Ready Or Not [Silarial]

It was a day like any other. Sera woke up and had an argument with her sister. Her father intervened and told the girls to separate. Nica decided to go to the lake to skate, while Sera was stuck at home with nothing to do. Of course she felt like she was the one in trouble. Nica was always allowed to go out by herself, where Sera had to get permission. Nica always got out of doing chores, while Sera was always forced to. Nica was always doing better at school, while Sera wasn't focused enough. Nica. Nica. Nica. Sera was sick of always being the second best. She was sick of being the youngest. She was sick of not having much freedom. And she was sick of her parents never listening to her side of things.

So, when her parents both went out to do their own separate jobs, and when Nica had been gone for a several minutes, Sera decided it was time to act more like a “Grown-up”. She was going to do whatever she felt like.

Really all she wanted was to dance. And she was going to go dance. She was going to go dance in the middle of town. That was her goal. See, Sera always wanted to be a dancer, even when she was a kid. She wanted nothing more. And even though many told her it was a silly choice for a career. She wanted it. And for once, she was going to go against the rules her parents had given her and she was going to go chase her dream.

But there was something else to that dream. There was this girl who Sera had seen around. This girl was one of Sera’s favorite people in town, but she had never had the courage to talk to her. This girl’s name was Silarial. Sera believed that Silarial was the prettiest girl in town. She looked like a doll and could dance unlike anyone she had ever seen. This girl was so graceful and so pretty. Though she’d never openly admit it to anyone, Sera wanted to be JUST like Silarial.

And so, the young Vantha girl left her home in the Skyglow hold, to go out on a search for her role model.

And so, the day went on…

Running awkwardly down the street as close to the shop windows as she could get, Sera turned the corner and stopped, looking down another walkway. She thought for sure that Silarial had gone this way. Hadn’t she? The young girl tilted her head to the side, letting her unevenly cut hair fall over her right shoulder. To herself, Sera thought, “Why didn’t I put this up?” She sighed and leaned against the side of the building, running her fingers through her hair. “Why is it that I can never get close enough? Or even build up the courage to talk to her? I wish she knew who I was.”

Sera kicked some snow into a pile with her foot and then walked back into the middle of the street. She began to look around at the people. So many familiar faces filled her view. People she had known since she was a child, some she knew personally, other’s she only knew by face. Of course there were people she didn’t know at all either. The sun appeared from being hidden beneath some afternoon clouds, shining light on everything. A fresh sheet of snow had fallen, and it made the ground sparkle beautifully. The Vantha girl looked at the footprints in the snow. So many pretty designs decorated the street.

She drew a line with her foot, then another, as if she had planned to draw something in the snow.

That’s when it hit her.

With a smile, Sera stood on her tiptoes, and then spun around once, using one foot to make an imprint in the freshly fallen snow, while she balanced on another. She tried to spin again, but the fresh snow made her slip. Reaching out, she tried to catch herself, but there was no use.

“Ah!” She cried as she landed on her butt. Embarrassed, Sera slammed her hands on the ground. "This isn't fair! Why can't I be good at something?!"

Ready Or Not [Silarial]

She must look so very ridiculous right now.

"This is... one heavy... oof... ladder." Silarial heaved on a wooden ladder twice her size with all the strenght of a fifteen year old lass. She trudged through the snow, one foot covered with shoes and one foot without, limping quite visibly on her unprotected leg due to the harsh bite of the cold.

It was not uncommon for the young lady to get in all sorts of weird 'circumstances', and most of these are actually a result of her uncontainable tendency to snoop. Today, however, is not an outcome of misplaced prying, but of an oversight on her part.

As a result of some miscalculations, her shoes had gone from the warmth of her foot and all the way to the roof of the library. The event that led her to lose her precious footwear was quite simple, really. There was this boy, an Iceglaze, who kept bugging her about whom she wanted to marry. Every time she told a name of someone her mother had suggested, he would go and start reciting all that person's bad qualities. The list of demerits would go on and on as he continued to bluster. She loved knowing tidbits about people, but the boy's endless detraction was starting to grate on her nerves.

