While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

When the light first fell her back had settled. Ivory colored knobs; bone held taut by mushed marrow sank into the diamond ridges. Hollowed carvings laced into the body of deep brown bark, which climbed up the length of the tree's elegant form. A younger, not yet lend to ware; a weight on its shoulders which caused its limbs to grow gnarled and twisted as bulbous clumps of withered flesh settled into spindly appendages. Even so, its arms were outstretched, reaching for the final rays of light that streaked across the sky, before diving towards the earth. A bed of uneven terrain grown cool and tightly packed with the fading illumination coupled with the shifting of the seasons. Aello looked up through their ceiling, the open spaces left with the departure of their adornments. Leaves having transformed from a typical deep green shade to rough crimsons and fiery oranges. The occasional gold, before everything was stripped of them. Leading supportive veins to grow dark alongside shriveling flesh, dying now that moisture no longer trickled through their veins. Their skin crackling as it tore away from stems.
The huntress took note of the sky's shade. A majestic purple dancing alongside a tulip's pink, and a rich yellow. With undertones of lighter hues, a hint of sky's typical blue. Her lips curled into a delicate smile, as a slight glimmer leapt into her muddied irises. Lending them a soft sparkle as she placed her pack at her side. Against the roots of her tree, before allowing her father's old bow to settle atop its brow. It is nice to finally stop for the night. To enjoy the sunset for a change, instead of marching on through, the huntress thought to herself as she pulled an apple out of her pocket. The skin glossed, now that it had been shined with the constant jostling of its rounded form against her leg, and its cotton encasement. It was a soft green; one that seemed as though it had been bleached, and then tossed into the light of the sun. As her fingers enshrouded it, she lifted it to her lips, allowing them to press against its smooth flesh lightly a moment. Speckled with small white dots, largely unnoticeable. She closed her eyes then, and then parted her lips, allowing them to meet with a wall of white marble stones.
Gingerly, Aello bit into the apple, the juice trickling down the length of her tongue as the whitened flesh fell into her mouth. She chewed thoughtfully, enjoying the sweet sensation that twirled about her tongue. Awakening the buds which lined as she opened her eyes with the birth of the wind. Lightly tousling her long mane of chestnut colored hair. She could feel it swaying against her neck. The frayed edges tickling her skin, as she allowed herself to truly drink in the night. Enjoy it.

