Completed A Meady Encounter [Blizzard]

It's a chilly night, and Zeke is really craving some of that autumn pumpkin mead. And maybe someone to talk to.

Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

She was giving him the strangest look, eyebrows furrowed deeply, as if he was some sort of wooden kid’s puzzle.
"Wha- thas hell as goin un?" she garbled indignantly, slumped in her seat, head lolling. Zeke tried to explain while tilting her head back forward for her,
“Well, you....uh, frankly you’re drunk as a skunk, and you needed some air. Hence, we’re here making sure you don’t die." He turned further towards Blizah, perplexed and looking into her eyes with his shifting greenish gold ones, as if making sure she was still conscious.
“What on earth made you so intent on drinking so much? Have you ever even had a drink before?” He should have stopped her earlier, but she had looked so on edge that he figured it was her intention to get completely and totally rubbished. Now though, he wasn’t so sure.

She was swaying more now, making a weird, bubbling sound, and her face had turned a most unpleasant shade of chartreuse. Zeke, having consoled many a drunken sailor, immediately put his hand on the back of her head and slowly pushed it down and over the bench so that the alcohol could leave her body with due haste.

He awkwardly leaned over and gathered up the Kelvic’s hair, holding it away from her face so she didn’t get sick on it. The cobblestone was soon splattered with what appeared to be a half-digested steak and and some wayward chunks of asparagus. At this point it was clear that she would have a hard time mauling him, even if she wanted to. Besides, he couldn’t leave her alone like this. She could be taken advantage of in this state, and Zeke would not let that happen, even if he barely knew her.

A few of the wet cobblestones pried themselves from their settings and got up on little twig legs, shaking tiny fists at the offending Blizah and trying in vain to wipe themselves off, then stalking away in an odd assortment of angry, cat sick-covered pebbles. Zeke clucked irritably at the stones and sat up when the woman was done with the wretched affair. She leaned against the bench with her eyes closed and Zeke dabbed a bit of vomit from her chin with his coat. Then her eyes sprang to life again and she coughed horribly, snarling,
“It's Blivvard! BLI-!” She slumped again, a few little chokes and gags coming from her under the curtain of hair covering her face. She looked miserable, but at least he knew her name now.
“Oh, Blizzard, I see!” Zeke replied. He wasn’t sure if she was still lucid enough to explain anything further, but it was late in the evening and he had to get back to the inn, or Micah would have his head for sure.

“Can you tell me where you live, Blizzard? You need to get home and sleep this off.” He heard a rumbling above him and he looked up to see that once again, as they did most nights, the buildings began to switch around, and presumably the streets too. That would make it harder for her to remember. Bollocks.

Blizzard mumbled some more nonsense and looked up at the new buildings, hair falling back like drawn curtains, staring at their painted facades quizzically, as if she were trying to find reason in them and couldn’t. Then she slumped to the side, glassy-eyed. Maybe he should just drop her off at an inn? No, they wouldn’t be able to find an inn now that everything had switched, not for a while, and Zeke couldn’t support her weight for that long. He looked sturdy, but most of that was just pudge, and while he had plenty of pudge he wasn’t strong enough to guide the bonkers Kelvic any further than a block.

Maybe he would just wait here with her until she came around. He couldn’t just leave her alone. He poked her a few times as a test but she just tilted to whatever side. Eventually, as the autumn air got snappier, Zeke shrugged off his blue suede coat, draped it over Blizzard’s shoulders, and sat resolutely next to her, determined to wait until she was allright enough to be alone without tripping, accidentally impaling herself on a sharp object and bleeding out on the street.

Several minutes later, his head was hanging over the back of the bench and he was fast asleep, oblivious to the fact that there was a drunken and possibly violent Kelvic sitting right next to him. Zeke simply snored quietly, and every so often he twitched.

oocSorry for the godmod, I just had to wrap up this one post or I'd have written a novel xP

OOCHaha don't worry about it. I promised you badassery and I end up giving you a drunken Kelvic. I'll change that soon. Blizzard just has to come to terms. Haha :) Although this'll be hard considering he's being quite the gentleman right now haha.