Of course she had already decided that she was not going to be wed to someone she didn't like, and so she finally told him she'd never marry someone who had a rotten personality like him. That seemed to have struck a nerve, and next thing Silarial knew he was yelling at how creepy she was and how no one would ever make the mistake of marrying her.

Normally, she would dismiss this sort of insult and go about her own way, but she had been very, very patient with him and he didn't stop. Her patience has run dry. As if acting on their own, her hand drew back and gave him an indignant punch straight to his nose. She blew up about how he was always such an inconsiderate oaf, and that he shouldn't go anywhere near her anymore. The boy, having recovered from the hit and now sporting a bleeding nose, grabbed at her. She was quick to step back, though she tripped with her own feet and fell on her rear. However, the wooden pendant she wore, newly-bought from the market, got caught in his hands. He yanked it off and, to Silarial's horror, threw it towards the roof of the library before dashing away.

Tears of frustration welling in her eyes, Silarial walked closer to the side of the building to see what became of her little trinket. Upon closer view, she saw it dangling from the edge of the roof, ready to fall anytime. And so she aimed for the piece of jewelry with her shoes. throwing it with such a force that, instead of hitting the wooden pendant, it ended up on top of the roof instead.

The next thing that ensued was the search for a tall enough ladder, and her mother's friend's tool shop just a street away eventually came to mind. She had pleaded to him to let her carry it back to the wretched rooftop, both to retrieve her shoes and her pendant. It took quite a good long while of talking it out, but in the end, he had agreed to lend it to her on the condition that she return it all in one piece by dusk, to which she acquiesced.

Now nearing Stories in the Snow once more, she heard someone's cry of frustration. A young girl, she reckoned. And sure enough, there was a young lady, probably not much younger than she was, sprawled on the street. Lugging the ladder beside her, she crouched down in front of the girl and smiled. "Hello, young miss. Why are you sitting here in the middle of the street? Your clothes will get wet and dirty."

Ready Or Not [Silarial]

Postby Sera on March 14th, 2013, 11:42 pm

Sera could not believe her eyes when she looked up. Being so lost in her own childish thoughts, she hadn’t heard Silarial approach. Now, seeing her in front of her made it hard to breathe. Sera knew she looked like a child. She was sitting in the middle of a street practically throwing a temper tantrum. ‘Oh no! she’ll think I’m a baby!’ She worried, and tried to straighten her body up, a failing attempt to look taller while sitting. The young teenager opened her mouth to speak, to answer the older girl’s question but couldn’t find her words. Too many thoughts were clouding her ability to speak.

She blinked her eyes, thinking, ‘Oh my Goddess! It’s her! She’s here! She’s looking at me! She talked to me! She’s so pretty! And she’s smiling! I must look like a kid! I don’t want to look like a kid. What do I do? What can I do?! What do I say? Is she really here? Oh she’s smiling. She’s so nice! She’s so pretty!! She’s smiling. I have to say something. I should say something kind. Don’t ask questions, Sera. Act like an adult. Act like an adult. Be smart.’

Finally, Sera shook herself out of her thoughts. “Uh… uh… Hi Silarial! I was dancing, but I’m not very good and I slipped and…” Her words trailed off as her eyes looked the girl up and down. First thing she noticed was the ladder. “Why are you dragging a ladder around? Did you need to climb up somewhere?” The next thing she noticed was the missing shoe from one of Silarial’s feet. “And what happened to your shoe? Did you lose it?” She wrinkled her nose. “Wait!” She came to a conclusion, “Did a bird take your shoe and now you have to climb to go retrieve it?” It seemed like a reasonable explanation.

She got to her feet and brushed the snow off. The girl was always full of a million questions. Sometimes they made sense; sometimes they were completely uncalled for. Other times, they were just out of excitement. After all, the girl she looked up to was talking to her. She was paying attention to her. This was something the young, thirteen year old girl had always wanted, for as long as she could remember.

“Wherever you’re going, whatever you’re doing, can I come with you?” Sera asked, a bit shyly, but smiling nonetheless.

