8th of Spring 513 AV. Gideon moved swiftly threw crowds of people as he made his way to the center of the market, he looked for a clothing stall. He wanted to buy a cloak to replace his old one, for his old cloak was becoming torn and worn. Its old black colour had worn out and become somewhat of a light gray. The wind blew threw his blonde hair his eyes weighted with drowsiness. He wanted to get out of here and return to his cottage so he could turn in early for the day. He finally found the stall he was looking for when a stranger abruptly shoved him to the side and ran past him. Gideon gathered himself and muttered curses under his breath and continued up to the stall where he intended to buy himself a new cloak."Oi mate What can i do for ya." The owner of the stall yelled to him. He replied quickly"A small black cloak please."The owner replied back"Alright then,10 silver mizas mate."Gideon handed the owner 10 silver mizas. As the man turned to go retrieve his cloak, he turned around and surveyed the area.

It was a busy Afternoon. The stall owner returned with his cloak and handed it to him. He quickly thanked him. He decided he might want to walk through the market to see if there was anything else he needed. He walked passed rows of stalls. People murmuring and making their purchases and hurrying off home. It was the perfect time for a thief to strike lots of people to get in the way of a pursuer. Gideon noticed someone at the end of the row. He saw a strange woman he hasn't seen before. He turned to the stall owner next to him.
"Who is she?" He said while pointing to the stranger."I don't know some foreigner just passing through buying some gear maybe." The stall owner replied back.Gideon thanked the man for this information and studied her more closely. He couldn't see anything wrong with her. Maybe she is just passing threw he thought to himself. Gideon still continued to watch her a wrenching feeling in his gut told him that she was up to no good. He hid behind a stall and watched her from a distance. Hoping she didn't see him waiting for her to make a move.

Walk normally, keep calm, look as if you're just here to spend cash.. Ana coached herself, it had been such a long time since she did a theft that involved tons of people nearby, it was torterous to ones mind. Of course there had been the time when she stole two small bottles of perfume from a Spires perfumery shop, how close had it been that she was almost caught? If it hadn't been for a morphed appearence, Ana was quite certain her reputation would have been stained. As if on that thought, her mind spurred her to do the same thing, she wouldn't be safe so long as she was still getting use to her skills.

There was purpose to her breathing, she inhaled, and then exhaled, and with each breath she expanded upon her djed, putting her will into it. Shutting her eyes for a moment, or two as she walked slower in hopes of avoiding stumbling into people, flushing her irises with the energy she felt make her senses writh with excitement. They dyed themselves blue, much like the foggy lake blue black color she had used back in Spires, the day she had morphed her appearence and used such a magically altered disguise to steal two bottles of perfume with her face shown clearly for the seller to see.
Slowly.. Easy does it.. Ana chided herself on, opening her eyes after the brief few moments, they were green and blue, intemixed with a dark brackish black color. Puffs of white, like mist seemed to fog over the blues and greens.

Stopping, she felt her head sway, and her senses swirl in on themselves as she kept the light djed focus up, she was now at the end of a corner.

Ana looked about herself, and at the stall she had stopped at, others were there as well. Busy, busy, and more busy as they went about their buisness. Shrugging off the rushing feeling of adrenaline, she made way to intergrate herself into their masses, picking items up, setting them down, waiting for the right move until one person moved to her side and pop went her hand into someones pocket as they moved about and then out with whatever spoils she could have lured out. Moving away to avoid being caught, she let a hand go to the handle of her dagger, a rather fine purse was at one mans side as he haggled with a growing frustrated merchant of boots. Knowing full well to be careful of where she stuck the dagger, she moved to stand next to him, dagger hidden beneath her cloak.

The target she had chosen looked well to be a foreigner as well, his clothes weren't necessarily bright and colorful, but they were well made, with splashes of reds here and there, shiny gold jewelery and the like. He must have been stupid, or not smart enough, from this close it was obvious to tell that how he dressed, he had more coin hidden on him somewheres, and that his purse was only a ploy to get a cheaper price. Those were only observations, and assumptions, she could have been totally wrong on both accounts, or spot on with her deductions; but it didn't matter to her, coin was coin.

