Kavran Deilos Knight of Syliras Basic Information Race: Human Birthday & Age : 1st of Spring 488 AV (22 years old) Gender: Male Physical Description Kavran stands at 6'6'' and weighs about 225 lbs, most of his weight consisting of solid muscle. He has medium-length, black hair which he keeps smoothed back away from his face, though it tends to fall into his face after long periods of exertion or sudden movement. His skin is paler than usual, and his flesh is scarred in several places, including a long vertical gash extending from his left eyebrow to his cheekbone. He has a rather lean look to him, despite his massive height and subsequent musculature. His lithe form is complimented by his predatory features, such as his dark eyes that stare out at passersby with as much dignity and poise as malice and scorn. He holds himself with utter composure at all times, and this makes him appear even more intimidating than his skills bely. Character Concept A perfect gentleman, Kavran is well-versed in etiquette in all of its forms. He understands human behavior the most, since he is one himself, and this trait carries over into his duties as a Knight. He is a devoted man, and takes his job very seriously. He does not allow for foolishness or playing games, and he does not like being lied to. He is ruthlessly efficient when it comes to killing, and his nonchalant behavior regarding it is viewed as monstrous by the victims' comrades, but ideal by the Knighthood. He is passionate when it comes to justice, and to question his decisions is a direct insult to him, since he has a habit of rationalizing his choices with morality and fairness. He appreciates a good conversation more than anything else. Another thing that has yet to be stamped out with his training is his rather promiscuous nature; his treatment of the fairer sex, however, is still chivalrous and respectable. Character History Born into the lower-classes, Kavran's mother and father were degenerates and disease-ridden criminals. Though their illnesses were not passed on to him, Kavran was nontheless affected by his parents' choices. His father succumbed to a fever and died in the streets when he was just three months old, and his mother was forced to sell her body to make up the extra income. She was killed by a "customer" eighteen months after her husband passed. A Syliran page, passing through the neighborhood on watch the same evening of his mother's death, heard the screams of the infant Kavran and took the child from its home. Having been sent out to receive a message regarding the deaths of the Deiloses, he was well-informed about the situation and did what he thought any Knight would do. The page knew that the future he imagined for the boy was better than anything his mother and father could have dreamt of. A kind but inexperienced Knight, known as Ubart, became the sponsor for the young Kavran. Ubart did more than become the Sponsor, though. Practically from birth, Kavran became accustomed to the lifestyle of a Knight; he served as a page and did so with as much dedication and passion as he could muster. Ubart was his guardian, too, and Kavran did not want to disappoint his foster-father. Gifted with the talent of learning quickly, Kavran took to his position like a bird to the sky, and was praised by his numerous masters for his skill and reliability. Traded among Knights like a commodity for years, he was taught how to read and write, to cook, clean, along with other daily requirements. He took it all in with the fervor of one possessed, and was soon knocking on the door of his squireship. At age 13, Kavran was at last eligible for becoming a squire. Coincidentally, his Patron Knight was Ubart. Thankful for the admittance, the new squire served his father and master to the fullest extent, and never disobeyed a single order. He learned how to care for horses, clean weapons and armor, and even the finer arts of diplomacy and etiquette. As his father, Ubart went the extra mile and began to tutor his son on combat techniques, and gave him lessons. If nothing else, Ubart was a master swordsman, and he was just a mere 29 years old. His lessons were the most appreciated by Kavran, and it turned out that the squire was a natural with the blade. For three years he learned and watched, and when it came time to show his mettle, Kavran didn't disappoint. He was admitted to the Knighthood at 16, and has served faithfully ever since. In his time as a Knight, his skills increased dramatically, and he showed the potential to become even greater, given time. For six years, he has dutifully served in the Knighthood as peacekeeper and a member of the city watch. He has seen his fair share of action and even assaults, and has made great use of his sword skills in that time. True to his oaths, Kavran answers only to the deities of the Knights and the Knighthood itself. Everyone else's orders are meaningless. His father, now a man of 38 years, is perhaps the only person that understands this loyalty and makes no hassle out of it. The two share a mutual understanding of life as a Knight.