The young, one-shoed dancer tilted her head slightly and found herself blinking with the younger Vantha. Silarial wondered if she said something wrong, for the girl just stared at her mouth agape and unspeaking. 'It must be the ladder. It's weird enough I'm dragging it around, yet here I am prancing about with only one shoe on.' she thought, taking a gingerly peek at her shoeless foot. 'Wah it feels so cold and uncomfortable! I really need to get that shoe soon. If only I took the money mom was giving me earlier, I could've bought a new one by now.'

She returned her eyes to the young girl and was about to excuse herself when the girl, stammering a bit, finally spoke up. Silarial was quite surprised the girl knew who she was. The Snowsong scoured her mind for a name to match the girl's face in vain. But now that she thought about it, she had seen her more than a few times during her performances on the streets.

The girl continued with a handful of questions, inquiring why she dragged a ladder around and what the fate of her missing shoe was. Silarial wrinkled her nose, mirroring the girl, as she tried to come up with a simpler explanation to the events that transpired earlier. So when the girl shared her innocent theory behind the missing shoe, Silarial found herself giggling.

"Yes, it was a very naughty bird. It took one of my precious things too. So now I have to go and retrieve both of it." She suddenly found herself wishing that she had a younger sister. If only all children were as adorable as this young lady...

Silarial stood up after the girl, flexing her toes and feet as she did. It really felt uncomfortable. She picked up the ladder once more and turned to the young girl, a small smile on her lips. The girl was smiling too. Not wasting a moment, the girl asked if she could come with her.

The dancer's smile turned into a wide grin and, her voice ecstatic, answered, "Of course! I mean, I'm not going somewhere too far. Just that roof over there." she stared at the top of the library and sighed inwardly. 'My things...'

"Ah. But I don't know your name yet," she uttered matter-of-factly, flicking her eyes back to her new companion. "I'm Silarial, by the way! But, uh, you know that already." she added, laughing at herself for being silly.

People were already eyeing her and the ladder blocking half of the street, that she had observed. "Well, I can use some help with carrying this heavy thing. If you would please, can you lift the other end? Thank you!" She hauled the ladder towards the side wall of Snows and Stories, needing less effort this time, with the help of the considerate young lady.

The two anchored the base of the long ladder against the wall and pushed it upright. With the harder of the chores down, Silarial pulled the base away from the structure this time until the ladder looked to be in a safe angle. She pushed at it tentatively and, finding that it seemed to be rather stable, smiled in satisfaction.

"I'll go and climb to the roof now and see if my shoe's still there. Hold the ladder while I go up and, uhh..." she trailed off, a finger running over her lips while lost in thought. "Ah, yes! Don't go and climb after me, okay? Stay put! It's dangerous to scale this thing with no one to support the ladder down here, and I don't want anything bad to happen to you..." Silarial hastened to add, waiting for the younger girl to say yes. After hearing the girl's answer, she beamed and poked the girl's nose playfully.

"I won't be long now." she nodded slightly, and finally turned to climb the long, wooden ladder.

OOC :
Ughh... I'm sorry I don't know what I'm doing anymore. My mind's such a mess right now. I'll try and do better next time! :(

Ready Or Not [Silarial]

Postby Sera on March 22nd, 2013, 6:44 am

‘Oh my goddess! Does she think I’m cute? Does she like me? She giggled! She has such a pretty smile! Oh! She laughed at my joke! She might like me! I hope she likes me! PLEEEEASE like me!! I wish she was my sister! I wish we were sisters! What if we were twins! I’d be as pretty as her! Maybe she’ll dance for me! Oh she smiled again!!!’ Sera couldn’t stop herself from admiring Silarial. The girl was so beautiful. She was cute and funny and Sera wished that she could be just like her.

When Silarial agreed for Sera to join her, she was ecstatic! It took her a bit for the older girl’s words to sink in. “Wait… What? I was right! The roof?” Sera looked. She tilted her head to the side. “What exactly is on the roof? Your shoe? Really” She chuckled, finding that to be really funny.

When her name was asked, Sera turned on her toes. “I’m Sera, your biggest fan!” She admitted, leaning to the side slightly as she did, her hands behind her back.

