Coolwater Spring is a small pond in the midst of Taloba. It lays off a well traveled path near the markets and is often frequented by weary Myrians looking to relax after a long hot day. The unspoken rule of the Spring is that one leaves their troubles at the edge of the water, for any feuds, hatred, or annoyances, the Spring is a place of peace and solitude for any who wish to enjoy its cool and cleansing waters. The peaceful fish that lay in its waters are off limits, and a very communal attitude is taken by the city when caring for the waters. Every spring new plants are put into the soil, and it is one of the cleanest spots in the city, for if there is any litter, the perpetrator or others will be sure to remove the offending articles. Legends say the Spring was given to the Myrians by Makutsi after an unbearably hot summer in which even the monsoons would not cool the inhabitants of Taloba. A great dance was held around the basin of murky muddy water where the Spring now lies, a resolute act of the people defying the great heat. It is said that a torrential flood of rain so cold it was nearly sleet rained down upon the dancers, bringing Makutsi down with it. Her touch cleansed the waters and keeps them at a nearly chilled temperature all year round. There is a small shrine to her at one end of the pond to which many people pay their respects after their visit.
