Once he passed through the doors of the Vestibule Thomas would find himself in the foreboding area known as the Courtyard. The Follower golem would pay no mind to the various spirits and ghosts that blinked by, reaching forward trying to grasp at Thomas' clothes and hair. Nor did it seem to bother the little golem the wails and forlorn calls that existed in this place, as if they were trying to warn Thomas of something, to tell him to turn back or end up just like them... Instead The Follower lead Thomas down path rimmed by protective iron rods. Along the way a woman could be seen kneeling over various graves, the look she gave Thomas one who was evaluating a new pet soon to be in her grasp.

Reaching a fork in the path the golem would lead Thomas to the left, traveling down to another set of double doors that opened without prompting. Thomas would find himself in a long hallway, cages and cells on either side that held test subjects of various species. Some stood in their cages, reaching through the bars and warning him to turn back, others were too tired or worn to do more than stare as Thomas walked by. The boy would find mostly humans in the cells, though a few kelvics were there and even an especially mad Jamoura that pulled at the chains around his neck and wrists that kept him pinned to the wall. Though once again the Follower would pay it no mind, leading Thomas to the very end of the hallway, turning down a corridor that was barren and empty. Torches lit this path, and the smooth path quickly began to grow more rough and jagged as the corridor quickly transition to the opening of some form of cavern. Here the Follower would stop, squeaking, "Follow the arrows, follow the arrows" before turning and rolling away.

Thomas would find glowing arrows along the floor and walls, leading him to different destinations throughout the Caverns beneath the Citadel. Over each arrow there was a label that said which lab this path lead to, and he simply had to follow the arrows that lead to Lab 15.

OOCOk you go the rest of the way. The path to different levels are slanted, some steeper than others, but it will be an obvious change and depth as you go deeper in. It is about a 20-30 minute walk to Lab 15. Good luck!

Golem Masters of Sahova (Thomas Cosa)

Postby Thomas Cosa on November 17th, 2012, 7:07 pm

Thomas quickly went after the golem-mouse, passing the Vestibule, only to find himself in a fog-covered graveyard. He instinctively stayed to the winding path, slight whispers and stiffiled moans barely reaching his ears. The fog washed over the young animator, and he shivered, feeling unnerved. The fog itself was cold, freezing -- and yet, somehow, Thomas remained dry. He picked up the pace, feeling watched and refusing to move his eyes from the Follower. This was not the ideal place to get lost.

The moans and whispers grew louder as Thomas reached a fork, the Follower going down the left path. The novice wizard glanced over to the right, glancing an older woman kneeling over a grave. She was a decripted Nuit -- obviously in need of a new body, and Thomas wasn't exactly keen on the way she looked at him.

He kept on the Follower, forcing the golem-mouse to move faster.

"You will die, here," a voice called out to his left, Thomas turned to find no one.

"Ruuuuuuu," another moaned

"Leave and do not return to this place," a final voice cried out to Thomas. The young animator refused to turn to the voice, keeping straight. It was normal to have worries, but Thomas had no doubts about his decision to come to the undead isle. His faith and trust in Avalis was strong -- this is where he was meant to be, and if he would die here, Thomas believed Avalis would give him warning enough to leave.

He wouldn't die here.

Thomas would follow the Follower down the left path, up to another set of doors that opened without prompt.

"Follow, follow," The golem repeated, unaware or perhaps uncaring of the world around it. Thomas on the other, was not so lucky. Soft sobs echoed off the cold stone walls, warnings were whispered fearfully as the young animator passed the cages, refusing to look.

He passed humans and collared animals alike -- even a Jamura chained, but still, Thomas dared not to look. Gods know what he might see if he had. What he might try to See.

"Slaves. They're all slaves," He thought to himself, an attempt to seperate those caged from his own identity.

He would not be caged.

Thomas nodded at the small golem, and turned to follow the glowing arrows. The passage turned quickly from smooth to rocky, growing darker with each step. Soon, Thomas was forced to keep one hand to the wall, refusing to let go till the next arrow came into view.