Ana watched the merchant and the man go back and forth, when the foreign man threw a wide arm as if in exhasperation by the prices the boots were being sold, thankfully his hand didn't smack her in the face as it went past. Ana ducked underneath as she would grip the noose of the purse and let the dagger cut the strings, she worked in and around away from him. Straightening up, sheathing the dagger to her side and strolling away like nothing had happened, though she held an irritable look about her face, she tried to make it seem like she had gotten bored of waiting for the merchant and the man to stop fighting.

Eyes still rather murky blue, she attempted to move her cloak about herself in a way that seemed logical, she spilt the coins into her pants pockets and pushed the silly purse into her shirt, letting it slide down to rest in front of her stomach and inbetween shirt and tunic. Could she attempt even more larceny before her luck ran out? One monk went past her, and she tensed up, face hardening more so than it already had; her luck prevailed.

Gideon watched the strange woman for a long period of time something about her caught his eyes. her face her eyes the color...they were blue. He could have sworn they were a different color just short time ago. He kept watching her from a distance noticing other patterns in her behavior. She stood at a stall watching a man, another foreigner. Dressed in elaborately colored clothing. Even Gideon was smart to realize this man had some coin on him. Gideon studied the man arguing with the stall owner who was selling boots and other wares.

then he noticed the woman her eyes were closed. Then in a moment her eyes were back open she looked as if she was preparing for something. He pondered in his head for a few seconds having never seen anything like this What the heck is she doing? Gideon than noticed the foreign man lift up his arm making a gesture to the boots. Then time seemed to move slow as the man lifted up his arm Gideon blinked. It was a split second but when he opened his eyes the mysterious woman was gone.

What the...

Gideon spoke out loud. So loud that the patrons around him looked at him in bewilderment. He realized that in his position he looked somewhat of a stalker. He started walking towards where the woman once stood.

Where have you gone.

He muttered to himself.

And continuing he paused and saw her face in the crowd just on the other side of the stall. She was walking away from the stall before a monk crossed her path. Her face tensed up she froze. Gideon new she had done something. It took Gideon a few moments to piece the whole situation together. He smiled to himself and laughed. Then made his way toward her to confront her. He wanted to know why she was here. She didn't seem to be moving anywhere else. Gideon did not want to scare her or cause an incident, so he calmly walked toward her. He paused he started to perspire and he started to feel dizzy. He didn't even know how to talk to a woman and he felt that if he blasted her with questions it would not go so well.

Just calm down Gid start with hello try to start a conversation then ask her what she is doing here.

He walked up to her and quickly and dryly said

Hello ma'am i couldn't help tell you were new here and I'd like to welcome you to the city of nyka

The words came out of his throat rather course and sounded rather timid in his own my mind his only hope as that she didn't receive this accosting as a threat. He awaited one of two things a swift kick to the chin or a friendly or questionable greeting in return.

A sense of relief washed over her as she was promptly ignored by the monk, her shoulders slumping only by a smidgeon with the victory she felt. She let out a sigh of her graditude, to which ever god that had allowed her to pass by uncaught, and then she straightened up again. Her eyes warbling inbetween blue and gold as her focus marred itself by her relaxment, she put a clamp on it, and refixed the blue where she felt as if the djed had become too thin in areas. There was a certain kind of enjoyment that one felt when they held power within their hands, and Ana was no exception to this, she enjoyed the feeling of using her djed when she could (but not all the time, she felt she had to also be careful, the few incidents last Winter had proven to her that magic was not a toy, and not something to be taken lightly.)