The small bricks were quite amusing an Blizzard wanted to laugh at them but she realized she had one of the worst headaches she'd ever had right now. She was unsure if it was an illusion, if it was real, or if it was a drunken trick her dumbass self was playing on her. Dammit Blizzard, this had to be the most petching stupidest idea you have ever had! NEVER again! Ever!

Blizzard sighed trying to communicate with him. She scratched her head trying to thank him for holding her hair back and the coat being draped over her but she was trying to come to terms. Thank the Gods he had gotten her name right. She was having a hard time comprehending and analyzing what had just happened these past two hours. Then she realized that his eyes had shifted "Vantha." she thought. This made her smile, even in her drunken state, as it was a reminder of home. And not her room at the Wolf's Cave either but Avanthal, her real home.

Perhaps speaking in Vani would be better understandable? Surely this Vantha had to speak Vani. The musical notes left her mouth quickly and a lot more clearer than her common as there was less of an opportunity for her to slip up "The Wolf's Cave. I cannot believe I've made this much of a fool of myself. I'm a blatant idiot," she coughed "Thanks by the way." Her head was throbbing but she had to admit she would rather endure this pain than the bloodlust that she had fought off. She wasn't sure if her speech was terribly slurred this time around or actually a small part understandable but after throwing up she was already feeling better and more like herself. However, that didn't mean she was all still there.

On a scale of 1-10 Blizzard was at about a 7 and decreasing extremely slowly. More musical notes left her mouth "First timer." she coughed up answering one of his earlier questions. Once again, it was probably slurred but in this state, Blizzard had no way of knowing. She hoped he would even be able to understand this but any sign of confusion on his face probably meant she was slurring in her speech. As Ruzekiel slipped into a quiet slumber she sighed then smiled. Someone actually trusted her. Someone actually didn't cower in fear and run the other way. Someone would actually let their guard down around her.

Blizzard needed to come to terms with herself and she recognized this fully. Even in her drunken state her common sense was beginning to slip back into custody but only extremely slowly. She was greatful for the Vantha draping his coat on her for she, even in her human form, probably would've been shivering. There was no way her body was going to allow her to sleep despite her dying efforts. She spent quite some time spitting out more alcohol that was rising when she burped, all the while holding her golden locks back. Her eyes would occasionally drift back over the man snoring at a very very low level. She watched as he twitched occasionally then looked again at the streets of Alvadas, pulling her legs up beside her, resting her head on her left arm on the bench's armrest.

Another one of Alvadas' creations and illusions were sprouting from the streets as red poppies began to sprout from the ground, pushing up through the cobbled stone. Poppies were her favorite flower, so instinctively, she felt one of the ones that had sprouted in front of her, then picked it. She smelled the flower's sweet center then watched as the rest of the street had more sprouting to the point there was a pretty even number of flowers on the street.

oocWhy thank ya! That does seem to happen with Zeke around women. I’m not even kidding. But don’t fear! I know a way to make him obnoxious enough to warrant violence, and it’s perfectly in keeping with his personality. >D

At some point he could have sworn that Blizzard was speaking Vani. He didn’t speak well himself, but he could distinguish a few pretty words here and there. Mainly “Wolf”, “idiot”, and “thanks”, which he considered to be a promise that she would try to refrain from biting his head off. Besides, he had more pressing matters to worry about. Like how he was really hungry. Damnit, Zeke was always hungry.

He had just been prancing through a gigantic pumpkin patch when the smell of alcohol and flowers made him twitch awake and rub his eyes blearily, then stretch his arms out for a big yawn. It was then that he realized the Kelvic was there, curled up on her seat on the bench. Poppies were sprouting in the street, heralding the dawn, apparently, because it was beginning to get just a bit light out. Blizzard was holding a poppy and twirling it between her fingers, her head resting on her arm. She still looked a bit ill, but better than she’d looked earlier.