It took the youth half an hour to reach Lab 15, and once again the door opened without prompt.

"Hello?"

OOCHope that's alright! I'll change anything if there's any issues.

OOCNope that was great :). Sorry I forgot to provide the link to the location write up before XD

Thomas would find himself looking into a chamber almost too large to be believed could exist this far beneath the Citadel. Through the door he would step onto a balcony that overlooked a bustling and busy workspace. Men and women moved about the large and very impressive Lab 15. In the center of the lab a golem of monstrous preparations took up 1/4 of the available floor space, though no one seemed to be working on it.

The balcony that Thomas stood on wrapped around the entire lab. On the other side of the balcony there seemed to be several large openings in the cave wall that lead to sleeping areas for the residents of the lab. All around the main floor there were tables filled with gadgets and partially finished golems. Tools hung on the walls, half finished peacekeepers and Overseeers stood in corners and beside tables. Other types of golems never before seen lay upon tables where the adept hands of the many apprentices worked on them diligently. This lab was perhaps the busiest of all the labs in Sahova. Its one and only purposes was to design and build golems for the Citadel, and those within this chamber were in fact the best of the best.

In the center of the lab two men stood giving directions, looking over diagrams, talking to nuits and pulsers alike as they rushed about doing this and that. They stood near the feet of the giant golem at a large workbench with blueprints and many leaflets of paper upon it. They were apparently in charge of this entire operation. A set of stairs to Thomas' right would take him down to the main floor, and he would have to navigate the many moving bodies and golems to reach the masters of Lab 15.

Golem Masters of Sahova (Thomas Cosa)

"Shyke...," Thomas whispered, tightly gripping the rails of the balcony. The cavernous workshop was massive, noise of all kinds echoing throughout. Various tools hung from the walls, massive collections of woods and metals weighting to be used to create something novel. Thomas slowly scanned the entirety of the cavern, his eyes drawing immediately to the massive automaton in the middle.

It took up no less then a fourth of the available room in the workshop, and was obviously the most impressive work in Lab 15 - it puzzled Thomas that no one appeared to be working on the monstrosity.

Walking down the balcony, Thomas found the two Nuit who appeared most in charge, hoping they were the famous duo, Filch and Kromby.

"Masters Filch and Kromby?" The young animator asked, clearly unsure of who he was actually talking too. "I...just arrived to Sahova. I was hoping to arrange some kind of apprenticeship with you?"

The man with wild hair looked up from his papers, raising an eyebrow at the boy that approached, "Well know who are you? A new recruit?" He turned and nudged the nuit beside him, "Hey Filch, did you request another apprentice be sent to us?"

Filch looked up from his own papers, a strange device over one eye that looked like half a goggle, though his eye appeared to be overly large through it, "Of course I did, why else would he be here? Put him to work we need more pulsers moving parts from the west side." With that he returned to his papers, scribbling hurried notes while he muttered under his breath.

With a sigh the other man, obviously Kromby, turned to address Thomas, "Well then I suppose you ARE supposed to be here. What is your name boy?"

Golem Masters of Sahova (Thomas Cosa)

"Thomas Cosa," he replied animatedly, his face brimming with excitement. "I've just only come from Mura, Master Krombly -- and I have to say, I'm incredibly excited to have the opportunity to apprentice for both you and Master Filch." Thomas said, nodding towards the other Nuit. The young animator took a second to examine the odd machine attached to the Filch's face. It reminded him of pair of goggles, although the Master was obviously missing the other half. The machine also enlarged Filch's eye -- perhaps in an attempt to better see the designs he was planning?

"I was hoping to get start animating, but if you need people to move parts, I can do that too," Thomas nodded his head, adding, "Is there anything I should know before starting? I think I notice some beds," he motioned to the caves above, "Is that were I'll be staying?"