She held her hands behind her back, fiddling with her fingers as she stepped about the streets, inbetween people, and browsing further still into stalls of clothes. Perhaps she could find a scarf that wouldn't be too much? Not because she felt cold, she had her black, modded fur cloak to keep her warm if the days got to that point. Instead she wanted the scarf to add to her unknown identity within the city, the more concealed you presented yourself to be, the least likely you'd be found out, and recognized. She took this knowledge from having of used morphing, it was like a mask of ones identity, a dangerously physical one, but one none the less. She tutted at herself as she passed by a stall selling elaborate jewelry.

The shinys attracted her eyes, and she couldn't help but take a look before quickly sauntering away as the merchant would give her a dirty look.

"Uptight merchants.." Ana exhaled quietly out to the hustle and all the bustle going about, eyes searching now for scarves, and other such things.

Not there.. Not here.. Ah! There. Ana narrated to herself as she looked about, eyes scanning, and then her tiny self strolled up to the scarf stall and eyed up the wonderous, and colorful beauties. They were well made from what Ana could tell, one was a particularly eye catching red with gold embroiderment, of what possibly could have been a depiction of stalks of wheat at the end with the golden tassles.

She began to alert the shop keeper she wanted that scarf when she heard someone behind her adress her "Hello ma'am, I couldn't help tell you were new here" he started out, her head turning to let her eyes dart behind her to look at the blonde talking to her "and I'd like to welcome you to the city of Nyka" he finished off, she narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously.

"Oh, why thankyou, I came under the impression the lot of you Nykan's hated us foreigners" she turned her body completely around, so she was now facing him- sarcasm dripping from her voice.

Crossing her arms, she allowed her weapons to be seen in case the man decided anything funny, it of course, was a habit she was use to using when she had to keep her fingers in check "..and what do you want to harass me about?" The question was shot at him, harshly, she stepped away from him, distancing herself as much as she could without seeming too rude. Her mind could only think the worst of things, pessimistcally she let her mind linger on the fact she was foreign here, she had trouble getting to the Flaxen District in the first place anyways "come now, speak up" Ana demanded of him, "whats with the voice?"

He listened as she spoke her first words to him. "Oh, why thank you, I came under the impression the lot of you Nykan's hated us foreigners" then she turned around to face him. She crossed her arms and Gideon could see her weapons barely concealed in her cloak. Gideon felt fear run threw him he tried to make sure no sign of fear was shown on his face. "..and what do you want to harass me about?"The question struck him like an arrow. He could hear the harshness in her voice, and for some reason it had an effect on him. "come now, speak up" Gideon now felt like she was being a brat he looked down at the short woman her blonde hair shimmering in the light.she then spoke again. "What's with the voice." Gideon gathered himself for his mind was scattered from her barrage of harsh words.

"I didn't mean to be of trouble ma'am."

He said trying to make his tone sound as polite as posible

I just wondered if you need help finding you're way around. Having grown up here i know my way around and i can usually tell when someone is new here.

Gideon hoped he didn't sound to egotistical. He wanted to sound helpful or at least useful to this strange woman. He was yet to scared to ask her of reason here. He glanced down at her dagger. It glimmered as the sunlight hit it. Gideon thought to himself quickly. God why did i decide to pursue this crazy broad. His only hope is that this girl didn't decide to gut him.

He didn't let his eyes wander if he looked away or looked distracted she might get spooked or un-interested. He kept focused on her face. and tried not to look menacing and managed to force a slight smile on to his face. He hoped he came off to her as a rare friendly citizen of nyka who just wanted to help someone get their footing.

Ana blinked somewhat dumbfoundedly at his reaction, here was this taller man acting like a boy after just a few words said. Compared to him, she should have been the one scared, being in a new place, unware of the customs, and the taboos, the laws, rules, and entire way of life the Nykan's had; not him. Not this git that was now talking to her, she pulled a corner of her mouth back, as if getting ready to snarl at him. This was completely wrong, all wrong, not right at all, but she couldn't bring herself to be afraid of someone that could be intimidated by a little girl. Ana cocked an eyebrow at him as he tryed to explain himself, arms staying firmly across her chest. Come on.. Don't got all day.. Ana thought lamely to herself.