Zeke reached out a tentative hand and slid it in comforting circles atop her back. Even after a few years in cities he was still a bit clueless about personal space. Being raised by a small pack of religious Kelvic wolves had made him a much more touchy-feely person than most were used to. It had gotten him a black eye and split lip on many occasions, but he was still learning.
“Good morning!” He sing-songed quietly in Vani, as to not jar her brain too much.
“Feel better? You were pretty skunkfaced last night.” He bent towards her sleepy form curiously and took her face in his hand, turning it towards him to peer into her eyes and making sure she wasn’t still too loopy. Soon she’d probably be able to get on her feet, from what he could tell. He put up a finger and waved it slowly in front of her face, directing her to follow it with her eyes, with all the manner of a practiced medicine wolf and none of the actual expertise. Then he gently but firmly lifted one eyelid and peered into it, finally concluding that he had no idea whether she was sober enough to walk.

OOCOh goodness haha.

This guy was a trip, but considering her head was beginning to severely throb from last night's little roundabout she didn't complain when the comforting hand rubbed her shoulder. Her face wasn't as numb as it was and she was beginning to have feeling come back to her fingertips as well. "Goodmorning." she managed to half-way mumble out of her mouth. She was tired and her eyelids were heavy but she wasn't sure where the Wolf's Cave was at all. Her voice wasn't in the best of shape but she didn't try to make herself sound anymore happier and any less worse.

"No not really. I actually somewhat wish I was drunk again." She sighed with a slight chuckle then rubbed her temples. She definitely wasn't in the best of shapes she could be in "Alcohol's a bitch." she simply responded. "Damn, what did that bartender give me?" Blizzard took a very deep breath and opened her eyes completely, looking at the poppy flowers in the street and the one in her hand. "Coincidence? Or good luck? Your favorite flowers when you've got a hangover? Seems promising." Common sense was now back in the house but she was still experiencing the side effects.

Blizzard raised her eyebrows as he fiddled around with her face but she soon swatted his hand away "I'm fine, really I am. Just a damn headache." the Kelvic didn't usually curse as much but the rumor was true. Alcohol really did bring out the worst in you. Blizzard scratched her head then gently handed Zeke his blue coat back. "Thanks for uh- sticking with me last night and that," she motioned towards his coat. "You're the first person actually to even trust me like that. Let alone stay the night with me on a bench to make sure I was alright. But I guess the alcohol gave you a reason, eh?" Her face was pale and her stone cold eyes were dull, the fire inside burnt out for now, just waiting on the fuel to light them up.

"I've gotta get some water, like, now." Blizzard braced herself, the attempted to stand. She immediately felt weak and sat back down, leaning her head back up against the bench "Bad idea, Blizzard. Bad idea." Blizzard sighed then looked at the cobbled street again, feeling the gravity it held, wanting to pull her down as soon as she lost her balance "I'm like super thirsty! This never happens to me! Ever!" "More alcohol side effects. DAMN IT!" Blizzard now hated alcohol. Hated it! It was on the very top of her list of things to avoid.

Zeke beamed. She could talk now! She must be feeling better, albeit still a bit woozy, because she was clenching and unclenching her fists, perhaps experimenting with the feeling seeping back into her fingers. He remembered the first time he'd had alcohol. He was fifteen, and he was seasick, surrounding by a crew of well-meaning (frankly a little slow) pirates. Not a pretty sight. In fact the goblin joule had made him lose feeling in his hands for nearly two days. Strong stuff, that was, but it certainly got his sea legs into practice.

Blizzard's eyelids were barely hovering above her pupils. She looked absurdly like a sleepy house cat curled up on hearth-warmed stone, nothing like her leopardess form. He almost laughed, but held his tongue. Maybe later, in a song.
"No not really. I actually somewhat wish I was drunk again." Now he did chuckle a bit.

"I know the feeling," he said wryly. "You ordered wine and I think she gave you some sort of whiskey. I should have stopped her, but...you kinda looked like you were about to go on a murderous rampage, and with the fangs and all, I figured it would be best if you got just a little calmed down. Not to the point of puking though, goodness!" He looked somewhat guilty. In fact he felt guilty. He never quite looked how he felt unless it was important.

