Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

Paintings or Portraits?

Fall 61 512 A.V.

Tinsel hovered a bit before landing silently on the ground. She saw that the marketplace was emptier than she had expected. Perhaps because it was still only morning.
Before she packed up her toolkit she took a look around to ensure that the spot she had chosen wasn't in anyones way. When the easel was set up and the palette filled with colours there was nothing more to do than to wait for the customers.
"Portraits, portraits! Get some portraits! Immortalize your beatiful face in a painting, for just a couple of mizas!" she shouted while waving her brush in the air.
But even though people heard her, they just smiled and quickly walked by.
"Really, that's what you say when you want customers?" she thought and sighed. This would be a long day.

Paintings or Portraits?

A girl with hair as colourless as a cloud made her way around the market place. She had no one with her, no horse nor human, and for that, she felt cold and lonely. It was very empty in the market place so early in the morning, when the sun had barely had a chance to wash the land with warmth. Winter was coming closer, and she dreaded it.

Sure, Winter came with many celebrations and wonderful food and family time, but it was also when she was supposed to return home, which she'd done early. Loras had a little bout of colic that encouraged her to get home early and let him rest. He was prone to digestive problems, being the glutton that he was.

The girl pulled her cloak tighter around her, huffing out a breath that rose and dissappeared into the air, glancing from stall to stall. People in Mura were all relatively familiar with each other, and many of them knew her. The merchants didn't call out to her like they did to others, but she ignored them anyway. She had no intention to buy anything in the market today. Her horse was in need of some feed, but he was fine on grass, and it was easier on his stomach.

Her pale eyes glanced around, glazed, until they settled on a girl set up behind an easel. She was nothing notable in Kyarni's eyes, but there was a pair of brilliant wings behind her, and that's what got her attention. Though she traveled a lot, Kyarni had never had the chance to go down to Akvatar. Though she'd seen many people from there, she'd never had the courage to just speak to one.

Hesitantly, but not at all shyly, she walked up to the easel, craning her neck to look around the girl, curious as a cat. She wondered briefly what it would be like to fly, but decided it simply wasn't her thing.

Paintings or Portraits?

Just as Tinsel was about to give up and pack her things again, she felt something warm in her neck. Warm and a bit moist, making her feel uncomfortable. Like the deep breath of another being.

Slowly she turned her head around to see a grey cloak and a pair of leather boots. After looking up she discovered that there was a young lady admiring her wings. It made her smile, in fact, it was her first smile of the day. She wondered what was so fascinating with her wings, they were just wings. Again, everyone wasn't born with them, and as many wise thinkers had already explained: The things you dream of are usually the things you don't have.

Tinsel took a closer look at the womans face. Eyes as blue as the sky, hair almost as white as snow, and a pale skin with some scales here and there.
"She's probably a Konti" she thought to herself.

"May I interest you in a portrait? Or another type of painting to hang in your home?" she asked loudly and after a few seconds she realized how formal that had sound.
"Why do I have to make everything so awkward?"
