When Sybel had stood up and stripped her shirt Ricky grinned big as they both lost the lower half of their clothes together, she was the first to jump in as he took a few ticks longer than her. Finally when his pants hit the deck he could feel the breeze hit him from all around, the cool air massaging his skin as the adrenaline of risking anybody seeing him still existed. It was a thrilling way to live at the end of the day, to take a plunge into the unknown with a stranger you had just met. Though he wasn't able to exactly "admire" her anatomy he still considered her beautiful to see, and as he took in his deep breath he dove into the chilly depths of the water. Its surface breaking way and bending to his body as it enveloped all around him, swallowing him into the depths with ease as he now changed his course. Either he had dove deeper than he anticipated or she went to the surface after he plunged, for when he opened his eyes he could barely see her at all. Much less of anything else actually as there wasn't any light to shine down to the the depths, it didn't matter to him though because he enjoyed it. He welcomed the chilly embrace of the ocean that surrounded him.

In his mind he felt a strange serenity that the ocean brought, one of a mysterious comfort as the incoming tides would gently push past him. It was a pleasing sensation he felt, as he was now within his element. He was unable to hold his breath though as he now had reached his maximum time limit, kicking up to the surface to find the supply of air his body demanded. His head would pop out of the water nearby Sybel, releasing the oxygen he held hostage for such a small amount of time. It was relieving to have the intake of air to follow after his breath escaped, as the chilly water didn't seem to affect Ricky as bad as Sybel. It was relaxing actually when he thought about it, his body tempature was more in tune to this type of stuff really. "Great! How's it for ye?" He stated as he nearly missed the question she had asked, he looked to Odis now with a happy smile. The dog was still upon the docks with both a wagging tail and tongue, Ricky waved for the dog to jump into the water and join. "Odis boy, c'mon!" He cheered the pup to follow, Odis looked like he was about to jump but hesitated for a moment.

"C'mon Odis, jump!" He encouraged once more, Odis looked to his master excitedly. "Ruff!" Was all Odis said before he too took a plunge into the water below, swimming close to his master and new favorite stranger after he resurfaced. Ricky would laugh and croon to the dog, placing his hand under Odis' chest and kissing him on the side of his head. He looked to Sybel with a wide grin, pleased to see that he was the only one feeling adventourous tonight.

Ricky surfaced with a splash nearby. “There you are,” she remarked playfully. Though it was still cool, she’d already adjusted somewhat to the water temperature. It never took long to enjoy yourself once you’d committed. The hard part was just jumping in. Her legs worked like fins, keeping her well afloat. "Great!” He said, turning to his dog. “How's it for ye?" Bobbing up and down on the tide, she slicked the hair back out of her eyes. “Wonderful,” she answered, wearing a cheek splitting grin. In the back of her mind she hoped no one grabbed her clothes. That was always the opposite edge of the sword when it came to swimming in the nude. A mischievous passerby might opt to leave them stranded, and two naked people running through the streets of Zeltiva were sure to cause a scene. Talk about a wild time.

"Odis boy, c'mon!" He called to his pup, gesturing. The dog wheeled back like he was about to plunge in, but froze for some reason. "C'mon Odis, jump!" He urged, smiling. Odis gave a whooping bark in response and dove off the pier, into the icy water below. Upon impact, he emitted a great splash that went right into the Benshira’s eyes. Laughing, she mopped her face. “What a good boy,” she said to the happily swimming creature. Ricky gave his companion and kiss on the head, and then glanced back to her with a cheek-splitting grin.

“What a beautiful night…” She sighed before, diving back into the icy depths. A great spray of bubbles followed her down into the veritable blackness of the sea. The person who had taught her to swim also taught her a very effective technique – exhale vigorously through your nose as you went under, lest you wish to clean out your sinuses. She did so upon shooting into the belly of the water, arching her back under the current. Her fingers cupped and grasped, serving to propel her further and faster and she moved along. There wasn’t much to see beneath the surface from the lack of light, so Sybel didn’t linger. After a few more moments she emerged with a gasp, yards away from where she had been.

“I’ll race you!” She called, gesturing to another pier about twenty yards out. Already having a head start, she clearly held the advantage. With a merry laugh, she went under again. By then, the water was an even-temperature compared to her body. As she kicked and pulled, her muscles labored sweetly. Exercise was her guilty pleasure. That was very fortunate given her type of work. After a minute or so she had to come up for air, pausing to see if her fellow racer had followed suit. He must be under the surface, she observed. Not wasting any time, she went under for more.

By the time she split the waves next their destination, she came to the dismal realization he must have beaten her.