Without any hesitation or argument, the younger girl ran to the other side of the ladder and picked it up. Luckily, it didn’t seem too heavy. Once the ladder was set up, Sera agreed not to follow. She didn’t want to disappoint or upset one of her favorite people, afterall.

“Be careful!” She called, as Silarial ascended the ladder. Sera couldn’t help pay attention to the shoeless foot as the girl continued up. ‘That HAS to be difficult! And cold. Definitely cold’ She thought to herself. Once the girl had vanished from view, Sera continued holding onto the ladder for a bit.

The bit turned into longer of a bit. Actually, it felt like she was taking forever.

Sera waited.

And waited.

And waited.

It could have just been Sera’s perception. But… it seemed to be taking Silarial too long to return, or even look down at her.

“Silarial?” She called upwards.

No answer.

“Are you okay?”

Still, no answer.

‘Huh, that’s strange. I hope she’s okay…’ Being both bored, and worried, there was nothing better to do, except follow the girl. So, Sera held onto the wooden frame tightly and began to crawl up the ladder. She moved carefully, one foot at a time.

‘Oh my goddess! Morwen! I’m growing up!!!’ She thought to herself with a giant grin plastered on her lips. This was her first time ever climbing a ladder and she was so proud of herself. Everyone always told her she was too little. Or too small. Or too tiny. Didn’t matter that all of those were essentially the same thing. Usually heights made her nervous, but ascending the ladder only made her feel older, stronger, better looking. Once at the top, she grabbed ahold to the edge and pulled herself up. “Silarial!” She called in her sing song voice, “Look! I climbed the ladder all by…” Something was wrong. The girl let out a scream as her foot got caught. In a panic, she tried to jerk her leg upwards. Her whole body slipped. She started kicking, in an attempt to free her feet, her hands holding onto the edge of the roof as tightly as possible. “I’m gonna fall!!” She cried, as she felt the ladder slip as well, taking her leg with it.

Everything slowed down. Using one foot as an anchor, she slipped her other over the top. The girl had no idea if it would work. Somehow it did. Sera was able to free her foot out of the way, but in the process, she kicked the ladder back. “Oh no!” She cried as she looked back, watching the ladder fall.

THUD!

It hit the ground, sending snow particles into the air. Sera widened her eyes. ‘Oh Morwen! What have I done?!’ Her weight was too much. There was a sharp pain in her hands. “Oh no! No no no!!” She nearly screamed, tears pouring from her eyes. “Don’t let me fall, Silarial! Please… don’t let me fall!!” Her hands slipped again. “Please…”

One hand let go. "No!"

Ready Or Not [Silarial]

The Snowsong smiled to herself, not quite sure how to react when the girl, who introduced herself as Sera, stated that she was her fan. Her biggest fan, at that. It must be a result of a young girl’s naiveté (she herself had several people she looked up to and still admires to this day), but knowing that somebody admired her for doing what she loved made her feel delighted nonetheless.

Facing the wooden ladder, Silarial finally placed her foot on the lowest step and pushed herself up. It was rather hard, for her feet felt very cold and numb from being exposed to the elements for quite a time. Another step upwards followed by another, she continued doing this climbing until she could finally see the top of the small building. She noted, with a tiny bit of disappointment, that the roof was flat and packed with snow. With a final heave, she raised herself onto the building and crawled away from the edge until it was safe to assume she would not fall to the ground anymore in a slip of her feet.

Turning her head around to survey the area, she frowned at how thick the snow was piled on top of the building. It would be hard to search for her shoe right now, so she decided that for the mean time, she should go and search for her pendant instead. Remembering where she last saw it peeking, she went back to the roof’s edge and combed for her trinket. It was still there alright, caught on the ridge jutting out from the building.

Carefully, she reached for the pendant with her long and slender fingers. After a few heartbeats, it was within her grasp once more; safe, sound, and undamaged. Silarial grinned triumphantly, not before securing the pendant around her neck. Now, there was only the matter of her shoe to take care of, and she can finally go somewhere warmer with Sera, and maybe dry herself.

