fall 20 512av ❤ sister lark ❤ pillars of dust It was always in the Pillars of Dust that she crept carefully like a cat and stared at her surroundings with cobalt eyes. Her blonde hair would hang loose around her shoulders or tied haphazardly into a scarf, and she would watch from moon-shadowed corners the raucous Scorpions and the racy Larks. A peculiarity she noticed from years of shifting was her eyelashes: they were black and unnaturally long, despite shifting with the days and the seasons. There was no reason for her to be contemplating her eyelashes, but her mind melted into strange thoughts when she was hiding in the Pillars. A shadow crossed Leth's pale face and all was covered in a dark silver glow. Or, it would have been if the large fires and torches that were casting long black shadows by the ruins hadn't been there. There were more faces illuminated by an orange glow rather than a silver one. But it was the dark that instead showed Chiaja something that she really hadn't noticed before. How the larks moved, how they cast coy glances over there shoulder as the stepped around the pillars with their tinkling bells. What would it be like if Chiaja learned to move this way, learned how to seduce for information? They should be easy enough to bargain with, to find one to teach her. But as of yet, the right one hadn't come to light. Her skin shimmered orange as she stepped, ever so carefully, out of the shadows. |
