He heard, rather than saw, the resident wolfling rise from the ground and speak. Please go, people are trying to sleep he heard her say, and his heart stopped. What sort of game was she playing at?! This was Sunberth, for all they knew the guy was about to slit both their thoats, and she was potentially pissing him off by telling him he was unwanted here, challenging him.

At the same time though, it was quite an interesting move. Calm and in control of the situation, while the intruder loses the element of surprise and she gains it. She was either very smart or very stupid.

Well, now that they clearly weren't sleeping, he might as well reveal himself, too. He rose from the floor, facing the new man. The man was rugged, that much was clear. He didn't seem to have shaved in a number of days, and their hair was quite similar in color, though the intruder's wore his much shorter. He was also skinny, didn't have much of a fighters build, but that didn't necessarily mean he would be easy to take down in a fight. Some of the speediest fighters were the smallest fighters. He'd do what he could to get them all out of this unscathed, which admittedly wasn't much.

Thundiirn mentally searched, as his teacher in Zeltiva had taught him, and found the djed that lay unused within him. Welling it up from the depths, he began stepping towards the invader and looping some of it about the man's mind, blinding him from reality, weakening the man to his influence. The remainder he used to amplify his stance and wove them into his words. Standing with legs spread and arms crossed, the hypnotist planted a feeling of intimidation in the intruder's thoughts. This is my property, and you have not been invited. State your business or please depart in peace.

There. It wasn't a skilled enough application to force the man to leave, nor even that powerful. It probably would do nothing unless the man was already surprised or frightened, but thanks to the wolfling Thundiirn was counting on him to be at least a bit surprised. He wasn't all that skilled at hypnotism. This would be enough to unnoticeably amplify that surprise to intimidation. At least, he hoped it was unnoticeable, even moreso than that it worked, for if the man caught on he'd have no choice but to try and kill him. He couldn't risk talk of him being a hypnotist getting out in Sunberth.

A Not So Warm Welcome

Postby Kel Ehmry on December 21st, 2012, 3:37 am

Kel froze in his tracks, as it appeared the people he believed to be sleeping were just the opposite. First the girl rose, grabbing her sword as well. It was dark and Kel could not make out any details of the girl who stood before him as she was cast in shadow. However the moonlight reflecting off the blade gave a unique shimmer to it. Next, the man he had seen asleep in the corner had risen. Kel stood still, as various thoughts raced through his head. Profanities, ways to escape, a plan, what to say, all came up briefly in his thoughts. Calmly, the girl spoke up and broke the silence, stated that Kel ought to leave, as there were people sleeping.

Kel raised his hands up, showing the two he was unarmed and not dangerous, hopefully that would dissuade her from using that shiny blade of hers. "Apparently not..." Kel responded as the man in the corner rose to his feet. The next person to talk was the man who had just risen, asking Kel to state his business.

Kel turned toward him, trying to maintain what little composure he had left after being surprised. Despite all the thoughts racing through his head, Kel had not really figured out how he was going to get out of this one. Better just wing it. "Business? Well, I can't say there is much business besides my own blasted curiosity" Kel sighed truthfully. Maybe in this case honesty would be the best policy. "I thought the place was abandoned and well, here I am." Kel awaited their responses, and he hoped, no, he prayed, that he wouldn't end up with a blade in his gut.

A Not So Warm Welcome

Postby Natsuki on December 22nd, 2012, 6:25 am

She was not overly surprised when the owner of the house stood, someone had already broken into his house once today so it was likely to happen again. The girl lowered the sword once the intruder raised his hands in a non threatening manner, though she was not fully convinced that the stranger was unarmed. It was true that this man didn't seem like a fighter, but you could never be sure.

With an even voice the man answered Lithan's question. If she had not been in the same situation herself, Natsuki probably would not have believed him. She muttered, “That's how I ended up here...”

The kelvic looked quickly to the owner of the house wondering what he would do. If he had let her stay the night, would he let this man too? She had no problem with it, as long as he stayed quiet and let her sleep, but she also had a weapon and vicious claws while Lithan seemed to be totally vulnerable.

Thundiirn dropped the djed, but not the poker. He did not plan to let the man stay here. One visitor could be coincidence, two was tempting fate. Most likely the two were working together in some sort of scam, and while he could probably take on one of them, or at least escape alive, two was outside his range of capability right now. The hallucinogen from yesterday had left him feeling somewhat weaker than normal, not to mention he had been walking all day. Heck, at this point once he hit fully asleep they could probably slit his throat and he wouldn't wake up to scream or protest.

Well this house is occupied. Please leave. If you really are that interested, you are welcome to come back tomorrow. But not while we are sleeping.

Thundiirn was beginning to get a rush off of this. It was fun. Out of the ordinary. He had forgotten how much he loved this town. Where else but Sunberth had he ever had to convince a total stranger, who had walked in unannounced while the house's owner was sleeping, to leave his house? Granted, he'd only ever lived one other place, but he was already sure again which he preferred.

