Market day. So many people running around, shops selling anything and everything. Falconry equipment, weapons, trinkets, really anything which an Inarta could desire. Niro found himself wandering from stall to stall, perusing, but nothing really caught his eye. Not worth trading his precious pinions for. The hunter had little to offer in way of barter but their form of currency, so for now, he would hold onto them. He was just killing time until he went to disappear in a haze of drugs and alcohol, anyways.

Never one to be considered terribly observant, today's endeavor would be gift wrapped for him. With the racial trait of red hair deeply bred into their kind, anything different would stick out. Sure, there were some darker browns, or even blacks which would show themselves from time to time, but that indicated in many cases a tainted blood. Mixed blood. Not a true Inarta. But this? This was new, this was spectacular.

This was blond.

She was blond.

Niro paused mid sentence with a shop keeper he'd been conversing with, his gaze fixated on the light haired shopper. No, no, I've not seen her before. What do we have here? Waving dismissively at the salesman, he began making his way over towards where she shopped. Slow and deliberate was his pace, and a ridiculous grin plastered his face. The fiery Avora had his mark, but for now, it was time to study.

She seemed to be struggling with her Nari in an attempt to purchase from a clothing salesman. Niro had had some exchanges with the man before. He was almost as racist as the young hunter had ever seen. He knew common, but he refused to speak with outsiders in it. So while the woman fumbled through the conversation with the annoyed shopkeeper, Niro moved ever closer, listening to her speak until he could step in and be the hero. "Bryda. You want say Bryda." He common was heavily accented and imperfect, but he knew it well enough. "Man give problems?" He inquired, glancing over at the shop keep. Niro to save the day. I'm the best.

Today was market day for Wind Reach and everyone was here buying goods for the next two weeks. Iosha just another consumer decided this was the day, she would actually going to try dressing like a Inartan. Making her way through the crowd, she hears merchants of all types barking their wears to whoever passing by. Iosha seen stands of all types glass makers, weapon smiths, food merchants, and clothing tents. She doesn't see any foreign shops though. Iosha figured this time of year, foreign merchants wouldn't risk there merchandise coming to a out of the way settlement like Wind Reach in the winter. She saw a glass merchant waving to her to come over to him. She stopped in the middle of the crowd and turned to face the merchant. By the look of him, he was a middle aged human with red hair that was starting to turn white. She walked over with a smile on her face, and said to the man in common, “What are you selling Sir?” She looks around and sees a assortment of glass jewelry and assortment ornaments on the shelves and on the table. She picks up a glass beaded necklace and stares at the design in the middle of bead. The merchant gently takes the necklace away from her and shakes his head, no. He sticks up his finger for a moment to get her attention and says in crude common with a smile, “Pretty..girl like you. Won't look perfect in necklace. One second till I..err locate right one for you, Pretty Lady.”

Iosha watched the merchant bent down behind the bar and pulled out a wooden case. He opened the lid of the case and pulled out a glass beads necklace with violet designs in the glass beads, but towards the center is a large glass bead with a design of a violet eagle in the center of the bead. It was a magnificent piece of art, and if she doesn't buy it now. She knew it would be sold in the matter of hours. The merchant smiles at her and says in crude common, “I see you like very much. The color matches eyes. Please buy. You won't regret.” Iosha looked at the amount of pinions it will cost and her eyes widen in shock. She knew she will regret it later. She pulled out her money pouch and gave him the amount need to buy the necklace. The merchant took the money and put it into coffer. He grabbed a nice wooden case from under the table. The merchant smiled at her and tapped the case, “You bought necklace made for Endal. You must protect pretty necklace with sturdy, strong, pretty box. Since you are so pretty, I give to you...for fifteen pinions.”

Iosha just stared at him. She just bought a expensive necklace made for a Endal, and he wanted me to buy a jewelry box too! She frowned at the price of the wooden box and said to him with a smile, “I'll give you ten..” She stuck up both of her hands indicating ten if he didn't understand. The merchant shook his head, no. He smiled, taps the box again, and haggles again, “I give to you for thirteen pinion, but no less.” Iosha looked at the box and noticed the rosewood is delicately designed and stained. It is big enough to hold a decent amount of jewelry. It is worth the fifteen pinions, but Iosha needed to make her money last the season. Iosha stuck out her hand and said softy with a half grin, “I will give you twelve pinion for the box. If you say no, I will take my jewelry and walk away.” The middle aged merchant laughed, took her hand, and said, “Deal.. pretty lady. You want wear it, or should I put in case?” Iosha pays him the money for the box, and he wrapped it in a cloth and tied it up for her. Iosha took the box from him, smiled at him, and said softly, “Well says I paid a fortune for it. I might as well wear it.” He handed her the necklace, and she puts it around her neck. The merchant saw another customer walking over, and he said to her, “Come again pretty lady.”