‘Should I invite her home? Maybe I can introduce her to my mom! We should definitely adopt her, like mom did to me.’ Silarial mused as she hummed to herself, searching the freshly fallen snow for her missing footwear. Soon enough, several paces away from where she found her pendant, the young Snowsong noticed something dark sticking out from under a feet of slush. She hurriedly dropped down to her knees and dug the object out. A wide smile spread across her face as she hugged it to her chest. It was her shoe, a bit drenched, but still her shoe!

Ahh, thank you Morwen! Thank you!” she called out towards the general direction of the winter goddess’ Ice Palace with a slight incline of her head. Without wasting another moment dawdling, she patted her already-pale foot dry with her skirt and immediately placed her shoe on. Silarial sighed contentedly, and she can already imagine her foot feeling better now that it was covered.

“Silarial!” The dancer’s bubble of thought was instantly burst at the familiar voice. “Look, I climbed the ladder all by…” Silarial slowly turned her head to the direction of the voice, yet unable to process why she heard it where she should not. And from where she climbed up, she found Sera’s head peeking happily. The young girl was currently in the middle of pushing herself onto the roof.

Things started going downhill from that point.

Sera! What are y--” There was a scream, followed by the young girl’s cries for help.

The world suddenly passed by in slow motion. Without thinking anymore, Silarial ran towards the barely hanging on Sera. She hurriedly grabbed Sera’s arms with both of her hands and pulled the girl up with all the energy she could muster, pushing her feet against the roof’s ridge for support. It was not enough. She still could not pull the younger, smaller Vantha all the way to safety.

Sera! Listen to me! You’re not going to fall! I’ve got you!” Silarial’s heart was beating wildly in her chest. Even though she tried to assure the younger Vantha that everything will be alright, she was truly scared. Silarial did not want to know what will happen if either of them let go. “Push yourself against the wall with your feet! You can do this, please, you can do this!!” Silarial pulled with everything she got. She would never allow someone get hurt under her care, never.

After what seemed like forever for the older Vantha, Sera was finally able to climb onto the roof. Silarial was panting so hard, and she didn’t realize that tears were already streaming down her face from all the fear and adrenaline rushing through her moments ago. She laid down on her back on the snow, her energy escaping her.

When she finally got her wits about her, Silarial found herself springing up and hugging Sera tightly. She did her best to stop herself from crying still. Even so, tremors rocked all throughout her slender body. ‘I almost lost her! I should have been more attentive. This would not have happened if I was.’ She shook her head as she pulled the hair from Sera’s tear-stained face. “How are you feeling? Are you hurt anywhere? Oh god... I was so worried about you!

Ready Or Not [Silarial]

Postby Sera on March 30th, 2013, 7:35 pm

OOCSorry I keep changing the colors, I keep forgetting what I'm doing by that. One day I'll get around to making one of those pretty border things or something of the like.

Before she knew it, the older girl had her other arm, the one that lost grip of the roof. Silarial tried to convince Sera everything would be okay. It worked enough for her to concentrate on using her feet against the side of the building. Only with Silarial's help, Sera was able to climb onto the roof.

While Silarial laid back in the snow that had accumulated on the roof, Sera just sat there, trying to breathe. I'm so dumb! Her eyes were wide, unmoving as she stared at the older girl. “Silarial...” She began, but suddenly the older vantha girl jumped towards her and held ontot her. Sera broke down, letting all her fears out!

With her arms wrapped around the older girl, Sera trembled. Her cheeks were tear stained and beginning to drench Silarial's shoulder. “I... I... I was so... so scared!” She cried, stumbling over her words as she shivered, her body recovering from the adrenaline rush. “I could... have died!” She pulled away from Silarial momentarily and looked her in the eyes, still holding onto her hands.

“You saved me. You helped me.” Sera licked her lips, tasting the remains of the salty tears. In her mind, she tried to process what had happened, but for some reason she could only remember bits and pieces. It had all happened to fast. Way too fast. But she did no one thing... if she had listened, they wouldn't be in this predicament. “This is all my fault!” She blurt out. “Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have climbed up here! I should have waited.”

But, she did notice a problem. They were on the roof of the library without a way down. Sera leaned over the edge and looked down. The ladder had embedded itself in the snow and it didn't look like any of the passerbys had taken any notice. In fact, there didn't seem to be many people around anyways.

