A former Ravokian slave struck with dispassion and wanderlust in his later years, Rilian has been alone since the Massive Djed Storm of 512. Despite being distrustful of humans, he is irrevocably drawn to civilization and even enjoys crowds. For a Kelvic, Rilian can seem surprisingly upright and dignified, but this is a learned behavior. He has a penchant for stealing, possesses only the vaguest sense of morality, and is almost incapable of pity. Rilian believes only in what he can see and touch, and forgets everything else.
- appearance -
[human seeming]
In his human form, Rilian is tall and thin, standing at an even six feet. He has severe, pointed features, slate blue eyes, and light skin with dark hair. Patches of silver have become visible near his temples, showing his age. On the top of his left hand is a brand burned into his skin, a black half-sun, marking him as a Ravokian slave.
Either as a touch of avian narcissism or a simple fascination with animal pelts, Rilian usually dons a heavy, leather-backed cloak sporting a collar of slick, black feathers. It's his prized possession, and it makes him feel closer to his true form.

[avian seeming]
Rilian's true form is that of a twenty-pound, high-flying vulture. It is by no means an attractive animal, possessing a nearly bald head and neck. Around the base of the neck is a collar of bushy white feathers, not unlike his feather tufted cloak. Gold eyes are set in a remorseless, unfeeling gaze. The rest of his plumage is a dusky gray with scattered highlights of white. He boasts a wingspan just shy of eight feet, built for sustaining flight for long periods of time.
- history -
Looking back on his life, Rilian has few regrets. He has at least one daughter called Nils, who he hasn't seen in well over a decade, but sometimes remembers fondly. Once, Rilian had a bondmate, and watched over him for the majority of his life until it ended. It left him disillusioned, but without the capacity to understand the depth of his heartbreak. His escape from Ravok was rather by chance, and he doesn't even consider it an escape so much as a sudden decision to leave. He has no intention of returning.