Holding the box in her left hand, she bit her lip as she started to get buyers remorse from the last purchase. She was now looking for a merchant that sold clothing. She walked up to the tent and she saw racks of shirts Inarta woman commonly wear. She was sure the name of the shirt, but she figured money is the best translator in these situations. She grabbed a plain Inarta shirt and pair of black flowing pants. She walked over to merchant standing behind the table. He glanced at her for a moment and took the money from another Inarta woman. Iosha noticed the merchant and walked up to him, and said in common, “Excuse me Master merchant. I need some help. I need these pants in the color violet if you do can I have one in silk?” She held up the pants hoping they could help him understand she wanted and needed from him. The merchant gave her a annoyed glare and said nothing to her. He turned his back on her and helped another customer. She frowned to herself realizing he is blatantly ignored her. She was about to cause a scene, but she saw a young man step besides her and she heard him say bryda. Still holding the merchandise, Iosha saw a handsome teenager standing next to her. He asked if she was having any trouble with the merchant. Iosha frowned and shot a angry look at the merchant than back to the young man. She blew a piece of hair from her face and said to him with a hint of annoyance in her voice, “Yes, I think he is blatantly ignoring me. I don't understand why since I have the money to pay him.”

The woman was quite irritated by the shop keep, and that was all fine and dandy by the young hunter. The annoyance she displayed would only mean that once Niro was the hero, he'd have a better chance of getting what he wanted. Niro the hero. I love it. That's what I'll be known as soon. Walking with a ridiculous strut, Niro made his way over to the merchant as he spoke to the Konti. "Yes. He rude. Not like Niro." He nodded, puffing his chest out. "I am helping." He turned his focus to the merchant, puffing up his chest before letting out a string of whistles and chirping noises of the wonderful Nari language.

"Why are you treating this lady like shyke! She's got the money to pay you, you dirty vagik! You're holding up me getting lucky, and that pisses me off. So why don't you just take the blond woman's money, give her the pants and be done with her!" Niro had shoved his face in the face of the merchant, his scrawny frame anything but intimidating. The man gave Niro a shove to back him off before retorting. "She's an outsider. I don't wish to deal with her! So get out of here!"

Niro's cheeks flushed red as he again re entered the man's personal space, his fists balled ready to throw down. "Listen here! I'm going to keep on bothering you until you sell to her. I'll bother your customers. I'll make scene. I. Will. Fight. You." He crossed his arms. "So you can work with the woman, or you can deal with me. Vagik."

The man paused for a moment, looking at the ridiculous young Inarta. He wasn't anything if not brash. Sighing, he turned to the Konti. "What was it you needed?" Niro looked to the blond woman, a smirk on his lips.

I'm awesome.

Glaring at the shopkeeper, Iosha couldn't help, but notice a cocky young man in his late teens walk over to her and said he will help. What almost made her bust out laughing was his ridiculously strut and the way the skinny young man displays his chest for her like a male bird courting a mate. She bit her lip to stop from laughing out loud as he started barking out demands towards the shop keep in Nari. She raised an questioning eyebrow as the young Niro started getting into the face of the shop keep. She started to hear people stop and crowd around the scene. Feeling awkward, Iosha started to think that she should apologize to the crowd for the incident. However, as the young man intensify his outburst at the merchant. Iosha couldn't help herself from turning red with embarrassment and decided to stay silent. This was not what she wanted, but the young man insists on helping her. She can't help, but wonder if he is trying to be a hero. It is a silly notion, but it wouldn't be the first time a man tried to impress her with this type of “heroics”.

When the shopkeeper turned his gaze on Iosha, she could tell he was annoyed, but for the sake of shutting the young man up. He gave into his demands and asks what she needs to find. Iosha figured she could thank the young Niro later, so she gently puts a hand on Niro shoulder and giave him a friendly pat. She walked up to the shopkeeper and said, “Hello again master merchant. I will repeat my order for you. I need a violet bryda in silk and I would also like a...oh what did Keah call it...vantay….vontie, vuntay, no it is called vanati!” She slammed her fist into her palm in excitement when she figured out the name of the shirt. She continued on before she forget, “I would like the silk vanati to match the color of the pants and it needs to be strapless too.” She figured she needed a more practical outfit for around the town and she said to him, “My second order will be a cotton vanati and bryda. I would like the colors to be sky blue. Yes, I think I am done with my order.” The shop keep noded understanding what she needed for her outfit. He decides to make a suggestion in common, “If you want to look Inarta, you need scarves to match your outfits. I will find you a white cotton scarf for your cotton outfit, and the other scarf, I have a violet silk scarf with gold embroidery throughout it. If you like, I will give you both the outfits and the scarves for twenty-four pinions. What do you say Konti, do you and I have a deal?”

The merchant looked at Niro for a moment and narrowed his eyes, “If you want, I can throw in a gag for free if you decide to muzzle your boyfriend here.” Iosha raised an eyebrow and slowly looked at Niro. She turned to the shop keep and states, “He is not my boyfriend. No I think that isn't necessary. He was just trying to help. In his own...well....special way.” The man behind the table snorted and said to her, “Wait right here while I locate your merchandise, Konti.” The merchant glared at Niro again. However before he walked away to find what she needed, he decided to blatantly hit Niro with his shoulder as he walked bye. Iosha hoped this action wouldn't start a fight, but to be safe, she decided to play peacekeeper and tried to distract Niro from his new rival. She turned to Niro and gave him a warm smile and said, “Thank you for... the help Niro. I was surprised you took such a direct approach, but it seemed like you intimated him quite well. By the way, my name is Avora Iosha Moonchaser.”

A shame this cut off so soon! Niro, you're hilarious, as always. Iosha, you always seem so calm and graceful. Please subtract forty six pinions for the necklace (10 pinions), box and clothes. PM me if you have any questions or concerns.