Kromby nodded at Thomas spoke, only really paying attention to half of what was actually said. His attention seemed to drift from the papers in his hands to the work on the table and to those around the room. After a little too long pause Kromby looked back at Thomas, "Ah very good very good. Right now we need more hands moving parts about the lab. He waved his hands at a nearby workbench where another man was working, "There now go see Sid. He will be giving you directions for now."

Just as quickly as it had started the conversation was ended with little questions answered, but then again the place was rather busy, so perhaps this Sid person would be more informative?

Golem Masters of Sahova (Thomas Cosa)

Postby Thomas Cosa on November 21st, 2012, 10:47 pm

Thomas nodded hesitantly, the young wizard had honestly expected to be shown around the cavernous lab by the two masters. Marked by Avalis at a young age, Thomas grew up as the center of attention. Especially in Syliras, it wasn't uncommon for his neighbors or even some of the more distinguished of the residents to come to him for advice. He was used to being treated well, and definitly not to being ignored. Even in Mura, where Avalis mark was common enough, Thomas was at least acknowledge; Here, in Sahova, he had been hesitant to tell anyone of his mark, however, should his treatment continue this way, Thomas couldn't help it should the information slip out some way.

The young animator continued towards the man named Sid, stopping at odd intervals, catching glimpses of the most fascinating things. Humans and Nuits alike were constructing golems, designing models -- it's didn't escape his eyes that the humans in general weren't exactly in the best shape. Some of them hardly looked any better then the Nuit.

Thomas arrived to the workbench, observing the man work before saying anything. Whatever it was, Sid was just beginning -- or just finishing. Thomas was no expert when it came to gadgeteering, never taking much interest in that part of animation.

"Excuse me, you're Sid, right?" Thomas asked, speaking with considerably less formality then he had used with the two Nuits, "Masters Filch and Kromby sent me to you for direction."

Sid was a man of medium build, about 5'7 in height with a shiny bald head. A scraggly beard fell to his chest, and the look in his eyes was concentration and steady focus. Like all of the pulsers of the island Sid was showing signs of malnutrition. Once toned muscles sagged, and dark circles lay under his bright green eyes.

Leaning back from his work he would look at Thomas, a mixture of confusion and surprise in his expression as he glanced at Kromby and Filch. Scratching his beard he spoke in a gruff tone, "Dumped ya on me did they? Typical. Like I don't have enough to do." Wiping his hands on a cloth Sid leaned against the workbench, crossing his arms and giving Thomas an examining look, "Yeah I'm Sid. Assistant to Filch and watcher of the new meat. Who are you?" He paused, sighing and pulling at his beared, "No a better question would be why the petch you came here in the first place. This ain't exactly paradise for the living, so you must have a good reason right?" he waved a hand at his own features to emphasize his point.

Clearing his throat Sid would wait for an answer.

Golem Masters of Sahova (Thomas Cosa)

Postby Thomas Cosa on November 22nd, 2012, 8:07 pm

"I don't think most people come to Sahova for a vacation," Thomas said, giving Sid a quick once-over. The undead isle had obviously taken it's toll on the middle aged man. It was apparent that the master's apprentice had once been musculer, perhaps even attractive, the harsh conditions of the eternal island taking everything save his determination. The gadgeteer's skin sagged, and tugged at his face, signs of malnutrition ate away at his body. Sid wore a tired face, deep dark bags tugging at his eyes.

"I've come to study animation and golem-building. Obviously, Sahova was my first choice after I became more learned about the former. I'm from Syliras naturally, I don't know if you know much about the fortress but magic isn't really looked at...with a warm dispostion," the young wizard said, the last few words weighing heavy. "I also have an interest in Pre-Valterrian history; what was and all that. I figure Sahova would be a good place to start, with all the Nuit here, I figure some of them must of been around before the Valterrian," Thomas paused, taking another look around the giant lab, he wore a face of astonishment. Nothing the young animator had seen in his short life even compared to what he was seeing now. This was Sahova, this is what he came for.

"Thomas, by the way," he added thoughtfully, extending his arm. "What's your story?"
