Cisel arrives in Zeltiva

*
The ship had sailed from the Sebakem Ocean into Mathews Bay, to finally dock at Zeltiva's port. Cisel stepped ashore, her body still expecting to feel the rolling of the waves. Unused to the sudden immobility of the ground under her feet she stopped, feeling like she would lose her balance.

She stood nearly 6 feet tall, her posture straight, her auburn hair fluttering around her in the fresh breeze. The long sheepskin coat and knee high boots she wore were simple and looked well used, but did their job, protecting her from the wind. On her back was a backpack that looked like it had done lots of travelling.

A small, fluffy and awkward looking falcon chick sat on her gloved left hand. It shifted slightly where it sat, mowing it’s clawed talons restlessly and turning its head back and forth. The woman stroked it’s feathers carefully with her fingers and in a low and soothing voice she said something that was perhaps words, or perhaps just some kind of bird sounds, clicking, softly cooing.

Cisel stood there watching for a while. She saw a myriad of small piers, ships, smaller boats, people of many races working in the harbour, loading and unloading goods. Then she put the falcon chick in the small cage she was carrying in her right hand, and walked through the docks and into the town.

10th Day of Spring 513AV

Traveling was a long, and perilous journey, Lexa ached. Her throat was dry. She was hungry and exhaustion sweaped over her like a veil. Her eyes had lines of tiredness under them, and her hair looked like the end of a broom, but on her face she wore a determined expression. She thought about all the people she had met on her way. Some stuck out, Like Amon, and Eida, the beautiful and kind Ethafal. She would make new bonds here though. Stronger, maybe.

When lexa crossed that last stretch of land before entering Zeltiva, a sence of overwhelming relief struck her. She had made it, finally. Walking on foot had taken her a long time, but she had finally got there. She broke out into a mad grin and just about skipped up to the entrance.

What would await her in this place, Lexa didm't know, but she walked into the cities walls with an open mind, and with new hope.

This would turn out well. This had to turn out well.

Postby Amon Fade on March 8th, 2013, 6:19 pm

8th Of Spring 513AV

Amon was sore from many days spent in the saddle and sleeping in the wilderness, which he would usually be fond of but this trip hadn't been a kind one. From accidentally stabbing a girl to being kept awake all night by a very noisy owl, lets just say Amon was glad this trip was over. Amon hoped he would meet new people, learn new things and go on new adventures while in Zeltiva, maybe even make it his home.

As he neared the end of the Mirahil pass, Zeltiva finally came into view, even from this distance the clash between new and old buildings was apparent. The bay's water was a crystal blue, the sunlight reflecting off the calm waters of the bay. Even though the sun was out a cold wind bit at his face.

As the city grew larger and larger Amon wore a smile, reaching from one ear to the other. A fellow traveler he had talked to told him a lot about Zeltiva, the businesses, the streets, general information and different places you can go to for all your needs.

Amon left his horse at the stable and walked towards the inn, he was at least going to spend his first night in a comfortable bed.

OOCBetter late than never

7th Fall, 512 AV

The last ragged remnants of Denval arrived upon a bitter bonesnapper-wind early in the fall season. The sturdy Zeltivan trader moored quietly upon the shore, causing little drama amongst the few people that dared braved the weather.

Talen stood in the bow of the ship, staring at the vast, gray and colourless city which covered the coastline. Zeltiva seemed gargantuan to him, large enough to swallow him and his kin without pausing for breath.
He felt tiny facing this strange land, but comforted by the weight of the shield on his back and the longsword upon his hip. His belongings lay in a neat pile next to that of dozens of others inside the bowels of the ship. The sounds of his people uttering praise at the sight of land in their Denvali dialect was envigorating, and a cold wind was nothing strange to a northerner. They would defend themselves, and he could imagine no danger this place could provide worse than the wrath of the gods and the elements which had consumed their home.

An officer called out for people to get to work, and Talen turned swiftly to help transport everyone's belongings to their new homes. The Denvali Endured.

75th Spring 513,

It was certain, as Corneliun Frik staggered off the boat, that land was indeed a valuable thing, and that the people of his blood should never leave it. The rocking motion of the vessel he had been stuck within for most of the season had done little for his stomach, or any of his faith to the open ocean. He hated it to say the least, and upon stumbling out into the fresh air and the docks, he found himself once more in his element. Or at least, until the queasy sensation hit him. Boats were never his forte, and most likely never will be.