On top of that, Sera knew that she was going to get in so much trouble when her parents found out. They had to find a way down!

She looked back at Silarial in a near panic. “What do we do? We can't get caught! How do we get down? Will we be stuck up here forever?!” Apparently the events of before had completely left Sera's mind. Her worries had turned to the repercussions of her choices as well as Silarial's. What would happen to them? But then she noticed, the older girl had found her other shoe. Wasn't that the reason of going on the roof to begin with?

The girl got to her feet and walked the stretch of the roof back and forth, carefully, not wanting to slip on the half melted snow and ice. There had to be something to do. There just had to. But during that time, she didn't see anyone. Eventually, she sat back down, letting her feet dangle off the edge right near the place they had climbed up from. "We are never getting down."

Ready Or Not [Silarial]

Sera cried out about how scared she was, and Silarial did not mind even though her shoulders were getting quite damp from the younger girl's tears. Silarial patted Sera's head, feeling utterly pathetic for being unable to offer more comfort for the young Vantha. So when Sera exclaimed that she could have died, Silarial had almost screamed that it would not be so, that she would have survived even when she fell. The snow was thick, and what harm could a few feet's plunge could do to an energetic Vantha lass? ‘A few broken bones here and there, some dislocated joints, and, if worse comes to worst, a badly broken neck.’

Silarial internally screamed at her thoughts, or at least at herself, to shut up. It's not helping at all, thinking about morbid things. Shaking her head diffidently, she concurred, “Yes, you're safe now and that is what's important, right?” she let the words out, more for the sake of her mental health than actually comforting the young girl.

When Sera continued to blame herself for their predicament, Silarial hushed her gently. She can verily symphatize with her for feeling bad about messing things up; she herself messed things up a lot, and she would be a hypocrite for telling Sera off because of this. However, she realized though that the two of them are stuck in a very tight spot. With the ladder down deep under the snow, the two had no other means of going down. In short, they're stuck until someone helps them down, which would mean they will be found out and Sera would be chastised for the trouble she had caused. Areeyah's definitely going to be mad at her for being such an irresponsible young lady!

She bit down on her fingernails as Sera voiced out her fears. Hearing them out loud, she could already feel the panic rising inside of her. With great effort, a series of deep breaths, and a a chime of fervent nail biting, she was able to calm herself to a more reasonable state of mind. Sera, who had just tired of pacing about the roof, sat at the spot where the ladder once was and glumly muttered about their sad fate.

We are going down.” she disagreed in forced resolve, trying to hide underlying trepidations with a brave smile. The Snowsong stood up on her feet, one warm and comfortable, and the other tingling and uncomfortable. She ran her eyes all over the area once more, searching for possible ways of descending that Sera could have missed in her search earlier.

There was a tree or two nearby, but they were not close enough to jump, and she doubted Sera and her could even climb down a tree from this height. The walls of the library are unscalable, obviously. They should not make a lot of ruckus either, or the two of them will definitely be chided for climbing a roof. What do we do...

When she was about to give up and admit defeat, an idea crossed her mind. She sat on the ledge on the front side of the library and ushered Sera to sit beside her. “What if we sing out loud until someone notices us? You know, just pretend we're rooftop performers. At least they wouldn't think that something was wrong, since we won't be screaming for help,” Hopefully. “...and we can ask them to and pick up the ladder for us and help us down.” she finished by giving the girl a questioning glance. Hers was not a genius-level plan, but it's better than nothing, right?

Ready Or Not [Silarial]

Postby Sera on April 17th, 2013, 3:10 pm

When Silarial moved to the front of the building, Ser followed carefully, watching every step to prevent herself from slipping on the snow and ice. She gave the older girl a curious look when she sat down, but followed suit as well, not questioning it. Apparently Silarial had a plan! Sera sat close to Silarial, one leg crossed while the other dangled off the edge of the building and listened as the older one voiced her idea.

