The falcon fell from the sky, and for a split second, Elvyne was convinced an arrow had bought it down. But the startled cry of tiny birds lifted from the grass by Elvyne and Majesty’s approach gave Elvyne the true reason.
I should feel guilty she wondered, knowing that if she hadn’t come this way, the small wild birds wouldn’t have flown off in fear, and the poor victim would still be happily dust bathing. Her hazel eyes glanced back to the falcon;
you should be thankful.
She was fast approaching the other two Drykas, who had seemingly slowed down and were talking animatedly to each other. She pulled Majesty to a trot, and the horse mischievously snagged a piece of grass from the earth, munching on it happily. As Elvyne came closer to the two strangers, but toyed subconsciously with the dagger at her thigh, hanging by a simple belt. Yes, there was definitely a young female with the other, who Elvyne could now see was male.
It still took a few moments for her to reach them - Majesty refused to trot for more than 2 minutes without pausing to snatch up a piece of grass to munch on. Eventually, however, she was behind them.
”Morni- Majesty!” her Strider nipped the rump of the male Drykas’ Strider playfully. She nickered and threw her head back enthusiastically,
”Sorry- she loves meeting new people. And Striders.” and embarrassing me beyond belief.