With reluctant, shaking legs, the strangely dressed man, pushed himself through the crowd, onwards to adventure. Though more preferably to a place where he could at least stop the fluid rocking motion that consumed him, along with a good meal and a place to lie down. To have a good time. To do what he needed to do. But there was one more important thing on his mind above all those. To find something that he was looking for, and that only searching for it would bring the answer.
Let's get the show on the road!

Well, Hallie had said to her new friend that she wouldn't even know she was there. And indeed, Hallie had managed to follow Lexa all the way to Zeltiva without so much as a scratch on her soft belly. But...
Hallie was absolutely and utterly lost.
Somehow the action of entering the large city had caused her to lose the trail of the other girl, which was understandable. Zeltiva was the largest city Hallie had ever encountered. Hallie hadn't encountered many cities at all, or towns for that matter. But she believed firmly in her mind that Zeltiva must be the largest city in the whole of Mizahar.
Friend or no friend, Hallie went in search of a place to stay.

[Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Shane on March 22nd, 2013, 1:00 am

Shane had always liked floating through the ocean. Being a ghost, he always felt out of place with the living, but in the water he would loose himself watching all the fish and other creatures as they went by. They paid him no notice, as most living things did when he wasn't trying to be seen. However the beauty of their vibrant colors and how they traveled together could always entrance his eyes. He wondered if he had liked watching fish when he was alive, but as that was so long ago he really had no way of finding that fact out.
It was the depressing thought that he didn't remember what living felt like that made him want to come back to land. He didn't know how long he had been in the water, and frankly he didn't care, time really had no consequence for him.

when he had moved up to the surface he saw the port of Zeltiva. It seemed to be fairly busy today, he was sure he could find someone in the midst he could possess to get something to eat. He didn't need food of course, but the sensations of it was something he adored.

he drifted onto land, going through the masses of people undetected. within a few moments he had found his target, a sleeping urchin huddled behind boxes of crates. He drifted his body down, taking control of the body. It was easier to take over kids, especially homeless ones who were asleep, they were dealing with so much that it was a relief for them to loose control for a bit.

He woke his borrowed body and stretched out before sitting up, scratching the dirty scalp "ugh, I hate it when they are dirty..." he pushed himself off the ground, a little wobbly since he wasn't normally used to a body with mass

"now..." he said with a slight smirk, testing his temporary voice "time to find some food"

Postby Erik on March 23rd, 2013, 12:50 am

15th of Spring, 513

Erik had been traveling for quite some time, along the roads for once instead of the wilds out in the roving hills. He had heard good things about Zeltiva, mostly from his father who had studied at the university there in his youth. Erik was not interested in learning from the teachers of the university, no this was just a simple supply run, one of many he suspected he would be doing in the great port city.

The young reimancer patted his horse gently, Illan had been driven hard to get him here as the supplies had been running dangerously low. Once they were inside the famed port city he intended to give his companion a much needed rest. Besides he wanted to see what he could get in the city market for the furs he had collected from the wilds.

Hopefully this would be an interesting learning experience, and at pleasant one at that. Erik intended to stay here for a night then head back out into the Wildlands, he would probably return in a weeks time for supplies again. Today he would be getting the lay of the land, so to speak. Erik urged Illan on towards the city, the sooner they got inside the sooner they could both rest.
By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experiance, which is bitterest.

[Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Thayer on March 31st, 2013, 3:07 am

Timestamp: 14th Day in Winter, 511 AV

The colour of the grass was white; rime had plastered itself rock solid across the pieces of plant. Thayer tried to keep her head up, to settle the oncoming tears down, but was mesmerized by the dewdrops that were forming from the sun's radiating heat.

It was the day of her birthday and she was to turn 14 in human years. She always liked to remember how old she was in terms of the human's aspect on age. She was always satisfied with how she was able to morph into one and back into her animalistic form. She was intrigued by the anatomy of a human and the way they spoke and did everyday things. And now she was past the first age of the teenager’s change, and it was passing her by.

"Happy birthday," came a faint but distinctive voice. Thayer turned her furry head to her right and caught a glimpse of a colourful tail swooping down to eye level.

