“You dumbass motherpetcher!” Blizzard’s body began to hunch in front of him and nearly rippled, but the change steadied itself, thank Ionu. His heart was already pounding in his chest, preparing him for whatever came next. She whirled around with a snarl and a hand grabbed wildly at his side. He felt her fingers latch onto his tunic and pull him back but he tore the fabric out of Blizzard’s vice-like grip and sent a few quick, sharp jabs at her stomach. As all this happened he was thinking in slow motion.
Why the hell did I just do that? Am I that mad? He’d promised himself that that trouble with Kaido would be the end of his search for the high of the Fight, but here he was, actually instigating a furious scuffle with a battle-hardened, 5’9 Kelvic! It would be the death of him. But enough of that. The air was tainted with violence. He cherished the taste of it, even if he was on the losing end. Would this kill him? Very likely. For some reason, the thought made him feel like a god.
By now, Zeke’s coat had slipped off and Blizzard’s hair had come loose in the tussle. It fell like a waterfall behind her as she snarled and lunged at him, pummeling his chest, his face, hell, even his shoulders. She snapped at him with sharp, deadly looking fangs, but Blizzard was barely targeting where she hit, she was so furious. Because of this he managed to duck and avoid some of the lighter attempts, but he was socked in the chest and face a few times. He got in several good punches, and he might have even bruised her a bit. For him, that was actually an improvement, and he was starting to think that he may survive this when he felt a sharp, horrible pain in the crook of neck and shoulder. He yelped at the sudden pressure of teeth biting into him and bared his own teeth as he looked down and saw that Blizzard had finally hit a mark. Her eyes narrowed to predatory slits, as if planning what to make out of him for dinner.
Zeke growled in pain and for a few tense moments they regarded the dark red stain spreading on his shirt collar. Then it was gone, time unfroze, and Zeke ripped himself again from her teeth, staggered back and prepared to leap on her and let all hell loose. But something made him pause. The something he was looking for.
"Look at what you have done! I warned you!"
The Kelvic was bent over, hands on her knees, breathing hard through clenched jaw and lips set in a horrible scowl. Fighting the bloodlust. Jade had done it. She hadn’t been successful, but this girl was strong, he could tell. She had to survive, she had to.
Blizzard charged at him with a feral scream and he staggered to the side. She collided with the brick wall and growled in frustration, then turned on him once again. Her eyes were on fire. Zeke backed away, slowly, clutching his shoulder, and snarled “Fight it Blizzard, don’t
talk to it. You’re better than this, you can
do this.” Then his knees buckled and he leaned back against the wall, blood seeping through his fingers.
The Kelvic stood there, shaking with rage, and finally she let out a tortured howl and collapsed on the ground, hair splayed across her twisted face and breathing like she’d just run the length of the world. She clutched at her head and screamed long and loud, writhing on the ground, fighting her true self. Zeke silently rooted for her. Even making eye contact at this point would be deadly. She had to go it alone. So he panted and closed his eyes, sliding to the ground, a pallor quickly coming over his face.
oocWhee, I finally posted something! The plot thickens!