And now he fretted over her eyeballs, checking to see if she was still sane, and nonsense like that. If he could help people with his music, sure he would, but music didn’t heal and he was a shit medicine man. He fretted all the same. She swatted at his hand, having endured enough, and he instead used that hand to tuck a wayward strand of hair behind his ear.
"I'm fine, really I am. Just a damn headache." Zeke nodded and winced. The headaches were the worst, and she must have it bad. Blizzard handed his coat to him and he slipped it on. A little chittering white rat scurried its way across its ragged shoulder, sniffing at Zeke’s face as a hello.
“Oh, Piggelin, there you are!” he exclaimed, scratching the top of its tiny head. It squeaked and bolted down his coat and into his pocket, probably frightened horribly of the predator threatening its blue home.
"Thanks for uh- sticking with me last night and that," she motioned towards his coat. "You're the first person actually to even trust me like that. Let alone stay the night with me on a bench to make sure I was alright. But I guess the alcohol gave you a reason, eh?"
He smiled nervously and said back, “Well, I mean, I like Kelvics and I tend to fall asleep easily and you’rekindaprettyso...” he caught himself mid-sentence and blushed like a schoolboy.
“What I mean is, I just wanted to make sure you were OK, and all.”

Luckily he was saved by the sudden post-drunken thirstiness. Blizzard abruptly stood, then sat back down with a miserable expression on her face. She looked forlornly into the street and growled, "I'm like super thirsty! This never happens to me! Ever!" She sulked and Zeke tried not to giggle. Blizzard was pouting. He stood up and searched his pockets for his compass. Bringing it out he looked at it, turned around a few times, and then headed northwest. He was pretty sure, last time he’d checked, that there was a fountain in that general direction. So he bounced off without a word and came back twenty minutes later with a flask full of somewhat questionable but delicious-looking rainwater from a barrel he found near the river. It wasn’t too muddy or yellow, so it would have to do. He passed it to her and sat down again, huffing and puffing.

That was a fast walk! Zeke was already out of breath. He looked up at her shame-faced and explained, “I’m not really much of an adventurer. Damn that Cook and her shepherd’s pie.” That made him think of something he’d said earlier though. Something he had to know.

“Blizzard...?” He asked hesitantly, “why did you look like you were about to go on a murderous rampage? Because, I have a feeling that you were about to do something rash and, I know we don’t know each other or anything, but, are you...well...stable?” He knew a bunch of crazy people, himself included, but he had never met a homicidal snow leopard, and he didn’t really want to, so clearing that up was really the only thing he needed from her.

OOCDamn, even harder for her to hit 'em hahaha ;)
Blizzard looked at the rat then a small and subtle smile grew upon her face that soon faded. "Whiskey, eh? Damn that bartender." The mentioning of her little rampage made her slightly frown as she thought about how to answer. "Oh don't worry! I'm just a snow leopard with a crazy bloodlust! I needed to kill something to satisfy it for another year or so and then go on another few killing sprees! Nothing to worry about at all!!! Shit, no way I'm telling him that. I've gotta make up something quickly." The Kelvic sighed then forced a slight smile on her face as she then looked at the Vantha in the eyes "Something made me uh pretty mad yesterday and I needed to escape it for a bit before I made a mistake."

Ruzekiel's apology made her grin slightly then she shook her head "Don't worry about it. I probably should have read the label while I was still sober enough to even read. My fault completely." It was her fault, but even if she had read the label she probably would've dranken it anyways to control that burning need to shred. She knew this stage wouldn't hold it off long though, probably a week or two maybe three at the most. She wouldn't allow herself to hurt someone when there was an alternative, one that would hurt herself. It was better than what her snow leopard wanted to do "Blizzard, you've always suppressed your bloodlust rather than to tame it and learn to control it. Now within these intervals, it controls you whenever it manages to find a crack and break through."

