mark swirling across his shoulders. The breeze here felt so amazingly familiar. The winds were tinged with the saltiness of the sea and the crispness of the mountains.

Rushing through the Pass, Tallis was greeted by the sprawling city. As he threaded his way through the familiar streets, working ever closer to the center, he could see the clusters of buildings getting larger and larger. The damage from the Djed Storms had left its mark, but the citizens of Zeltiva weren’t afraid of hardship. It was obvious that the city was coming back together. This was home.

32nd of Fall, 512 AV

Emery's eyes swept over the docks before her as she disembarked ship, being sure to watch where she put her feet. The Docks were bustling with people of every kind and race and Emery felt a shiver of excitement race down her spine at the thought of the many, many wonderful things that they may be carrying with them, hidden on their bodies.

Day 1, Fall of 512 A.V.

“.......”

Noaru was silent as he approached the city gates, he has created many memories within Zeltiva all of which were good, causing death and chaotic-fear was his thing but has he truly been productive for these past ten-thousand years? This was the question he asked himself as he passed the last person he would see in his journey--surely someone was willing to provide him the power to rebuild the former world he lived in... At least one soul! The spirit was greatly displeased with himself: though, his power has grown it wasn't strong enough to push him forward, he would have to gain more power as where to a place where those like him freely roamed and spiritists wouldn't frequently travel so much.

Noaru didn't look back, if he did, he would surely turn back to the place he had called home for the longest but he couldn't go back fate and time were his opponents this go around and at his current level of strength, he couldn't defy them... yet. The spirit walked through the gates and began to float through the air almost flying, again he was free to roam to do as he pleased.

[Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Tiki on October 3rd, 2012, 12:43 am

TS: 88th of Fall, 512 A.V.

Had he finally made it? Tiki’s mind began to brighten as the scent of salty seas filled his nose overcoming the all-too-familiar aroma of the forest. He was relieved he didn’t get lost. He had followed the road just like he was told, and here he was, at long last. Home at last…?

Mirahil Pass was a rewarding climb. In this final ascension, Tiki left everything else behind him. He was so excited to see Hadrian. Yeah, he was excited to see Hadrian again! It had been a, relatively, long time since he had seen the wizard. The young kelvic was seamlessly jovial as the cat body shrugged up the last steps of the pass. Behold, the winds called to him, Zeltiva.

Although it was a bit of a distance to go, Tiki saw the jewel of the eastern coast and marveled at it. The sun-touched glare off the ocean surface sparkled back into his eyes, and the city seemed to glow with a greater light. The day seemed perfect. He could hardly wait to prance through the real beaches that Kendall showed him as stuff of dreams. He’d join Hadrian by the wave front and chase Ethan down the long stretch of sand. Yeah, that sounded good. That sounded really good. Tiki marched forward down the slopes into a city to start something new. First thing was first though, he needed to find that damn wizard and give him a lick.

[Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Ricky Maze on October 8th, 2012, 3:41 am

56th Day of Autumn, 512 AV

Odis gleefully ran around with the old moist stick he happened to come across, as Ricky sat and relaxed against the rough rock of the mountain. They had both come a long way from their travels, and now their journey has brought them near home once more. Now as the high sun greeted them with a gentle sea breeze, the smell of the city once again returned to Ricky.

"Odis boy, let's get moving!" Ricky exclaimed, the energetic dog running around as Ricky stood up. When they moved further along the path, their home finally came into view. A most welcomed sight indeed.

"So this is Zeltiva...." A soft murmur escaped the dark haired female, as she stared out over the railing of the ship. After so long, and running into one storm at sea plus a accident involving the mane's cloth ripping, Nadiya Whitevine had finally made it to Zeltiva. When she first heard, half way through the travel with the merchants, that they would land at Zeltiva, it made her a little interested at the prospect of it. Due to hearing talks about the great University that the city had. A part of her wanted to check it out, as well. With her black hair, pulled into a ponytail to keep the strands away from her face due to the blowing wind. Her every changing eyes, now a amethyst purple shade, would stare over the docks of the city. Just before the ship had docked, the captain had told her to head to a well known inn called World's End Grotto. Despite it's name, it was a very good place to go, for new visitor's when they had no other place to go.

Nadi's eyes lowered into a slight hooded stare, her purple orbs slowly swirling together with her original sapphire gaze. The mix was almost hypnotizing, since her curiosity was starting to fade away. "Hmm, well, from what I know of word of mouth there is no temple to Rak'keli here. But there are places that could use my help, if needed. First, I'll have to go to that inn I was told about." She muttered quietly to herself.

Shaking her head out, the the small slender and athletic female made her way over to the ship's walkway, as she made her way down. Already there, and she felt slightly warm inside of her white coat she had on. Yet she didn't remove it. She rather wait till she was fully in her room at the inn, before she decided to take her coat off. Plus, with her coat on, it helped hid her only weapon on her form. A wrapped up leather whip, that was hooked to her lower back. A strange weapon, for a Vantha, but one she made herself train in to use since it was to honor her father's family.

Nadiya's booted feel thudded against the wooden docks, her face blank the whole time, as she schooled her emotions. Her purple eyes, now back to the original bright blue she had. Recalling the directions the captain gave her, she made her way swiftly to where the World's End Grotto would be at.
