Her body retains her womanly curves as well as it can, mostly depicted through her long legs and cinched waist, two traits she is quite proud of. Though her chest is small, she generally finds some way to accentuate her breasts, whether through a corset underneath her clothing or bindings. Being a traveling singer, she has toned muscles from riding and walking through terrain, and her hands are touched with a few calluses, obviously inferring the use of a sword. Dark brown hair compliments her extremely pale skin in such a way that makes her appear almost angelic, especially when coupled with her large, rounded brown eyes. Her innocence is coupled with womanly features, however, such as the long, thick lashes and full, pink lips. A smile is always hinted at the edge of her mouth, causing her to seem playful and knowing to those she meets. Naomi's clothing is generally simple during travel, yet her singing outfits range from beautiful to dramatic (depending on the situation and venue). She usually prefers dresses when walking about towns, but wears shorts or pants out on the road. To give an idea of her tastes, she loves lightweight cloth in summer and spring, while she also adores furs in the winter. Generally, she wears a long, white linen tunic with a form of leather shorts during the hotter moths. In addition, she styles her wavy hair on a whim, delighting in a ponytail or freefall depending entirely on her mood. Character Concept Though not a pacifist, Naomi is kind and sweet to friends and strangers. She always seeks to return a favor, whether in the moment or a year later, and never forgets a face. However, she is not naïve. She understands the dangers of living on the road and is always prepared to defend herself, keeping a knife under her pillow. If a stranger acts a little off-putting, she has no problems asking for their reasons to bother her, though remaining polite as she does so. Her willingness to approach someone might seem to make her outgoing, but she actually prefers to remain to herself in a social setting, only speaking when spoken to. Her quiet nature and her sweet disposition might also make her appear to be a weak target, but her intelligence is extraordinary. Her ability to talk herself out of sticky situations, using her friendly charms or simply intellectual bargains, is extremely useful. These traits come in handy on the road. Naomi's heart is in travel, after all, and her life's goal is to learn as much as she can about other cultures. Her profession as a singer is only useful for its profit, though she will not deny her love for song. When she finds a town she likes, she might stay for a period of weeks or months; if she finds it boring, she will pack and leave within a few days. What is sure, however, is her love for the sun and moon, of camping out on a cool, spring evening. Her adoration of nature is unparalleled. She holds Rhaus and Caiyha very dear to her heart, frequently praying to both for their guidance and love. Naturally, she takes a firm stand against the destruction of nature and cannot stand remaining in a city whose officials believe themselves higher than Caiyha's realm. Though she has taken lovers, she only falls into a relationship with another male if he shares at least some love of the outside world. That, or she simply gets the urge to feel a man's touch. Naomi's nature to travel makes it difficult to remain with someone who has a stable occupation, however, so her love life never seems to bloom more than a night's grace. Character History Born in Zeltiva under a stable, though not wealthy, household, Naomi had the ability to obtain an education. Though she always wished to leave her home for the outdoors (quietly running to the beach without her parent's consent daily), even at the young age of thirteen, she eventually gave into their wishes at their bargain – she attended the university, she would be given a horse and singing lessons. Seemingly a good deal to the spoiled young girl, she agreed. Once she flowered into womanhood, she was sent to the university to study...well, something. Her parents asked for a useful profession, but, knowing she was going out to begin her own journey, Naomi chose to learn Auristics. It was also during this time that she decided to learn another skill: tailoring. For a few extra coins, she took up an apprenticeship in the market, learning to work with leather and cloth. Although she always had an interest in carving figurines for her mother, her tailoring skills turned her gifts into scarves, hats, and dresses. However, when her mother came down with illness in the winter of 506 AV, Naomi panicked. She took a leave of absence from the university, returning home to care for her. It seemed that the sickness had been brewing for a long time because her mother's body deteriorated quickly in the next few months. In spring of 507 AV, Naomi's beloved mother passed. To help the