Under the Mountain (Sultros OOC)

Jobs and Business has been added to the info thread. I've tried to address everything related to employment, apprenticeship/training, industry, magic-related occupations, etc. Again, any questions, feel free to ask in the Question and Answer thread. After developing this, I realized that the entire occupational system of Sultros Kingdom is somewhat complex and formal. To some it may feel a bit restrictive however I tend to see it as being quite fitting for a race that views the entire act of trade and business dealing as a form of religious worship.

Howdy!

There is something of a lull at work for a short time so I am going to try and catch up on things such as grading threads, development and preliminary preparation for a quest that I hope to start in the coming weeks when work moves into the slow season. I am sorry if anyone has been left hanging with things but I will try and attend everything as quickly as I can.

You know what? We should post in the city pride forum, see if we can gather some interest for the domain. Sultros is probably not a common destination since their wares are usually expensive and they're not welcome in the city proper, but there's still plenty of reason to stick around and help. I think...

If there were a way for non-isur to earn money while sticking around then they might do so to save up for some of the shiny steel we handle so well. Trouble is, the Isur don't want for much, do they? Nothing they can't create at least. Some exotics would be neat, though I can't think of any off the top of my head. Ingredients?

While it is true that isur don't want for much, there are a few things to consider. Clothing crafted by an isur for example is different than that crafted by say a Konti living in Riverfall or an Inarta living in Wind Reach. There are style differences which include type of cut, color and accessories (beads, buttons, etc). Anything non-isur related to blacksmithing or metal/stone is likely not to be of much interest for the isur but just about anything else may hold value for them. Remember, the a very large number of isur never see the world outside of their underground city. Those that do, usually only travel as far as their citadel or one of the other clan cities. Travel to and from trading and border posts is not considered a routine vacation for most with only merchant and military caravans making such journeys. So with the right spin on things, just about anything crafted by non-isur (again, metal and stone being an exception) would find a niche among the isur.

Also, I want to give a little heads-up to isur characters that there is a regional quest on the way that Sultros will be a part of. I won't get into details of that quest as of yet but I will say that the part of it involving the Kingdom will involve one of the Lost Clans in a rather significant way. I will post more info as we get closer to the Regional Quest.

Finally, a Grading Request Thread has been posted for all your grading requests. I had a senile moment and forgot to include one in the main forum. It has led to a very disorganized mix of requests spread all over the place and as a result, it's hard for me to see and get to them all. If you have put in a request in a different place (office thread, scrapbook, pm, etc) please submit it again in the request thread and I will get to them as soon as I can. From now on, all grading requests should go in that thread.

Woot! Gillar is with us again!

That's a strong point really, hadn't thought of it that way. All these stories about people being kept from the world, always longing for something from the outside. That multiplied by ten then on the scale of an entire city sounds like what the Isur are sort of going through. If that works, we should definitely put it out there to let people know. Might pull some strings with other accounts to garter some interst.

And yes there is a regional quest! To do with a Lost Clan no less. Told you he had something planned guys. >.> Let's hope we can pump out these flashbacks faster so we can actually have some present threads when the quest rolls around. XD