Disblief crawled its way into her thoughts, taking a seat on a comfy chair, throwing two muddy feet up to rest on a stool and reclined quite leisurely. Much like how Ana did so now, except she didn't have a chair to sit on, and she wasn't crawling, or had muddy feet. Now that she thought of it.. Her eyes went to her dusty boots, they weren't muddy, but definitely had grime and dirt on them from great use. Hadn't she passed a boot stall earlier? Ana's eyes traveled around the boy which had spoken to her to see if she could find that boot stall she had passed earlier, from where she was standing of course, only looking at the boy when she realized he was still there, staring at her, she felt slightly peturbed.

It was just a tad embarresing that her attention span had grown so short in just ticks of meeting him, poor boy, she felt slightly bad for him "you want to help me find my way around the city?"

If the boy wanted to be charitable in his services, who was she one to deny good will?

This day just keeps getting better, Ana thought to herself grimly.

"Then lead me back to the Hostel Hotel.. orrr.." Ana grudgingly asked, she dipped her chin inwards somewhat, letting the dark sleepless formed circles under her eyes enounciate themselves with the small movement as light became scarce in that area; giving her a rather morbidly somber appearence. She was only doing this for the fun of it, to see how far she could push him, and in turn- she felt rather amused by this boy now. It was a joke, to say she was intimidating, there were far scarier people than herself, but it must have been just her appearence that made her somewhat frightening. Ana tilted her head back up, smiling back at him "you can take me out on a tour of the city, your choice."

Gideon stood waiting for her to answer. He wondered how dumb she thought he was here he was taller than her and bigger than her yet he talks like a 15 year old who is talking to an elder. He studied her face, so if she told a lie maybe he could formulate something to say to bring the truth out.She glanced down at her boots. He seemed to notice that it was like she was looking through him as if he were some sort of translucent entity. Gideon thought to himself "Great another foreigner who cant keep their head straight."

Then she opened her mouth speak. Gideon braced himself he never knew what kind of dirty slanderous words would come out of her mouth next. "you want to help me find my way around the city?" Gideon was truly shocked for once something slightly nice came out of this girls mouth. He started to feel a little better maybe this could go well after all and it wouldn't be such a disaster. "Then lead me back to the Hostel Hotel.. orrr.. This grabbed Gideon's attention he thought to himself. "What is this crazy woman going to have me do?"

She did something with her face that Gideon didn't understand. He could tell however that the rings underneath her eyes were from many sleepless nights. "you can take me out on a tour of the city, your choice." She finished her sentence. Gideon looked toward the sky and found the sun's position he guessed the time. He then looked back down at the small woman and saw the rings underneath her eyes again. He decided he'd have mercy on this girls soul and just decide to bring her back to the Hostel.

"I can bring you back to the Hostel, You could do with some sleep by the look of ya." Gideon said in a happy tone as if he couldn't tell she was using him and abusing his kindness. He just hoped she bought his nice boy act and answered the next couple of questions he decided to ask.

Ana's facial expression faltered horribly, the smile she had put up fell into a frown at his words- when had anyone ever noticed the dark circles under her eyes? There had been some sort of trend with people, they didn't even hint to her sleepless appearence, let alone the possibility that they thought she could use some more sleep than she currently was getting. She regarded him with a cool expression, she didn't actually want to go back to the Hostel, and instead had hoped she could have gotten a personal tour around the city.
Divine so help me.. Ana let the thought pass, shaking her head at him and then sighing, again, who was she to turn down this 'kindness'? At least she would be back to her starting point again, and she could go searching about some more.

Taking a hand that she had crossed into her armpit, she let it flow through the air in a general direction, though for no particular one "lead on then boy."