Blizzard rubbed her temples then her perplexed expression grew upon her face again. Ruzekiel stood up looking at some contraption then spun around a few times and ran off. "And you’rekindaprettyso..." making sure he was out of sight she smiled slightly then acknowledged the fact that it had slipped from his mouth, hence his reddened face. She sighed "He's curious Blizzard. Perhaps you should tell him why you were on a rampage last night? He would'nt be so confused but he'd probably want to run! Haha, quite the decision you've got on your hands! Goodluck." The Kelvic wondered where the Vantha had run off to but tried not to let her imagination run too wild.

Soon the poppy in her hand withered and was blown away by a breeze that came from nowhere. As soon as it hit the air it carried it away a few yards then the flower disappeared into red shards that glittered in the rising sun then faded away. Blizzard went to pick another one nearby but they all withered and followed the path of the previous one she had claimed. The Kelvic sighed then looked at grass sprouted and fur arose from the ground covering half of the street. The fur was brown and she went to bend over to touch it but her headache told her to stay put. "Remember, it's still there."

When she saw the familiar blue coated man return she smiled then shook her head "Where did you-?" She soon shut up as soon as he gave her the flask and drunk close to three quarters of the water non-stop. The cool water ran down her throat and her body greatly welcomed it. It soon quenched her parched body and caused a slight shiver to run down her spine. The flask left her lips as she took a huge sigh and wiped her mouth on her shirt "Thank you, like, a lot." a slight chuckle was added onto the end of that "You don't have to be an adventurer to fulfill a short water request." she shook the flash a bit then handed it back to Ruzekiel with a smile. It hit the spot right on the head and almost instantly she felt better.

And there it was; the question. "Damn it." Blizzard smiled then heaved a great sigh "Alright, don't go running away because you asked for it. Anyways, I'm not a lunatic if that's what you're asking. See every interval of years I get a crazy like bloodlust thing from my true self that wants me to kill any prey just for the fun of it. That's why I was so stressed and quite frankly being a bitch. Anything that sets me off could just hit a mine and I could go off and end up with me creating a terrible mistake. When that happens, I have to hide myself away for sometime in the mountains and hunt a ridiculous amount, most of the time not even eating the kills. This entire time I've suppressed it rather than learn to control it and it's biting me in the ass." Blizzard took a deep breath then looked at Ruzekiel in an apologetic way.

A Meady Encounter [Blizzard]

Postby Ruzekiel Soren on October 11th, 2012, 12:30 am

Zeke listened to the Kelvic’s story thoughtfully. He doubted that she was telling the whole truth, but it was good enough for him. He was a stranger to her, after all, not a confidant. Something bothered him about her eyes. They were....pained, somehow. There was a pain there that went far beyond “pretty mad”. Besides, he had to admit, he was just a nosy bastard.

So he waited like a dingo in the brush, trying to pick her apart just by studying her movements, the already tense shoulders, the guarded eyes, which seemed not to guard people from her but her from people. It was a conundrum indeed, a puzzle that he meant to solve.

By the time he got back with the flask the cobble had decided to wither the poppies and replace them with tufts of grass and brown fur. He nudged a patch of it with his boot and and it latched on to his toe like an overgrown chinchilla on a bad hair day. He shook it off an gave her the flask, which was nearly empty when Blizzard took in a thirsty gasp of air and handed it back gratefully. “Impressive,” he marveled, sitting next to her. He chuckled at her comment.
“I suppose so,” he said, “Then again, in Alvadas everything is an adventure. That’s why I like it here.”

And then, the question. Blizzard’s face froze for a moment, but broke into a reluctant smile and she sighed.
“Alright, don't go running away because you asked for it. This entire time I've suppressed it rather than learn to control it and it's biting me in the ass."

He listened carefully, nodding at the right moments, and when she was finished, he felt a bit like a caged squirrel.
I am a wolf, he assured himself, I bow to no man...er...homicidal leopard lady...
Blizzard took a deep breath and looked at him, apologetic and almost like she was expecting him to get up and leave at any second. Well, he would take that challenge. Zeke took her hand in his and peered into her eyes. Then, making another rash decision, he stood up and crossed his arms, tapping a foot on the ground. Abruptly he asked, matter-of-factly,

“Would you kill me?”

