Nestled on the outer tip of the Government Petal, just between the Riverfall and Avanthal Trading Posts is a large wooden warehouse. It is built from wooden slats, hand carved by the Jamoura, and fitted together without a need of nails, vines, or glue. It is quite large, roughly a thousand feet long, and five hundred feet wide. It has one large open doorway, as well as a large opening in the roof, just wide enough for a Wind Eagle to fly down through. Throughout the day, many laborers can be seen carrying heavy barrels and crates into the building, and piling them up and rotating them amongst the growing stacks. Several large nets hang from the ceiling, awaiting to be filled with the trade goods. Three times a season, a massive Wind Eagle can be seen flying the goods out of the warehouse and off into the western distance.
The Wind Reach Trading post was built in the summer of 512 AV upon the completion of the Wind Reach - The Spires Trade Agreement. This agreement was born out of necessity after The Spires realized that they needed outside help if they were to continue to survive in the ever dangerous and changing world. After various events, namely the Miststalker Attack of 511, The Djed Storm of 512, and the Mock Raven Attack of 512, two Endals began trade and protection talks with the Memory. The Spires agreed to provide Wind Reach with various foodstuffs, compost, and seeds. Wind Reach, on the other hand, is providing protection in the event of future attack, as well as acting as interim and transportation for trade with Riverfall.
Three times a season, a pair of Endals leave The Spires with nets full of trade goods, while a fresh pair of Endals arrives. These Endals are treated as honored guests, having all of their needs attended to during their stay. They are always on duty, for if the city comes under attack, they will race back to Wind Reach and return with reinforcements. Derk
Name: Derk Race: Jamoura DoB: 312 AV PoB: The Spires Title: Keeper of the Trade Post Skills: Planning 67, Organization 58, Negotiation 52, Mathematics 48, Observation 45 Derk is the Jamoura that organized The Spires' half of the Trade Agreement. He brought together the businesses that would provide the goods to Wind Reach, spent countless hours haggling with the Endals, and even made a trip to sign the agreement with the Valintar. He gathered the supplies and the manpower to have the Trading Post built, and now manages the inventory, as well as agreements with the local businesses. He does all of the hiring and employee management, and maintains all of the paperwork. Derk is an analytical individual, and not very personable. He deals with numbers and trade on a daily basis, and calculates every risk as such. When he hires an employee, he determines the risk of loss versus the increase or maintenance of profits. He never gets upset or angry, but he also never seems overly pleased or impressed. He has high expectations for everyone, and will ensure that they meet them. Quarhot
Name: Quarhot Race: Inarta DoB: 477AV PoB: Wind Reach Title: Member of the Merchant Flight Skills: Negotiation 76, Organization 65, Riding (Eagle) 58, Leadership 51 Quarhot is a former Endal in Wind Reach. However, his Eagle died during the Djed Storm, and he found himself without purpose. Shortly after the trade agreement was brought before Kaden and the Valintar, it was soon realized that Quarhot was much better at dealing and negotiating with foreigners. He tagged along on the trip back to The Spires and assisted in the building of the Trading Post. Now he stays in The Spires permanently, managing the trade and ensuring that the arriving Endals maintain a professional and appropriate presence as guests. While in The Spires, he is in charge of all incoming Endals, as well as any other visiting Wind Reach citizens.
Quarhot is a fair leader, but a brutal negotiator. He never takes more than he needs, but will fight for a single Pinion if he feels his people are being slighted. He can be stern if a Wind Reach citizen is out of line, and never gets in the way if they've broken a Spirian law. He has no desire to return to Wind Reach, and will never talk about his own Eagle, even though he can often be found talk to whichever Eagle is stationed there. Employment And Pricing