She had to give him some credit that he had at least noticed the circles under her eyes, and she had said it was choice. Curse herself. Ana should have been more foreceful, and not nice enough to give him a choice, she should have exherted her power and threatened him while she still had that naive mind under her control. She brought the hand she had used to gesture to the whole of Nyka back crossed against her chest, she would follow him of course, but she would remain behind him trailing after or at least, that was her plan in the first place. As they travelled slowly, she realized she had completely forgotten to buy that scarf she wanted, mouth dropping in horror as she looked back. They were too far now for her to go back.

This soured her mood immensely, it had been such a nice scarf.. She turned her head away to look at the boy she was following, seethingly of course "so does the boy have a name I can use, or will I be stuck forever called you as 'The Boy Wonder'?"

Gideon noticed her visage revealed shock. Maybe she was surprised that he had mentioned that she looked tired. He payed no mind to that now though. The small girl pulled her arms from under her arm pits and leisurely waved our in a direction that was not the intended path of travel. "Lead on then boy." she said dryly. Gideon rolled his eyes and walked in the exact opposite direction her wave had previously gestured. He thought to himself...

"Either she is so tired that she doesn't have any regard for others and their proper names and enjoys referring to them as pronouns or she's just a stuck up brat...either way i am committed to this now so i guess there is no turning back."

He turned his head to see if she was behind him and not trying to slip away from him. She was following behind him at a distance.

"So does this boy have a name, or will i be stuck forever calling you as the boy wonder?"

The small woman said with conviction in her voice as if sending a signal straight to him. A signal to tell her his name. Gideon planned his next words carefully. He didn't want to set her off. Though it could lead to some accidentally leaked information. He decided to play it off smooth and just tell the young lady his name. He turned around quick and stuck out his hand.

"You can call me Gideon little lass."

He said noticing his Nykan accent seemed thick and heavy. He kept his hand stuck out and kept his hand firm and not gentle

"Dang it Gid you are an idiot you've never shook a woman's hand in your life what are you doing...I swear this better be worth the trouble its causing to my metal attitude."

He started perspiring nervously hoping he didn't make himself look like a complete and utter fool.

She waved his hand away, refusing to touch it, let alone shake it; if she was going to follow this Nykan around now known as Gideon, she would do it without all the pleasentries that went into a formal introduction. Clearing her throat, she only muttered a few words of unintelligible scatterings and continued to move on.

"Gideon?" Ana let the name roll off her tounge, like a candy being savored slowly.

It was a rather unique name, though hers was far different from his- she did take note that there was no last name was given, so in kind she would do the same "I'm Ana, and I would appreciate it if you didn't make any move to touch me," she looked behind herself at him, eyes narrowing "or I swear there will be fingers to be lost."

Tipping her head to him, as if letting him off the hook "first warning."

Straightening out her attire, she couldn't help but feel as if a game had been forming with this boy; of course she knew he couldn't have known, so that was why she told him first so as to prevent such things from happening later.

"Right" Ana breathed out, looking around herself feeling positively lost "where the petch are we going, Gids- boy wonder?" What was the point of having someone lead her back to the Hostel if she was only going to be getting lost more? Did he even know his way to the little haven of respite from Nykan stares, and a temporary home for those foreigners visiting for only a little while.

There was no answer, Ana glanced behind herself, now shocked at what she saw. Gideon had dissapeared on her, lost within the sparse amount of people Ana had to admit that was quite a feat of stealth. Had she scared the boy so badly? Her words had only been threats, not promises, and she wouldn't have really taken fingers if he warrented that kind of behavior. Ana would have just ran, like she always did, and would continue to do so despite feeling more confident in her abilities. There was a kind of dejection that hung about her frame, the morphed appearence she had brought out farted, and she returned to normal as she exhaled a breath of exhasperation. Waves of breathless energy lost in a matter of moments.

Great. Now I really get to be lost again; slouching her shoulders she began to bumble away in hopes of finding her way out of the quarter.

oocDate has been changed to the 9th of Spring, 513AV; and the last part on how Gids dissapeared was added in recently this May. :) 5/7/2013
