Solo [Job Thread] Cryktos is a windbag!

Winter, Day 89, 512

Cryktos, the recently freelanced dock worker now works for whoever pays the highest, and today, it was a large galley. He had made his thirty minute trek to his small raft, and could already see the massive ship pulling into the cove. With speed and precision outclassing even the best archers, he flew across the water, reaching the galleons in seconds. Moments later, he was on the ship, conversing with crew members on his way to the captain's quarters. They conversed, but it was somewhat fevered, as this captain had only enough to pay for the one trip into port, but not out. Cryktos decided to bring the ship in anyway, knowing that all paid him with what they had. It tool a little longer than usual, but it worked all the same. After a measly twenty minutes, he had already guided the ship into port, and was nor maneuvering it into a place at the docks themselves. It took him longer, because the ship was so large, but he still finished in time to bring another ship in. By the end of this work day, he had brought in 3 ships, and sent out only one. His walk home was silent, considering how his day had been so chaotic. The quite calmed him, it seemed, and he fell asleep almost as soon as he hit his mattress at his house.

Winter, Day 90, 512

It was the next-to-last day of the season, and Cryktos was in the mood of happiness. He had worked endlessly, tirelessly, and waited patiently for the final days of the season. All he had to do was move a few ships out of port, and his day would be over. He walked with a slight skip in his step, and it almost tripped him when he saw the large battleship. He knew it wasn't used for war anymore, as it had cargo stacked on the deck, and crew running to tie it down. He walked up the gangplank and was greeted by a jolly little man, who happened to be the captain. Cryktos was stunned to hear that the ship only had one sail, and instantly knew it would make today much, much more difficult than it should've been. This time, unlike the all the others, it took almost an hour to clear the ship from the dock, and almost just as long to lead it to the end of the cove. Cryktos said his goodbyes, and hopped down to his raft, which was towed along, and sped back to shore. The rest of the ships were small galleys and frigates. With speed and delicacy that he'd never had before, he cleared all the ships by noon, and was soon dismissed by the dockmaster to go home, for his work was done. All that waited now, was to receive his pay.