Ricky had taken her challenge with a playful grin, trying to get a good start as clearly she had been at the advantage. "Sick her boy!" He cheered to the dog as he bopped down under to kick his way after her, his quick breath he took in being one that would be only long enough to get him decent start. He paddled in a pattern that allowed the water to flow between his limbs, slightly propelling him further as he quickly proceeded to the surface. When he resurfaced he only did so to exhale and resupply the air to his empty lungs, proceeding back down under as he propelled once more to push him forward. The salty water would rush past him with ease as he stroke out into the pitch black of the water, the cool feel of the sea enveloping his limbs with his movements. Yes he felt like he was part of the sea, and he felt like it, he enjoyed being in the sea and felt one with it.

Odis wasn't too far behind of course as he too was propelling himself, using the only method he had to push him of course. Ricky could see the dog was already swimming ahead of him, he was no doubt catching up with Sybel faster than Ricky. When he reached all the way to the other side of the pier he surfaced to look for Sybel, looking to find that she had made it there before he did. Although she may have had a head start he still was slightly at a better advantage, being bigger than her of course; yet Odis seem to be the faster out of the two. His ability to swim was far greater than Ricky's, which he couldn't quite seem to understand. Being a dog trained before abandoned it was possible he was also taught how to swim, it was a possibility to consider seeing as how the dog was smart enough to act how he did. Yet he was a dog all the same so it could be more of a natural thing to him, or maybe a little bit of both.

With his breathing finally catching up and calming down Ricky laughed out of pure fun, enjoying himself as he swam closer to Sybel and Odis.

Her initial disappointment was replaced by glee, as her eyes fell upon Ricky’s approaching form. Odis had taken the lead, paddling vigorously toward her. He looked so cute, his fine fur flat to the skin akin to a soaked mallard. Sybel laughed and swam back toward the two, clearly enjoying herself. “Good job!” She exclaimed to the animal, her hand ruffling the top of his head. It took a moment or so for his owner to catch up. “And in last place, Ricky the Fisher Extraordinaire!” A lilting little laugh escaped her lips. “How is it that a girl who lived in the desert for most her life can beat a fishermen in an underwater race?” She teased him lightly as they floated along. “I mean, what is the world coming to?” Shielding her face from a potential splash, she backed up a foot or so.

“So what would you like to do now, fearless leader?” Her tone was breathless from the exertion of the sprint. The urge to float along on her back was powerful, but trying to retain some semblance of modesty, she resisted. After all, everything she had to… Well, offer would be completely on show in the full moonlight. Which was not a problem, excepting the pointed lack of knowledge she had on her counterpart. He was an animal lover and seemed nice enough, but anyone could still shape up to be a goon. Only time would reveal the man’s true colors. For now she would continue to tread, ready to defend herself against any and all splash-attacks.

As they spoke, she admired how the gentle moonlight kissed each dark, rolling peak as they drifted lazily past. The lack of light set the water to a shade of deepest navy, nearly onyx. Like an endless void of black. This might unnerve most people, but Sybel to the contrary was quite used to the unknown. With every new place she’d been it was a mystery to surrender herself to. Control was more an illusion than anything. It was just another human conceit; at any time, the gods could strike them down or raise them up, just as easily as nature could thwart them. Their lives were encased in a fleshy exterior. While your mind felt as invincible as Isurian Steel, your heart was as fragile as a babe. That was the unfortunate truth. Therefore, any time spent worrying about ceding the illusion was just a plethora of wasted energy. Why not put it to better use?

“Well?” She challenged, grinning.

When she teased Ricky he did feel inclined to create a splash fight, but instead was more settled with one playful splash to her. He was smiling because of the pure fun they were having, almost like they were close friends already. He only laughed and sokewhat shrugged, as he was still waving his arms back and forth under the water to keep afloat. Odis swam back to his master when Ricky was finally close enough, the dog now resting his head and fore paws on Ricky's right shoulder. He gave Ricky kisses gleefully after finally resting for a chime, leaving Ricky with only the option to laugh as he tried to pull his face away. Then the question of the bell came up, what were they going to do next?

Hm. Being one that was indeed a good question, Ricky pondered on the thought. They had already had a race which Ricky graciously lost, so what else does two new acquaintances to when skinny dipping under the moon. Innocently Ricky smiled as he turned his gaze from the stars he zoned out on to Sybel, and with a curious expression he admitted to the beautiful lass. "I dunno, what else is there to do?" He said it humbly but with a slight challenge, up for anything she could throw at him. So far they have had great fun in playing around with each other. However there was another idea that came to his mind, one that sounded rather simple but fun to try. "Tell ye what, take a deep breath and we'll see who can stay under the longest."