It didn't take long for the young Kelvic to start to wonder how far they have traveled. Indeed, his traveling companions were interesting, yet scary, but at times Itt didn't feel very amused. It seemed that the half of a man didn’t want much to do with him and the dog that he owned was lazy and didn’t pay much heed to him either. No other man or woman would stop to ask who he was or how he became a part of this journey. So in essence, Itt was bored.
He wasn’t able to pay attention much to the wonderful birds around them since they had been moving all day, on their horses. Trotting around the trees and not stopping to smell the roses as Itt would have liked. The boy had his head back against the tree he was laying against, the dwarf’s cloak wrapped around him. It was strange having a coat now that he hadn’t had one in a fairly long time. It didn’t necessarily feel good or bad to have it, it’s just it felt rather funny on his skin. Being use to just having a belt on his waist or have nothing on at all, being mostly covered was a semi-new experience. It was warm, nonetheless, and he appreciated the man being generous but…he didn’t really want it. But apparently he wasn’t supposed to walk around without it.
Somnus watched the tree branches above waiting to see a sign of a bird or some other living thing. His face slowly grew a wide grin as he watched a silhouette of a winged creature fly from one branch to another, disappearing behind the trunk. Itt had always loved birds, being one to have one of those ridiculous dreams to fly. He wished he was taught how to read so he could learn from books how these birds were able to glide through the air. But for now, he had to observe and try and find a bird that was willing to show him.
The sloth pulled his head down and looked over at Bob and Jenson. It was either that they were resting or they were looking over at others. Itt couldn’t tell, he was facing their backs. And since they weren’t paying attention, Itt decided to do a little “scouting”, giving him an excuse to climb the tree.
Shedding the cloak, Itt stood up and glanced over at them again. Still not paying attention. The Kelvic looked up at the lowest branch that he can reach. Finding one he can jump to, he quickly walked under it and jumped, grasping the bark with his fists. The leaves rustled slightly and the boy let out a soft grunt as he pulled an arm up on it, then the other, then his leg. Sitting up, his legs dangling from the branch, he peaked down at the group, only the few around them noticing Itt, not including his acquaintances. With a small smirk, he looked up again. Grasping the branch again, he pulled his feet up to stand and took hold of the next branch. Scooting closer to the trunk, he kicked his feet up to walk up the trunk and wrap his legs around the branch he had a firm grip on. After doing so, he pulled himself right side up, then repeating this process up the branches. Once the branches started to bend too much for the boy to climb up, he sat down, looking through the other trees branches and down at the ground ahead of him.
It was quite the view for the sloth considering it was unlike the all familiar one he got back home. His smile spread from ear to ear as he leaned against the trunk as if a person shoulder. He was able to see more of the awakened bids from the branches then from the ground. Not many of them however, but a few nevertheless, and Itt enjoyed it. Somnus also liked the look of the ground from above. Everyone was so small and the trees seemed to be growing at an angle in a way. Yet, the boy liked to look over the tops of the trees better, and he wasn‘t able to get such a view from this particular tree. He needed a taller tree.
Itt looked from side to side to find a larger tree for a better view. Bigger trees had thicker trunks and it wasn’t hard to pick one that he figured would be higher. He climbed down several branches to the longer ones so it was easier to grab onto the next tree’s branches, since they can overlap and grow near one another. After doing so, he looked at the nearest branch that was easily within reach. Inching closer to the end of the branch, but not going as far as he would have if it was earlier this season. He wouldn’t want to fall again. Wobbling a bit as he balanced on the branch, the slow boy looked at the branch, then reach. A firm grip took hold of the tree bark as his legs left the old one. The wood bent under his weight, making Itt worry that it might snap. Luckily, he had taken hold of it close enough to the trunk that it was strange enough to support him. With a sigh of relief, the boy scooted himself closer to the trunk.
Glancing down, he saw a branch just below. Allowing one hand let go, his legs tried to make contact with the branch before letting go. Somnus’s grip loosened and slipped of the branch, his feet landing on the branch a foot or so below. A crack sounded as the branch was about to give in. Quickly, to Itt’s standards, he took hold another one next door and let his legs off of the previous branch, hanging there for a moment.
Seeing the splintering wood at the base of the branch, he was glad he got off. He had to go up a branch in order to get to another one he could reach. Itt jumped from said reachable branch to the next tree, almost to his destination. A few leaves fell during this climbing and jumping process, but Itt wasn’t trying to be stealthy. Maybe he should be…
Something had caught Itt’s attention when he stopped to look for his next branch. The cracking of a branch or something being eaten? It was a soft crunch, so it had to be close in order for Itt to have heard it. Either way, it got Itt curious and he scanned the ground. It wasn’t ahead of him, nor to his sides. He looked behind him and saw he had passed the person eating an apple. He tilted his head, wondering what this person was doing out here alone. Was she also with a group and had moved away briefly like he had? Somnus just stared in slightly confusion and curiosity…

Between each bite of her apple, Aello could hear a rustling of the branches. Their sharpened nails grinding against their multitude of arms as they trembled in the wind's wake. Beneath the weight of the Kelvic. As her ears prickled, and her eyes narrowed, sharpening her gaze, the huntress could just begin to make out the sight of wooden shards falling to the earth with inaudible sighs. The naked boy which rested in a tree a few down from where she sat. Slowly, she lowered her hand, pulling the apple's shined flesh away from her pale pink lips.
Gracefully, her muddied irises trailed over his naked form. Taking in the sight of him- big brown eyes, a tanned hide. A lithe frame of shorter stature than himself, and the tiniest hands, and yet, his fingers seemed nimble enough. Considering how well he seemed to climb. After all, he was fairly high up.
A delicate smile crossed Aello's lips, lending a glimmer to her eyes. "Well hello," the huntress called as the wind whistled, causing the leaves that partially shrouded the boy to dance about his form. "What are you doing up there?" she asked as her eyes darted back to her largely eaten apple, wondering if he'd want the rest.
He looked like he needed it.
