Valo's words took a while to hit Darcy, who was starting to feel his back and legs slump downwards towards the floor, his head swaying lightly. "Please do not take offence, I am very drunk. I do not tend to use such words or phrases when I'm sober, let alone make misjudgements or question what is actually what. I'm lucky enough I still know what to say... just about. But no, I merely said that word because I couldn't quite work out whether you were male or female. I do apologise, Valo," he whispered softly towards the end, a small smile appearing, hiccuping slightly from the bubbling brew that was alight within his stomach. He raised his eyebrows whilst he studied Valo some more, intrigued by his powerful, bright green eyes. He let out a small laugh, "Best not to tell me whether you're male or female, actually..." and he quickly moved an arm around Valo, his face luminous and warm from being so close and endearing with no other than a newly met stranger.

"I have had quite a bit," Darcy murmured - quite keen to keep the conversation going, another small hiccup breaking his sentence, "I should probably lay off of all of this alcohol, I'm a big enough fool as it is without getting myself into such a ludicrous state." He felt his eyes drop to the floor, dazed and perplexed by his spinning, multi-coloured world. Valo's hair seemed to be like a giant flame, that was forever growing nearer to Darcy whilst they engaged in their fairly awkward conversation. He reached out for his drink again, almost approaching the bottom of the mug, the glass slipping through his fingers slightly as he pressed it against his mouth, slurping again, the hiccups haunting him as he finished, letting out an almighty gape of a gasp as he consumed the last few droplets, pushing the glass back upon the bar so it then tipped on its side and rolled along the dirty bar, falling off onto the floor with an ear-piercing shatter. "Whoops," omitted Darcy, shrugging his shoulders with a hint of a cheeky glare within his eyes.

"Please do not take offence, I am very drunk. I do not tend to use such words or phrases when I'm sober, let alone make misjudgements or question what is actually what. I'm lucky enough I still know what to say... just about. But no, I merely said that word because I couldn't quite work out whether you were male or female. I do apologise, Valo,"

At those words Valo burst out with merry laughter. The kind of laughter that, though difficult, was suppressed into the muffled sniggering against the sleeve of his coat. He must have been rather drunk by now, for rarely had Valo such problems with self composure and now all the inner most thoughts and feelings of his flowed freely from his. Amused he was, for it happened more often than he would like to admit. Surely he had grown into something resembling androgynous masculinity, with slender feature and skin that had perhaps never been kissed by sunlight. That childish roundness no longer lingered about his face to allow such confusion. Still, perhaps it was his hair, or his ever graceful manner, but such mistakes still took place.

"Best not to tell me whether you're male or female, actually..."spoke Darcy, also laughing just a little. Perhaps embarrassed by his action.

"I assure you I'm a man." he grinned, patting the other on the shoulder gently. The amusement flared in his eyes in entropy.

"I should probably lay off of all of this alcohol, I'm a big enough fool as it is without getting myself into such a ludicrous state." Another hiccup escaped the man as he drank. And upon placing the mug back towards the counter, it somehow tripped onto it's side and rolled groggily to the edge of the surface, lingering there just for a languishing moment before falling with impact to the floor. A shark crack. The shattering of glass, flaring little twinkling bits into the air as if it was a wave, simply plummeting and breaking against that which halted it. A dazzling display but also a terribly inconvenient one. they were going to get thrown out. Valo just knew it.

With a smile and an apologetic expression on his face, he hastily spoke tot he bar made. A thousand apologies on his lips. Coins handed, more than enough to re-compensate the smashed mug, the cleaning of glass shards and indeed their foul conduct. And without wasting much time, he simply pulled the drunken fool by the arm, out of the Kelp Bar and into the freezing cold of Zeltiva's midnight air. A sharp tug and a quiet hiss. "You owe me, Darcy." It seemed Valo indeed was a man who parted too easily with money.

Laughing loudly now, he waved his arms above him, somehow managing to do this gracefully as he swayed softly from side to side. Valo's laughter seemed to be skimming past his ears, only the more important parts of their conversation (which was clearly now only full of stupendous laughter) only just managing to register through Darcy's now incoherent brain.

Upon hearing Valo mention to Darcy that he was actually a man, he couldn't help but press a few fingers against his dampened lips, his eyes enlarging to that of saucers. "You're a... what? A man?" The realisation of how much Darcy had officially had to drink hit him hard. His stomach churned uneasily as he moved his eyes around the room, fuzzy pictures and blurs of heads being projected into his temporarily impaired vision. "Oh... dear me. Here was me thinking you were Nai'a at first and then a woman," he puffed, "Not that I do not talk to men, I love any kind of company but... oh my, far too much alcohol," he quipped, the noise of the shattering of glass still fresh within his mind. He watched patiently as Valo profusely apologised to the bar maid about his drunken mishap before being shunted outside of the bar. I wonder if I'll be barred from the bar? Not one for puns, Darcy begun to intimately chuckle to himself.

Feeling slightly guilty after being told by Valo that he now owed him for his accident, he flung his arms around him, panting in sheer despair from the trauma of his hapless action which had now cost him his warmth and the inability to purchase more kelp beer. "How do I owe you?" Darcy quickly reached into one of his pockets, the tinkling of change now vigorously audible, his mizas scraping against one another in a celebration of melodies. "I do apologise. I am incredibly clumsy... I deserve to be in a straight jacket, I really do. I'm not crazy... just... stupid." His last few sentences seemed to make Darcy laugh even more, totally unaffected now by how he was coming across. His dark eyes flickered as nearby lamps illuminated the atmosphere around them. "Corrrrrrr! It ain't half cold, cor blimey... corrrrrrrrrr!" He frantically shook his arms, now regretting the fact that he had broken his beer mug, only grateful for the fact that his new found friend happening to sweet talk him out of what could have been a very messy incident.

Seeing his companion is such a terrible state, the constant silly laughter, the muttering of otter nonsense. The way he flung his arms about the artist as if they were lovers. The twisted face which arguably was a handsome one, the redness upon his cheeks. The eyes dissociated from reality, lingering in the perpetuation of the drunken state. Indeed it made Valo feel almost sober by comparison, though that was far from the truth. His head was heavy, scarlet pinched cheeks and the stupid smile upon him. A crumbling of his self composure. Still he wasn't completely parted with his wits just yet thus, a man still holding onto those very threads, if only just, had to think logically in this scenario.

"So Darcy, care to tell me where you live? I fear leaving you on the streets like this for you look like you may walk into the ocean thinking you're a fish." he chuckled merrily, abandoning any attempt to combat the man's affectionate drunkenness.

Suffice to say, if the artist was a little more sober, the foolish Darcy would annoy him thusly. But that was no longer the case. There was no pity within him either, but simple amusement. The relinquishing of otherwise appropriate emotion. He simply found the man funny. Hilarious. And with that came fondness, amplified and uplifted somewhat by the intoxication, for it seemed that whenever in this state, Valo seemed to fall in love with everything in his path. Everything that could possibly be loved and he did love the man before him too. He loved how funny he was with the flailing of arms and the nonsense that rolled off his tongue. No doubt they would become friends one way or another and look back at this meeting light-heartedly. Or at least that was what he thought.