Thayer had recently been catching onto her friend Enyo's bird speak, and knew what his statement said.

"Thanks," she muttered as she continued her trek south to her destination of Zeltiva.

Her family of tightly knit small wild cats and other small mammals had just experienced a graphic tale of invasion and were slowly making their way south to a better home and a safer land.

"I'm sorry that you can't celebrate it with your family, Thayer," came Enyo's voice again. It's sound waves travelled through the thick evergreen bristles up top, and messed with the pattern of sound to where Thayer couldn't interpret his words exactly.

She just heaved a sigh and pressed her tail between her legs, trying to focus her attention on something less disappointing.

"Want to play a game?"

Thayer shook her head. "No."

"Come on. I promise I won't cheat." Enyo was now perched on the branch of a nearby birch tree, scanning Thayer's sullen eyes for any sign of budging. Thayer was growing impatient and felt the need to rest, so she trotted on up to where her older brother Toril was leading the small pack of relations to better lands. She needed to tell him she was weak and needed sleep.

"Where are you-?" Enyo's shrill voice screamed into her ear, but she blocked it out and continued her pace toward the front of the mob of animals.

"Toril," she spoke to him sternly. Things had been rough the past few days. Her father had left, in search of others and her mother... well... her mother was gone. She was gone and as far as Thayer knew, she wasn't going to come back anytime soon.

Thayer's older brother stopped walking, his human form a contrast to all the smaller critters that followed him behind.

His understanding of his sister, considering the difference in animal genes, was enhanced due to relation, but even as a human he still had trouble understanding a Canadian Lynx.

"What?" He whispered to her, voice stone cold and dry. He sounded tired and weakened himself.

Thayer swallowed a thick gulp of air before continuing. "Perhaps we should stop for rest?"

"Thayer, we're in the middle of nowhere!" Toril's sudden outburst had Thayer shrink back into the brush behind her, needle like claws sinking themselves into her fur.

"I'm sorry," he apologized as he straightened himself up, his dark cloak hiding his blood shot eyes that had been surrounded by dark circles from the lack of sleep. "Just a little nap and that's it. We aren't safe yet."

Thayer nodded her head, crystal blue eyes holding much fear at her brother's previous lashing out.

She scampered off into the distance, her friend Enyo on her tail, before she stopped short and curled up into her comfortable, tight fit ball.

Her mind travelled for the longest time before she caught flashbacks of the horrendous events that had led up till now. The thunderous growls, the clap of heavy feet on forest floor, the shrieks of animals and the disturbance of fleeing flocks of birds. And then all were being chased by large creatures with big teeth and enormous bodies; with eyes that looked ready to kill and mouths that could decapitate an ocean of humanity.

And then Thayer woke up, out of breath, sweating and staring into the hard eyes of her older brother.

"Toril," she murmured.

"Get up," he growled. "We need to continue onward."

And so she did, every now and again looking behind her back, expecting to see dark, menacing eyes or demonic smiles of threatening creatures. But no harm came until she and the rest of the group of animals that had travelled with her and her intermediate family came face to face with the entrance to Zeltiva and its glorious wonders.

[Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Nero Syriam on March 31st, 2013, 6:14 am

Time Stamp: 30th Spring 513 AV

Nero looked down at Zeltiva from the hilltop and smiled. He smiled and patted his horse's side "Finally here Night Rider. Zeltiva the City of Knowledge beside the ocean." Thinking back to a month earlier "And the masters said we'd never make it." Slowly he slid from Night Rider's saddle and with a groan stretched out his wings. "Lets take a look and what better a view than an aerial one." With a grunt he beats his wings and takes off in the direction.

Nero grins at the view of Zeltiva. He sighs slowly and begins to descend. For the past five minutes he has been hovering over the port city and admiring the beautiful sight. As he makes his way to the ground a young girl looks up and with a great big smile waves at him. In amusement Nero waves back. The girl mother frowns at him and pulls the child of the side whispering. "Stay away from him. His is a Zith they aren't to be trusted." The child's turns to Nero and waves again this time sadly. Nero smiles at her but it doesn't reach his eyes. He mutters to himself "How can you judge us as one people?" With a sigh he shakes the thought clear of his head and looks around. "Wow" he says. "I'm really here." With that he walks off to begin exploring his new home.