“Sing?” Sera asked, a smile forming on her lips. Her eyes widened with delight and their color intensified. “Oh! Oh! Oh!” Excitement filled her lungs. “Could we dance too?!” It was like a dream! Sera felt her body sway back and forth with desire to spend more time with Silarial. She leaned over and wrapped her arms around the older girl's shoulders embracing her in a hug. “Yes! Let's do it!”

She let go of Silarial and leaned back, biting her lip while she thought to herself, 'She's so smart! She's so creative! She's so brilliant! She always knows what to do! She can solve any problem. She looks great while doing it! I want to be her sister! I want to be her friend! I want to be just like her!' Sera glanced at Silarial again. 'I hope she likes me. I really hope she likes me!'

There was a small little detail about Silarial's plan that could cause problems. Sure, Silarial could get away with posing as a street performer on the roof, but Sera wouldn't pull it off so easily. She had very little musical skill. Not to mention, she was from the Skyglow hold. Her parents usually got annoyed by Sera's love for just about everything and her need to explore really bothered them. If she was caught on the roof singing, she would never hear the end of it. Sere shrugged her shoulders. 'Why couldn't I just be Silarial's sister?' The truth was, she didn't want to be a Skyglow. She didn't like it. She wanted to do everything. She wanted to experience everything!

And then it hit her. What if she changed holds? But didn't that mean that she would have to get married? Either way, it was going to happen. Maybe she'd find a cute Snowsong...

Sera wrinkled her nose at that idea. She glanced to the street again, watching as some people passed by. To the side, there was a small group heading in their direction, towards the library. The younger girl frowned. This was it. They were going to notice the two the closer they got. So, they had to do something.

She took a deep breath and lifted her leg. She positioned both her feet under her, and then pushed back, jumping away from the edge of the building. “Silarial... I'm nervous!” She exclaimed, looking to the older girl for comfort. “What do we do?” Sera had made a commotion, and there seemed to be a small crowd of about five people standing in front of the library looking up at the girls with obvious questions in their eyes. It was time to do something. If anything.

Considering that Sera wasn't too comfortable with singing, especially by herself, she decided to start stepping back and forth from side to side, simply keeping herself moving. If they were going to pull off the roof performer thing, she would have to try something. But the younger girl needed Silarial as well. Being brave, and following the idea that the older girl had sparked, Sera decided to introduce themselves to the people below.

“Hello everybody! I'm glad you could make it today! I'm Sera, and this is Silarial!” She gestured towards the older girl. “We're your very own roof performers, and today, we'll be singing to you about...” She eyes the older girl, hoping that she'd finish the statement to the people.

…rooftop adventures!” Silarial hastened to add after the younger Vantha’s small pause. She had stood up as soon as the people below took notice of them two. Nudging Sera lightly with her elbows, she whispered, “We’ll have to make up the song as we go,” she stopped and watched the girl’s face closely for signs of confirmation. Sera must be nervous at that moment, she herself was. Breaking into a wide grin, she continued, “…just have fun. We’re just having a fun singing game!

Clearing her throat self-consciously, she looked past them and onto the white snow sitting on the ground under their feet. She wanted to bury her face under several feet of snow. What did she even mean by rooftop adventures? ‘Ahhh, I hope Sera and I come up with something…’

Silarial opened her mouth and let the first words that came into mind come flowing out as her voice formed in her throat.

There’s this one girl from Snowsong Hold
She loves to eat a lot of flavored snow,

If Sera was familiar with famous children’s song, she would immediately recognize the tune to which Silarial was tailoring her lyrics. Silarial’s singing voice was shaky but she continued her caroling as if her life depended on it. Well, putting things into perspective, their life did depend on it.

She is someone’s only child
Who loves to dance very much
Silly as people often call her
Troublemaker is what they… name her!
But all she wants is to have some fun
Like all Vantha does, everyone.

Most of her words do not match the tune properly. As she sang, she swayed and snapped her fingers in time with the beat. She glanced at her younger companion and winked.

She met this cute girl in the streets
Now please listen to her as she sing!

Silarial nodded at Sera to pick up on where she left and held her hand encouragingly, swaying it to the jaunty tune. The younger Vantha would have to think up of the words on the spot, but if Silarial notices that she’s having a hard time doing so, the Snowsong would be more than ready to chime in to her song.
