Winter 20th, 512AV Wind Reach Trading Post Ana had decided it would be best to lay off the magick for a bit, the thief slunk about in a not too obtrusive way towards the Wind Reach Trading Post. After having of realized she would not find all that she needed in just Furs, Fins, and Feathers or anywheres else in the Spires. No, what Ana had in mind was equipment, she figured a spare weapon for her off hand would do if she were ever disarmed, or a ranged one, for when enemies were unsuspecting to her gaze. Whatever the case, she had gone to the Fur shop first and picked up a wolf pelt which was then tailored to wrap around her shoulders, and not obstruct her body engulfing cloak in any way, shape, or form; providing a much warmer thief. Gloves, which were made from the same wolf pelt, the total price there had amounted to 17gm, from the 100gm Ximal had given her the day prior. Happy for the warmth, she blew out white mist out from underneath her black hood, feeling oddly giddy today. Some of the other things Ana had in mind was a scarf, and a jacket (there was only so much a big cloak could do against the cold! Considering the only thing underneath it was her long sleeved shirt.) Perhaps something to cover her arms and hands more securely as well, a pair of gauntlets, practical in both protection and hiding the grassy green which was somewhat faded on her skin. Most of these items she would buy, to remain undetected if she were to peruse their wares long enough. Arrival was around mid-day afternoon; the sky was cloudy, and the air chilly. The enormous building was amazing to look at, and observe. Hard to believe the Spires never used any of the normal ways to make buildings, Ana remembered planks of wood, nails, hammers, saws, the usual way to build things, compared to that of the Spires culture. Inside she stepped, even more impressive still was the height of the giant building, how the laborers bustled about to and fro, back and forth, like little pack rats trying to get through the day. What a boring life that must be, Ana thought to herself, pitying them for their lack of ambition, but admiring their dedication to do something everyday, for bells at a time; without any excitement, how mind numbing that must be for them. Up the few stands, Ana went, examining everything there was before heading to the next table, there were tons of items- anything anyone could ever want. Slowly she found herself in front of the weapon stand, there wasn't much of a selection to begin with. Spires had no use for steel, and other metals, so it was quite understandable when all Ana found were a few swords and bows, a couple of daggers, scabbards included; few maces, axes, ect, ect. Different arrows set aside, with woven, tanned leather quivers at the tables sides. Not..really..much of a choice.. Ana thought, a little dismayed as the Inartan came by with a big smile, rubbing his hands together with a polite and charming ring to his voice. "I see we have a fighter," he swept his hand gently above the table in a gesture to mean to the weapons "see anything you like?" Did Ana see anything she liked? Her eyes rested on a dagger, its apropriate sheathe resting next to it, it seemed to be a tad shorter than her own shortsword "may I pick them up?" Her voice was quiet, but the Inartan seemed to have no troubles hearing her, and said she could. With her fur gloved hand she reached to pick it up, held it up, and looked, it was lighter than her shortsword was but was mayhaps just a few inches shorter than it, and it looked like a dagger to her. In her opinion at least. There was another, just like it, except it had a different qaulity about its metal, and it was perhaps an inch shorter than the first dagger.. She set the dagger which she was holding back down and picked that one up, feeling the blade through her gloved hand, she felt a chill seemingly emanate from it through her gloves. "That would be a cold iron dagger" the Inartan stated, watching her carefully as she looked up to him. "Anything different about it compared to actual iron.. or steel?" Ana was no expert concerning metals, or the different weapons out there. The Inartan seemed kind enough and explained it made a better qaulity weapon, as well as being cold, no matter how long its left in the sun, or near a fire. However it costed three times as much as a normal dagger, the one she had picked up first. Weighing her choices, and compared it to how much coin she would have- that seemed like a swell deal to her. Purchasing the cold iron dagger, and its sheathe combined- she fixed the weapon to the other side, the opposite of her shortsword which was on her right side. |
