Lopeus was satisfied with how the event unfolded. Not only was the barbarian shopkeeper dealt with, but Lithan had also proved that he can be trusted. That might prove to be good and also quite useful in the long run. He gave a slight nod and continued on, evading the looks from the crowd. This time, however, he was able to move amongst the people avoiding nearly any and all contact with a grin.

I assume we do have a certain destination?

He asked and kept moving. While walking, he didn't hesitate giving a look to the surroundings, thus remembering the way they're going just in case. The scene that probably would've shocked him, had he before been to any other town, left him dead cold. So many lost people aimlessly wandering around, barely surviving off of cons and robberies. As they passed through each district, he would occasionally sense rotten smells and he was sure he even saw a few corpses on the way. Were he able to, he would probably have mixed feelings of hate and sorrow towards this town and it's inhabitants. He didn't feel either of those. He saw sheep that have long lost their shepherd, a highly controllable mass of people with questionable intelligence.

With that thought, he stopped thinking about it. He scared himself a little, that superior way of thinking was unknown to his mind, and he felt a slight headache afterwards. This is the first time he actually pondered anything at all since waking up and being found by Lithan.

"A destination? Why of course! We have one." Thundiirn didn't elaborate. Make the Nuit need him more, and stick closer by his side. "Just come right this way and we'll be there shortly."

As they walked, he saw the Nuit gazing around in confused wonder at everything. It was definitely strange. How had he ended up here? Thundiirn would have to find out in due time. For now, they made their way through the crowded streets towards the marketplace.

"By the way, do you Nuits get cold? Because it's gonna be gettin pretty chilly around here in the next week or so. We should probably buy you something warmer if you do. You have money, right?" This was of course a legitimate question, though he also wanted to be sure the Nuit could pay him for his troubles in some way. They passed by a few children, who stopped whatever little game they were playing to stare at the stranger a bit. He recognized the game as one he had played years ago, though he couldn't for the life of him remember the rules or name of it. Sunberthians seemed to have an eye for strangers, so he wasn't quite sure if they stared at the Nuit for being foreign or for being not human.

As they pushed through the busy market together, it quickly became clear that this Nuit was in no shape to keep up with him. Perhaps that was just how Nuits were, perhaps this one was just overwhelmed by Sunberth, he wasn't sure and really didn't care. However, Thundiirn lost the guy a number of times more and had to track him down based on the weird reactions of the crowds wherever he was repeatedly, and eventually it just became not worth the trouble.

Petchhhh... he thought to himself, thoroughly annoyed at this negative turn of the day. He didn't want to even buy anything now, he just wanted to go home and be rid of people for a bit.

And so, the next time this Nuit Lopeus lost him, Thundiirn intentionally walked around that always-present weird spot in the crowd, abandoning his escortee and going home to rest up.

As he was walking, he passed by an alleyway and saw the man he had fingered to save the Nuit, lying in a pool of his own blood with a dagger in his back. He felt somewhat guilty at this sight, but then again it wasn't his intent, he couldn't have known that the storekeeper would go THAT far. His conscience was still mostly clean, as far as he was concerned. And hey! Free dagger. Glancing around to make sure the coast was clear, he stepped into the alleyway and pulled it out of the dead man's back and looked it over for any signs of defects that would explain why it hadn't been retrieved by its owner after being stuck in someone's back.

Thundiirn
Grade :
Experience: 4 Observation, 2 Stealth, 2 Persuasion, 2 Subterfuge, 1 Tracking

Lores: Nuit: The Eternals, The Awkward Synchronicity of a Newborn Nuit, Nuit: Still Faces, Lopeus: A Waste of Time, Lopeus: Confused and Lost, Lopeus the Nuit

Miscellaneous: You gain a worn iron dagger (with a jagged edge, loose handle and a coating of rust).

Comments: It's a shame this thread didn't proceed any further since it looked like a potentially interesting opportunity to explore the mindset of a fresh Nuit. It was amusing and easy to read, though, so it was nonetheless enjoyable. Good work.