mourning process, her father sent her back to university, hoping her studies would keep her mind off of the death. For a time, however, Naomi's research and practices in Auristics suffered and her love of singing faltered. To help keep her mind at ease, she would take frequent walks; it seemed these affairs with nature saved her university career. It was in the trees and ocean that she found some comfort, as her father was too busy working and distant to speak with her. This relaxation allowed her mind to wander, allowed her to cry. Eventually, it allowed herself to gain closure and grasp the importance of her education. Returning to the university, body and mind, Naomi excelled once again. As her knowledge grew, she began to prepare for travels: swordsmanship, cooking, learning to ride. She ended her apprenticeship and began to sing in taverns, practicing her social performance skills. When she reached twenty-two years old, Naomi was no longer a spoiled young girl with an eye for nature. She was now an educated woman, ready to learn from the wilderness and other people, wanting to fulfill her mother's wish of seeing the vast exotic city of Ahnatep. In addition, however, Naomi wanted to satisfy her wanderlust. Her body wished to experience the cultures, sights, and sounds of a variety of cultures. She bought a journal to chart her progress and began her travels on the eve of her birthday, on the back of her horse, Ariadne, ready to face her destiny with unwavering determination. The Naked Truth [lolsgetit] General Information : 1. What is your Name? Naomi Verrys 2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? Nope. 3. How old are you? Twenty-two. 4. What is your height? Five feet and seven inches. 5. What is your weight? One hundred and twenty-something pounds. Aesthetics : 1. Describe yourself as you see yourself: I'm...a young woman? I think myself to be pretty, though not amazingly so. 2. Describe yourself as others typically see you: Well, they probably see a pale young woman. Seems I can't tan out in the sun. 3. What is your favorite body feature? My legs, I think, I've been blessed with long ones, that's for sure. 4. How physically fit are you? Oh, not terribly. Traveling has helped, but it still hurts to jog a mile. 5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? I dress plain and simple most of the time. It's easy, light, and doesn't get in the way when I'm riding or walking. Dressing up every once in a while is delightful, though, and I do love it...but only every so often. During performances is enough to suit me just fine. Family : 1. Who are your parents and what are they like? My father's name is Michael and he carves by trade. He takes education seriously and always pushed me to go to the university. My mother's name was Anna and she was a seamstress and was the same. My mother passed away a few years back, however, and my father has gotten a little quieter. I don't hear from him as often as I'd like. 2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? one, thankfully. 3. What is your extended family like? Not really sure. I know my father's family is from Syliras, but I'm not quite sure about my mother's side. 4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? Close friends are family to me, so...they are equally important. 5. Do you treat animals like family? Yes Location : 1. Where were you born? I was born in Zeltiva. 2. Where do you live now? Oh, I'm a traveler. Wherever I sleep for the night! 3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be? Hrm...I'm not sure, actually. Perhaps on Konti Isle. It seems so peaceful there. 4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time? I love to carve, so I suppose in my tent. I usually relax by carving figurines before sleeping. 5. Where do you fear to be? Ahh, in a ritual sacrifice. It seems silly, but I'm sure it happens all of the time. Traits : 1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs)? Not that I know of. I'm pretty frail when it comes to physical exertion, but I can handle my own for a short while. 2. I'm learning the Ancient Tongue, but I'm awful at it so far...but no, I don't have an accent. 4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I bite my lower lip when I'm thinking! Right in the corner here. Some people think it's cute, but it always got my father annoyed. 5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them)? Ohh, perhaps one day! I think tattoos are absolutely splendid pieces of culture, but I'm just not quite sure where I'd get them. Occupations : 1. What is your occupation? I'm a traveling singer. 2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why? Oh, I love my work! It's fun and it's easy to find a few extra coins in taverns along the way. 3. I wish I had the brains to be a true astronomer. I've no patience for it, but it is so frustratingly interesting. 5. What occupation do you least like? Why?
