Early Childhood: The majority of Lyall’s early memories are lost to him, leaving only nameless faces behind. Still, he has his father’s journal, which helps to fill in some of the gaps. He knows for certain that his parent’s relationship was not a romantic one. Both were slaves of his old master, Donovan Asher, and while his mother died in servitude, Lyall firmly believes that his father found his bond mate and escaped.
Later Childhood: It was as he got older that the Asher children, Lucas and Rose, took an interest in him, although it was a different kind of interest that motivated the brother and sister. Lucas was older than Rose, and he took great pleasure in causing Lyall trouble. He wasn’t pleasant to be around, constantly pulling Lyall’s tail, or stepping on his paws in all of his obnoxiousness. Needless to say, Lyall preferred the company of Rose, who at fifteen was softer in every way than her brother, always so calm and collected. He in turn kept her occupied, and amused her with his childish antics. By the time Lyall was physically twelve, a weak first level bond had formed between himself and Rose, and he found his mental development slowing to a near standstill.
Teenage Years: As Lyall grew, so did others interest in him. He was always a charming child, with curious green eyes and a dimpled smile, but as he developed more masculine features, it was clear that he was good looking. Unfortunately, he seemed childishly oblivious to his own appeal, and that of others. He was now physically older than his own personal savior and long time friend, Rose, who was a young 17. With their age gap filled, the two spent the majority of their time together. Despite Rose's first hand knowledge of his youthful nature, she felt a stronger pull to the Kelvic than most as a result of their bond, and her friendship gradually turned to attraction. Lyall, in turn mirrored her emotions, and driven as he was by his animal nature, was easily persuaded of his own feelings for her. The head of the Asher family had always been wary of the potential attraction between two bondmates --even forced ones-- and when he was informed by a servant of his daughters intimate relationship with Lyall, he wasted no time in having him beaten senseless and then promptly banished him from his home.
Young Adult: With his bond broken, and his home gone, Lyall found himself feeling betrayed and alone. He didn't understand much of the world around him, and he struggled to choose his own path. Still, as the months passed without a forced bond tethering his mind, he found his morals and knowledge further developing, although at an agonizingly slow pace. Still finding it difficult to keep up with humans and their sharp minds, Lyall found solace in his tiger form, content to lead a nomadic lifestyle.
