Coren gets heckled by some haters. Sliver has to deal with more magic.

This northernmost city is the home of Morwen, The Goddess of Winter, and her followers who dwell year round in a land of frozen wonder. [Lore]
The Kelvic shrugged. He was probably right, but Sliver felt as if the Icewatch wouldn't be able to say no to a temporary guest if discrimination was such a problem. It had been worth a try, however. She nodded in response to his question.
"I suppose we should."
She led Coren slowly into the heart of the barracks. Dark bear eyes and brightly hued Vantha gazes followed them down the hall. They were absent of the jeers or looks of disgust or hatred, mostly just curiosity at why a comrade would be bringing a stranger into the barracks. It was Jaerith who she ran into first, he gazed solemnly down at the two and Sliver stood aside to let him inspect the mage.
"So what's this about then?"
Sliver raised her gaze, having been addressed.
"Linnel and I were on patrol when we heard some sounds about a block away. When we arrived in the street this mage had injured one of two men who were engaged in a..."
This was the moment where her words might help or hinder the man. She was unsure if she should take the most unbiased opinion and say that he had injured the drunks, with no evidence of why when she clearly knew the reasons. It seemed wrong to do so, but wouldn't it be equally wrong of her to take the side of the strange pessimistic mage? She tried to imagine the looks on those men's faces before they had arrived, the words that must have caused him to throw the rock so hard. The Kelvic's pause dragged on long enough for Jaerith to clear his throat expectantly before she continued.
"There were two drunks, sir. They were harassing him and in return he broke one of their shoulders just as we came upon them. Linnel took them both to the Healing Center. They claimed they had done nothing to provoke an attack, and she went to question them once the injured one got bandaged up."
She blinked once and glanced at the mage. For the first time since their encounter she glanced into the shadows of his cloak to see two gleaming eyes staring back at her beneath. They were a reddish orange of dying coals in a fire, and Sliver wondered what that meant. She glanced back up at Jaerith who had his head cocked to the side as he spoke to the stranger.
"So what's your name, then?"
Sliver felt rather ashamed then that she hadn't even bothered with it this whole time.
Coren followed sliver inside the icewatch barracks, a slight tight feeling came over him as he walked through its halls. As much as he wanted to get this over with, the idea of getting judged by a bunch of non-mages, who most likely couldn't stand his kind and where there was dislike there was prejudge. Still so far so good, nobody was staring at him with disgust, just with confusion for why somebody was being lead into the barracks. Coren guessed they didn't have many people that had to come in here for punishment these last seasons.
When a voice suddenly caused sliver to stop coren turned towards the man who seemed to instantly pull slivers attention towards him. And honestly he didn't expect to see a rather ordinary man. Still better not to judge somebody from appearances. When Sliver didn't let her prejudge against mages color the situation and just reported the facts as they where. Still, he couldn't shake the worry, he was about to get punished and if he couldn't manage to convince them that it was self-defense he would probably be the only one who would get punished. He was pulled out of his thoughts when the man suddenly addressed him. “My name is Coren.” Coren said in a polite tone, as usual he didn't say his hold. Coren straightened his back and looked the man straight in the eye. Worry or not, he wasn't going to cower in front of anybody for his own actions.

Jaerith was silent for a moment, his focus solely on Coren before he spoke. Sliver stood a bit to the side a bit nervous at what the verdict would be for the Vantha.
"Linnel sent a message ahead of her from the Whitevine Healing Center. This isn't the first instance of these men disrupting the peace of the city, nor the first time they have harassed mages. They will be spending a night in Svanhildur for their efforts."
He looked at Coren, his gaze growing stern.
"If I had my way your treatment would be the same, there is no excuse for that kind of retaliation, but my superiors have spoken. This is your first and only warning mage Coren. The next time you use your magic for violent means against a citizen of Avanthal, deserved or no, the retaliation will be swift and unforgiving. The Icewatch will have their eye on you from here on in. You are free to go. Sliver, you can escort out guest out?"
Sliver's eyes widened as Jaerith gave them both a stiff nod and headed back to where ever he had come from. This was certainly not what she had been expecting. She glanced back at Coren to see his shadowed reaction, walking him back towards the entrance of the barracks.
Coren couldn't suppress a grin of relief underneath his mask and hood when he heard that the two men where known troublemakers, that did shed him in a better light at least. And it firmly founded the fact that they did deserve what he did to them fully. It was wiped of his face with the next sentence though. How would he know that such things didn't deserve a retaliation like that, they where scum, people who preyed on others for their own fun and he was to harsh on them? For morwen's sake, they where a bunch of scumbags! He should have broke a few more bones to make sure they wouldn't try it ever again with somebody else.
“I'll keep that warning in mind.” Coren noted he only warned him against using magic on the civilians. Nothing about physical force, so next time he would just plant his fist in those moron's faces if they tried it again. When the man turned away he just looked at sliver, not giving the man another glance “I didn't expect to get out scot free, but I won't spit on it. Would you please escort me out of here?” He ignored the few icewatch around him that like Jaerith didn't agree with his light punishment.

Sliver only nodded in agreement to her superior's and the mage's request and silently escorted Coren down the hallway, careful not to show the same emotion the mage did at his free pass. Well...not entirely free. At the door she inclined her head respectfully and watched the mage go on her way, wondering if she'd see him again. It was a big city, but not that big...

Notes: You tried so hard to be friendly and nice and got rebuffed at every turn! Poor Sliver. I liked how your PC handled the events and responded to Coren’s animosity. She managed to control her wolverine’s aggressive instincts and keep her cool. Sliver is definitely making a name for herself among Icewatch.

Notes: Oh Coren, can’t you play nice? I was surprised that Coren discussed his Hold’s rejection of him but it seemed to bring about some good conversation. I think you did a good job of staying grumpy and tight-lipped while still giving Sliver things to work with.
