She could never get anything to sound right when she was confused or mad or frustrated. Kass seemed to understand her, though, even from only two days of knowing her. She blinked slowly, her long black lashes making her look the picture of innocence. Again, she opened her green eyes wide. Slowly, almost grotesquely, the whites creeped up into her eyes and surrounded the center black orb. This shape could probably terrify anyone more than just her Chaktawe eye -- it appeared to be all pupil and no iris. The black seeped like tendrils of smoke into the pupil, leaving behind a grey shell where the iris would be. It tinted green, the opacity becoming solid until it covered the iris in a single, smooth expanse. Out of the whites grew a dark green-brown band of colour surrounding the iris. "How did I do?" Kassret frowned for a second and shook her head. "Not good." Chiaja sighed and let her eyes return to their natural state for the daytime: all black. Again, she stared into the eyes of her 'daughter', attempted to focus managing to get the whites. The center, where green and pupil should have been, was still completely black. Slowly, she managed to push the black into the pupil, and the 'iris' was becoming green. Her finished product was a much too green and somewhat unrealistic copy of Kassret's eyes. She attempted to copy the way her eyes appeared multidimensional and the way the eyes seemed like jagged pieces of glass around the pupil, but it was only a fraction better than before.
