Nai'a's Fortune.

Postby Lucas Arias on March 10th, 2013, 6:41 am

„There are more like you?“ Lucas asked. His eyes were wide with surprise. „Where do you come from? Why are your kind pink? If it’s not a mutation, is it a gift from a god?“ He had been given a gift from a god (or rather two gods) himself so that seemed like a logical explanation, although he couldn’t figure out what kind of advantage there was to being pink. Maybe the god in question had just had a really weird sense of humor.

As Nai’a told him to let his imagination fly, the former squire nodded. That was what he was best at. Instead of painting her in front of a landscape or making a plain background, he filled the background with different shades of blue. She was a dolphin. Dolphins lived in the water, so she would probbaly appreciate a background that looked like the sea.

„Done!“ he finally informed her and showed his masterpiece to her. The monkey looked a little weird, but otherwise it was a nice and very colourful picture. „What do you think?“

Nai'a's Fortune.

Postby Nai'a on March 11th, 2013, 2:43 am

The boy’s inquisitive nature was slightly tiring, but she kept a smile on her face. ”I was a slave, so I am not sure where ‘my king’ reside. I am a fresh water dolphin; I can swim in salt water too. No gift from a God.” Nai’a spoke soft and calm, chuckling a little at the end. She did not know of any God’s that would grant such a color to an animal or person, but maybe it was possible. Some God’s were tricksters after all, so who knew.

Nai’a watched Lucas paint her, the deep frown of concentration on his face as he painted on the canvas was so professional. He glided his hands around the canvas as if they were dancing with the brush. Once he was done he showed her the painting. It was exquisite. The background was lovely hues of blues, reminding her of the sea surrounding Zeltiva, and then there she was with her stark pink hair, and the oddly shaped Meka. It was very well done.

”That is exquisite. You did a wonderful job! I absolutely love it. How much do I owe you for the painting?” Nai’a spoke excitedly keeping a small smile lingering on her lips. The painting was marvelous.

Nai'a's Fortune.

Postby Lucas Arias on March 19th, 2013, 9:05 am

„A slave?“ Lucas repeated and shuddered. He hated slavery with a passion. In his opinion everybody should be free, no matter whether they were human, Kelvic or something entirely else. „How did you escape? Or did your master decide that slavery is wrong after all and set you free?“

As she informed him that her being pink was not a gift from a god, the former squire inclined his head, as if he accepted that statement. In truth he wasn’t completely sure. She looked too unusual. There had to have been at least a tiny bit of divine intervention somewhere.

„Thank you!“ Lucas replied and smiled brightly as she complimented him on his painting. „You don’t really owe me anything. I needed the practice. But if you insist on compensating me for the time I spent making this painting …“

He smiled again and handed his completed ‚masterpiece’ to her.

Nai’a nodded her head to his questioning of her being a slave. Then answered his next question, ”No, I was purchased by a kind mage, during an action of the other slaves.” Nai’a said simply. She did not really want to relish on those memories, her time as a slave was not a happy one. Her former bondmate was murdered so that was not something she really wanted to talk about either.

She was happy for the topic change though, and looked at the painting with a smile. ”This is beautiful. You have done an excellent job capturing my human and animal side in this.” Nai’a handed the boy 1gm for the painting, ”I hope that compensates the time you spent on this. Until we meet again fortune teller.” Nai’a bowed her head and smiled, as Meka gave a little squeak to the boy, and they walked out of the tent.
