While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

The Konti shrugged when Bob asked her why she didn’t seem affected by the disease around them. It never really occurred to her until he asked, but now that he did, she assumed it was because Rak’keli’s power chased away the mundane symptoms that the plague started off as.

“I suppose it’s because of Mother Rak’keli,” she told him. Nira’lia wasn’t sure if he was aware that she was blessed with her mark. The end of the serpent symbols on her shoulder was easily seen where her sleeve didn’t cover it, so she assumed that most people knew. “The disease can easily be avoided if the starting symptoms are taken care of,” she added in a mutter. “I don’t understand where all of this disease is coming from, though… getting to the bottom of it would be good.”

Nira’lia had sensed the uneasiness in the camp. Gradually, people were getting sick. They were out in the wilds where the air was fresh, they weren’t in a cramped city where rodents hid in the creaks of houses and disease was easily amplified—it didn’t make sense to her.

Thoughts about the plague were soon lost when they went to the task of exploring the clearing. Nira’lia laughed at Bob’s words, though she did wonder if he was messing with her. “Eucalyptus!” she said more clearly. “Not platypus… silly man! It’s a nice smelling plant!”

She saw him back away from something. Curiously, she looked towards the direction she was looking at. Poison Ivy! She remembered a not-so-distant event when he had gathered the wretched plant, and she was glad to see that he had learned his lesson.

“Well, I’ll tell you if there are other things to avoid, but I don’t really see anything harmful aside from the ivy…” she told Bob. “I’m nowhere near an expert, though. You should still be wary.”

Nira’lia grinned at him as she tried to figure out how they could go about this. She had left her herbalism book back in her tent, and she had to rely on stock knowledge… and self-discovery!

“Perhaps we can just search for the nice smelling ones?” she asked absently, most of her attention lost in her thoughts. “I bet… we can also figure out which ones would be easier to make into soap…? Or just get a bunch and experiment…?”

She played with the petals of a lavender flower. They were soft and seemed to be easily mixed with liquid concoctions. Nira’lia held up a stem and gestured at it.

“See…? I mean, this seems like it would be a nice ingredient.”

"Mother Rak'keli?" Oh she meant that healing goddess for all the kontis in Mura. Even if that is the case "I don't think she is around here do you?" unless Nira'lia meant because she as a konti was around, which is good mostly for her. Bob figured that she meant she was marked or something but what about him? His own mark of randomity would probably make a superplague for all he knew if he tried to use it for that. "Even if she is around I don't think she'd have any reason to help me" since he does not even care much about medicine things his uncle has been trying to get him to do since he was a child, even until now. "Unless..." and this was taking it really, really stupidly just because "...you've been helping me to get rid of my symptoms?" but then why so shy about his suggestions earlier? Although, "it might be better if we can get it all over the camp though" so that everyone will be alright, with a few exceptions of course.

Yeah it was kind of weird that some of the biggest psychotics he has ever met were also allowed to come by the very serious Syliran Knights or by the very smart scholars of Zeltiva but still they ever not his concern. The soap was since there was a risk that the plague would get him eventually the way it was going. For that they needed things to make it like the "Eucalyptus, of course. Which one is that?" Bob asked in case Nira'lia would point it out for him or he would just wait until she took it herself so he can have a look. It was not like he expected though since he was under the impression that the only plants that can smell nice are either flowers, or food but this? It was a tree! Without a doubt it smelled nice when Bob went closer to take a sniff but "are you sure?" he asked plucking a leaf and dropping it right away because it felt so wet. It even looked wet so why did Bob even take it? Oh right it was because he spotted the flowers it was hiding when he did. "We only have to take this right?"

Bob was still wary when he tried to take the flowers though. They were all bright, like when he was taught that the bright plants, like animals can mean danger. This one was not only bright, it was also hairy but with all the assortment of colours he tried to take the white and cream ones. Taking a little bit since the konti talked about experimenting first Bob barely had a handful when he went back to her with the flower she was with. "This? What is this?" Bob asked looking between the ones he had in his hands and hers. "I have no idea what is that you're taking" he stated making no secret about his lack of knowledge. "If you want to experiment I think these two would be enough unless you want to take some of the others you know nothing about?" which were most of the ones he saw when he looked around the clearing and pausing longer at the poison ivy. "We're going to need gloves...and I'm sure that Jinsen wouldn't mind testing it for us" looking at the unknowing dog that was rolling around nearby.

“Hm? Rak’keli isn’t here…” answered the Konti adamantly. She couldn’t feel the presence of her Goddess, so she knew. “I have her first mark so I’m safer than most. If you get sick, I can help you.”

Nira’lia blinked as she looked at Bob by the eucalyptus leaves. She didn’t really know if it was the flowers they needed. While Bob went about his task, she gathered up lavender in her hands as well. The scent was sweet and soft, unlike Eucalyptus which had a menthol scent.

The Konti was further away from the eucalyptus, so she left that to Bob. Nira’lia had no way of knowing that it was the leaves that were usually gathered for its smell. She wouldn’t learn this unless they made the discovery. When he came back with the flowers, she tried seeing if they smelled nice—and they did, but it wasn’t as strong as she expected. She couldn’t help but wonder if it would be better to take the leaves.

“Did you see if the leaves smell good as well?” inquired the Konti. “I vaguely remember that we use the leaves to make food smell nice, so…”

Nira’lia looked deep in though. Taking the Eucalyptus flowers were fine with her, after all, they were just experimenting. She looked at Jinsen with a sheepish smile—he would be their unwitting victim. The Konti just hoped that their soap would turn out good.

“Oh, yes, we should use gloves… I think lye is bad for the skin. Shall we?” asked the Konti as she stood up. She held a handful of lavender. If Bob decided to take some of the Eucalyptus leaves as well, she would wait.
