Reaching a high note

13th day of spring, 513
Hall of Aural Creation

The room smells unpleasant from the odor of decaying hay. It has been at least a year or two since the hay surrounding the outside of the room has been changed. Though it is not the room with the oldest hay, that doesn't mean it doesn't smell any better. However, Lorelle is not to focused on what is filling her nose right now. No, instead she is focusing on creating the lyrics for a melody she randomly came up with the other day. The feat has so far proven to be harder than she first thought as Elle can not for the life of her settle on a topic for her song to be on.

Most people have the problem of not having enough ideas or their ideas are old and have been used a dozen times over. This however, is not the case with Lorelle. Instead of having to little ideas she has to many. Topics and ideas flow in and out of her mind, none of them fitting with one another but all sounding good in their own unique way. It is enough to drive one mad.

"Sing me a sweet song, a song that I can use ... A song for ... Lorelle sings random words that fit her high ranged melody, but the words abruptly stop as Elle's train of thought does the same. Letting out an irritated growl, Elle stands up from her seat and paces the length of the room.

Her feet stomp the ground as she allows herself to vent her rage. Another reason the girl should not be trying to do this, she is to easily aggravated with herself.
"Come on mind please! I should be able to do this! Everyone else can!"she shouts to the walls of the room as she stamps her foot upon the ground.

After stomping around the whole room and throwing a fit like a little kid, the angry, now green eyed Vantha sits back down to try again.
"Ok, let's try this again,"she talks to herself as she takes a breath and tries to get her emotions under control. Slowly it works and her eyes turn from a seething sea green to a dark, calm brown color.

Taking a deep breath, using her diaphragm, Elle manages to calm herself down further and the muscles in her neck begin to loosen up once more. She decides to begin with some scales to just exercise her vocal chords while she picks a topic for her song. She starts simple with just some Os, Ahs, and Las. She goes up with her scales till she reaches the very top of her soprano range and then she goes all the way down to the bottom of it. It goes well and to her inner ear her voice sounds fine.

Now feeling calm, Lorelle turns back to figuring out words to her song. The break hasn't proven to make things any easier and Elle fears that this could be a very long day as she stares at her hands, trying to settle on an idea.

Reaching a high note

So most people might already know this, but staring at your hands does absolutely nothing when it comes to coming up with ideas. Nothing. If anything it makes your mind get less and less focused on the goal trying to be reached. You start focusing on how your nails look and wondering why those pesky hangnails keep appearing. This is sadly where Elle's mind is. She has found one of her nails is uneven and is trying to bite it down to even it out.

This distraction lasts about two chimes when it finally dawns on Elle that she is just wasting time. Growling at herself, the Vantha turns back to looking at the blank sheet of paper she took from her parents today so that she would have something to write her lyrics on, once she figures some out that is.
"Come on Elle, focus. This isn't hard. People write songs everyday! They have to start somewhere right?"the girl sounds a little strange talking to herself, but luckily the hay surrounding the room blocks anyone from hearing her.

Sighing, the girl closes her eyes and focuses her mind.
"Ok Elle, think. What is something you know about that impacted you? First thing that pops into your mind you are using," she orders herself. The girl sits in silence for exactly one tick. Her eyes open and turn bright, vengeful, blood thirsty red."Fine, lost love it is."

Reaching a high note

It doesn't take long for Lorelle to figure out where to draw her inspiration for this topic matter from. There was one short, glorious time when there was a boy. It didn't last long and he disappeared for awhile. Lorelle had began to think that he had left her for someone else or just wasn't interested, it was soon found out however that his life had been taken. How it was taken, well not even Lorelle knows. Or she does and she has blocked it from her memory. Whatever happened, Lorelle was crushed for the incident and had this feeling of being abandoned for the longest amount of time. It is from this time that she draws her inspiration.

Now words. Those don't come as easy. The feelings Elle is feeling is abandonment, loneliness, and the feeling of the heavy weight that used to live within her chest for that time after he was gone. At first she felt as though he had left her on purpose. So anger is another feeling she is has right now. Her eyes are a mix of multiple, mixing colors that cannot choose which one works best for her currant burst of feelings.

Sighing, Elle stands up again. Trying to settle on words. She draws up the conclusion that she should just speak out whatever words come to her and throw them out if they don't work and keep them if she feels they could be piece in this puzzle that will be her song. And so she begins.