The man still stood there, unmoving not out of defiance but confusion, and Thundiirn felt a bit of boldness creeping into him. This was clearly no thug, if he wasn't judging the man entirely wrong. He honestly was just an idiot with way too big a curiosity for this place.

Were you waiting for an invitation? he asked, calmly and coldly. I said, please go.

A Not So Warm Welcome

Postby Gabriel Velox Furox Mors on December 23rd, 2012, 1:18 am

Walking around the city of Sunberth admiring somethings and ever searching for mysteries hes heard this city has Gabriel has kept mostly to himself. Except for the town had a never ending supply off thieves, murder's, and ect. and he didn't quite know how to mind his own business. Keeping his senses open and always paying attention to things going on around him. Suddenly two men were arguing, watching and listening intently as the one man had caught the other pickpocketing him. The pick pocket drew a knife and swung at the victim, being close Gabriel had stepped between the meant facing the pickpocket. Pulling down the hood his face flawless, his hair pull back out of his face, though his face was perfect his look and aura was set to ward people off. Drawing his kukri as his sack and cloak fall to the ground. "I was looking for a fight, thank you for giving me a reason. but first u will give him back what you stole from him." As people crowded around he kept alert and kept his bag between his feet. looking at the thief as he yelled many curses. The theif lunged with all his strength knife first and Gabriel blocked and quickly cut the thief's hand off. As the his hand fell to the ground a few more men appeared with various drawn. Kicking the man in the chest he turned.

One man tackled him, off his feet and in the air, thinking what strength this creature possesses as he is slammed into a cottage knocking the wind out of him. As fast as he could react he stabbed the man in the neck with his kukri, and the man fell gasping for as did Gabriel trying to regain his breath as he stood outnumbered five-to-one. Smiling despite the odds.

A Not So Warm Welcome

Kel smirked and nodded, intending to leave the two to their rest, and maybe he would take up the mans offer of coming back in the morning. Keeping his hands up, he turned and began to slowly make his way to the door. His breathing was steady but his heart was racing as he still couldn't believe that he had just done that. Almost had a sword stuck in him, or a poker, which probably would have been worse than the sword. At least the sword was clean. Dammit, I need to be be more careful around here. Why the hell didn't I just use Auristics. Sure I'm a pretty pitiful aurist, but I could have maybe detected them before even entering....well, at least I'm not dead...yet Kel thought to himself. He was stupid, but alive.

Kel exited back into the moonlight when he heard some sort of scuffling coming from down the street. From what Kel could see, it was a brawl between three men, for some unknown reason. Kel watched for several moments, seeing exactly what has happening. He couldn't make out any words being yelled between the three of them, just muffled grunts.

Kel looked back into the home he had just come from. "Hey look, I am all for leaving and letting you be, but there is a potential...situation out here that you may want to see..." Kel said as he waved the two of them over to the door.

The stranger nodded and left the small cottage but was only gone for a moment, he appeared in the doorway and made a gesture for them to come outside. “Hey look” the man said, “I am all for leaving and letting you be, but there is a potential... situation out here that you may want to see...”

Natsuki didn't like the idea of going outside at night in a town such as Sunberth; especially not stark naked and in a weak, useless body that had little use in a battle. So she placed her sword back with her other belongings and shifted forms, the girl knew that if the people in this wretched town found out about her, she would be right back where she started. But Lithan already knew what she was and the stranger didn't seem all that threatening.

The wolf trotted over to the door and looked past the man. A fight had broken out a few yards away, the girl took no notice of the first two men but was intrigued by the third. She knew instantly that he was kelvic and wondered what he was doing here. He looked confident, was it possible that this kelvic had been looking for a fight? Why else would one come to Sunberth?

Natsuki crept closer to the action, wanting to see how the man would get out of this situation. She wanted him to transform, being curious to see what he really was but, unless this man was an idiot, he would stay human for as long as possible.

A Not So Warm Welcome

Postby Thundiirn on December 25th, 2012, 9:16 pm

Nothing ever goes right Thundiirn thought, somewhat bitterly. He didn't exactly mind, since at least such interruptions distracted from the otherwise tedium of life, but some days it just seemed too much.
He poked his head out to see what they were gawking at, to see a man in the middle of a brawl right outside the house. It had to be at least into the day's 22nd bell, he hadn't found the house till shortly after nightfall and they'd gotten a wink of sleep before this new guy broke in. What could these men possibly be doing? It was safe to say, nothing good. Thundiirn took pity on the poor man. He couldn't just kick the man out into the middle of a battlefield.
Given the circumstances, I suppose you can stay. However, I do have a price. You owe us a story. To tell us about yourself, where you came from, and how the heck you just ended up wandering into my house in the night. I must know who it is I stay with if I hope to be able to sleep, and it's not polite guest manners to keep ones host from sleeping.