OOCI’m going somewhere with this, seriously. Let’s curb her bloodlust! :D

oocThis should be interesting. Haha, oh goodness what a rollercoaster we're on eh, Blizzard? Haha just kidding ;) Sounds like a plan!
Blizzard blushed slightly but practically unnoticeably when he took her hand. However, if one was to look hard enough they could tell but otherwise, it would go under the radar. Blizzard pulled her hand back awkwardly and once Ruzekiel stood up she turned her head somewhat and looked at him through narrow eyes.

The words struck home and part of the alcohol's effects were reversing at the slightest mentioning of it stirring up the prevention and causing bits and bits of it to be swallowed by the bloodlust's churning waves and being pulled closer to the whirlpool that continuously stirred itself. "Think this out carefully." Blizzard sighed after thinking it out a bit then looked into Ruzekiel's ever changing eyes "If I wouldn't have been restraining myself last night, there's a high possibility it wouldn't have ended well. Now," here her breath grew quieter "Now that you did me quite the deed last night, my Kelvic bond prevents me from anyone who does me a favor to at least return the favor," she took a deep breath "In this case, the favor from me to you is not killing you."

"That doesn't mean I can't hurt you." she thought, her expression growing serious as she looked off into the distance then back at the man then back into. By this time, she never thought a bench could be so comfortable. It had grown on her through the time she had been sitting here and she just realized that. However, this was just her forever wandering mind trying to clear its thoughts. Blizzard took a deep breath then looked at the man's blue coat, wondered about the rat inside, examined the pockets, then looked back into his eyes, a face smirk growing upon her face "Savy?"

The Kelvic nervously twisted a loose strand of her golden hair that shimmered slightly in the rising sun's rays. Her blue eyes were now bright and fiery once more, returning to their more movement than normal state. Her light pants and shirt blew slightly in the cool breezes the city allowed pass through. She ran her tongue over her canines as a sign of anxiety. It was a habit that she didn't even know she did but if others looked closely it was an apparent action.

“Good,” he said. “Then I need you to do something, just for kicks...Punch me.”

He opened his arms to her and stared, through eyes narrowed nearly to slits. In them was a challenge, nay, a dare. “Go ahead, take a swing.” Of course he was nervous, but if this worked it would be worth it. He’d done more dangerous things. OK, maybe not, but there’s a first time for everything. He didn’t want Blizzard to go through what Jade had. She was such a sweet girl, that Jade. A sweet girl with a trail of bodies behind her. No one had ever even tried to understand the bloodlust, except the frail survivor Snowdrift, with all her herbs and poultices, and even she couldn’t help her. Jade descended into madness.

Zeke wasn’t going to lose this Kelvic to the noose. He stood steadfastly in front of her, his thick brow furrowed in this dare, like an ominous umbrella over his gleaming mad eyes.

oocI’m sorry, but my posts are going to stop coming as often. I am so freakin’ weighed down with the schoolwork and the job right now, so it will take a while for me to post from now on. Sad but true. :(

oocHaha, don't worry about it a single bit! I know exactly what you're going through!
"Are you insane?!?!" Blizzard said, her eyes narrow and scrutinizing the words. She was unsure of what kind of plan he was devising in his mind. The snow leopard stood up then tilted her head with her arms crossed "You're one insane bastard aren't you?" she said this jokingly with a playful smirk across her face. Blizzard shook her head then took a few steps "You asked for it."

"Besides, why the petch would you want to help me out, anyways? I think it might be best if I was dead, anyways!" She sighed, then flicked her arms a couple of times to get her blood pumping and the adrenaline coursing through her body so she could actually bring herself to hit him. Blizzard sighed, took a deep breath, then bared her teeth "You asked for this." Blizzard balled her fists then like she had practiced before, she put her fists up before her face then struck twice with her fists all in a rapid fire.

"Damn, that felt good." She looked at the much shorter Ruzekiel then shook her head "Hope to the Gods you're fine."