Thundiirn plopped back down in the corner with his poker, and waited patiently to see whether the man would choose to brave the fight or tell him a story. The wolfling seemed quite intrigued by one of the brawlers, he noted, though he didn't seem to be a friend as she made no move to help him.

A Not So Warm Welcome

Postby Gabriel Velox Furox Mors on December 26th, 2012, 9:28 am

Gabriel stood there his feet square his body slightly relaxed, except for the fact the he was still out of breath. His face humored, looking at 4 perfectly capable fighter, he thought to himself "well this will be the most fun i've had since i got to this shit hole". Flipping his kukri to face back instead of a forward, the blunt side touching his forearms. His breath ragged two of the fighters lunging forward, crossing his arms as they come in range deflecting their blades and landing a solid kick into on for their ribs sending 1 flailing backwards. One blade free swings at the other attacker, but misses as they stumble backwards. Half smirking half snearing in a deep rich voice "You could at least let catch my breath, hah, well at least i know how weak u really are." Keeping his back to the wall so he gets no surprises "My turn". Finally catching his breath pushing one foot of the wall bull tackling the closest fighter. Connecting her feels a snap of one or more of the mans bones. As the man hits the ground Gabriel flips back to his feet sliding a few inches on the dirt.

One injured 3 more to go, he begins and on slot of blows on the other fighters hoping to leave no holes but he needed more skill. With two deflections and a kick to the side he lost the edge to the fighters. A slice down his right arm after being thrown off balance, he laughs "I deal with more pain than this training". Something comes over Gabriel not a rage but an almost blood lust like pleasure consumes him. Catching his balance, side stepping and placing a blade between one mans ribs letting go of the kukri now inside the man soon to be dead. Spinning around deflecting one blade but taking a dagger in the leg, grabbing the man who planted the dagger and headbutting him. Stumbling back into the wall, upon connection with the other mans head now seeing double, smiling the whole while. "Woo, now i'm gonna need a drink after that one". Going on some instinct ducking and lunging up connecting with a man that he guessed was blinded by rage and flipping him over onto his back and dropping and elbow into the center of the mans chest with all his weight hopefully knocking the wind out of the fighter. "Well now princess just u and me" hopeing he was looking at the last man standing through blurring and doubled vision. His back against the wall again carefully watching. "Or you can give that man back what you stole and leave everything behind?". Ducking as he saw the last man throw a dagger letting it stick into the wood as the last fighter followed up with a sword in Gab's shoulder. Quickly reacting by sheer will grabbing the sword with his free hand and pulling the man forward onto his kukri. Pulling the sword out he quickly rips a piece of cloth off and bandages his shoulder keeping the wall at his back tying the cloth tight to slow the bleeding til he can get to a healer. His vision returning he looks at the victim "Take your stuff and don't thank me, i enjoy a good fight". Looking to be sure there was no more threat, he the dying man over and retrieving his kukri and sheathing them. Walking over to his cloak he picks it up quickly donning it and grabbing his bag, trying to lift it his body grows weak and falls to his knees but still concious.

A Not So Warm Welcome

Postby Kel Ehmry on December 27th, 2012, 7:05 pm

The man with the poker had changed his mind, allowing Kel to stay, but of course there was always a catch. Kel was to tell a story, his story. Kel smirked, but kept his gaze focused on the fight happening down the street. As Kel watched, one of the men involved in the brawl would drop in defeat. Eventually it came down to one man against another. Kel watched as the two exchanged blows, wondering how they could keep going like that. Kel wouldn't be able to take that much of a beating without collapsing. Combat was something foreign to Kel, and for that reason, Kel remained fascinated by the brutal street fight occurring down the street. Soon enough, one of them collapsed, defeated. One man was left and Kel assumed he must have been the victor in this random street brawl. Sunberth is an interesting town... Kel thought to himself as he turned and sat down on the floor.

"So, my story it is then. Well let's see. I'm a graduate from the University of Zeltiva where I studied history and astronomy for four years. I decided there wasn't too much I could do pertaining to my studies in Zeltiva, so I packed up and here I am in Sunberth" Kel explained. "Don't really know why I chose to go to this town. I figured that I would be able to find some decent leads here. I guess you could call me a historian of some sort. I travel around, looking for lost histories or knowledge..." Kel smirked ...or even more importantly treasures he thought. Yes, to put it bluntly he was a fortune hunter. However he didn't like being obvious with that sort of thing. That was how you ended up with a knife sticking out of your spine. "Anyway, as to why I decided to venture into your home, well, it looked abandoned as I said before. I thought I would explore a bit and get off the streets for a bit. I have a bit of a knack for the old and abandoned."

"That's my story I suppose. Sorry for the lack of action or fight scenes" he laughed. 'Now what about you two? What are your stories?"

OOCI'll be out of town this weekend for the record. I apologize in advance for the delay.
