Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

Micah's mouth, which had been turned upward in a smile slowly faded. His arm felt better, and this Konti was just as friendly as the one that had left...but.

Then he shrugged and smiled a bit shamefully. "Twas in a storm. I knew it was comin' ya see, the air gets a certain taste to et when storms come in off the sea, but I was far off the coast, too far. Came back as fast as I culd, but it caught me in the middle, tossed me 'bout like ah doll. I hit the rocks and bunged up my wing, and cause I was so cold afterwards...well I didn't feel good at all, so I came here, ya see?" He shook his head so his hair covered some of his face. "It was a stupid mistake...shulda known better...but, I know all the nice ladies will make me better, ya know? Like you."

He beamed at his compliment, clearly proud of himself at the accomplishment, then leaned in towards her. "I don't recognize you though, and I can remember all the nice pretty ladies. Are you a healer I just aint seen yet?"

The Kelvic was clearly hungry for communication and contact, even if he couldn't have been holed up long. A bird lacking its flight capabilities, however, was a sad thing, and Micah liked any and every distraction he could find.

Come, Young Grasshopper [Aunalee]

Postby Aunalee on March 6th, 2013, 2:03 am

Aunalee could feel pain in her chest rise, an odd unfamiliar feeling that made the atmosphere of the room turn dark as the Kelvic told his story. It broke when he said his compliment. She smiled a little before he leaned in. She didn't mean to but stepped back a foot to be safe as he asked his question.

"You're my first patient." Aunalee said with a sweet smile still minding her distance from him. "I don't mean to be rude but I have a cur-" Aunalee bit her tongue half way through the word and swallowed hard. "A very... Unique gift from Avalis. She has granted me a sixth sense that tells me..." Aunalee paused again and felt her eyebrows scrunch lost in thought. 'How do I word this? Oh for goodness sake.' She took a deep breathe then continued. "It's basically sensual touch. So please keep a fair distance from me." Aunalee said as Micah stifled a laugh. Aunalee felt herself smile as well.

"Guess that was silly to worry about but I'm glad you're safe. Storms are tricky to predict." Aunalee said but she was sure Micah already knew it. "That they are." He said and sat back down in his bed still smiling from Aunalee's confession.

Micah didn't seem overly concerned with Aunalee's gift. This could have been because he was Kelvic, or could have resulted from the fact that he had heard of a vast array of skills that Konti possessed as their birth right. Whatever the reason he merely cocked to his head to the side, sensing her embarrassment and attempting to alleviate it with a smile.

He got momentarily distracted by the bandages, and gingerly practice wrapping them about one arm, checking to see if Aunalee approved before setting them to the side.

"Glad to see you two are getting along so well." Lim'ai returned with a small sack, probably filled with the salve and bandages and set them beside Micah's bed. "Take the day to rest, I don't want you stressing the fracture anymore then needed, and when you're ready to go, everything you need is right here." She tapped the bag lightly with her foot and smiled at Aunalee. "Shall we?"

She guided the fellow Konti from the room, Micah giving a wave and a farewell to them before walking Aunalee at a much slower pace across the lawn. "You seem like a reliable sort, Aunalee. Good with patients, knowledgeable about your craft, and familiar with your gift."

Once they entered the temple, Lim'ai greeted Merida before leading Aunalee down winding tunnels into the substantially more submerged portions of the temple. "You shall be accepted here for study, Aunalee. It is a rigorous and intensive two years, but well worth the effort, I assure you." Slowly water began to fill the halls, and the Konti walked in water that slid up to their calves. "Down here are the dormitories where you will reside. A stipend is provided for all students, and meals are included, and you will receive this by helping around the temple, laundry, gardening, cleaning, etc."

She arrived at a doorway that held several beds. Some of them were partially submerged depending on the Konti's preference, but others hung aloft, attached to the walls by strong vines that grew out of the walls. Lim'ai smiled and gestured to the room which was marked with a distinct tropical fish in order to help students remember which was theirs: this one sported a puffer fish. "This is where you will be staying for the duration of your time with us, though of course we give leave to stay and visit relatives and friends on the island, it just must be passed by a teacher or other healer before hand. Do you have any inquiries for me, Aunalee? I know this can be a lot to take in."

Aunalee watched as Micah wrapped his arms with the bandages and then looked up at her. She nodded and smiled, glad to see she could teach. Lim'ai came back into the room, setting down Micah's small bag of medicine and bandages. Lucy followed Lim'ai across the tent and just as they were leaving, she waved back at Micah. Lim'ai guided her slowly outside the tent, not much time had past for the sun had barely moved across the sky. 'Hm thought that took longer but I guess not.'

"Thank you." Aunalee said at Lim'ai's praises. They entered the temple and saw Merida still sitting behind the front desk. Lim'ai greeted her so Aunalee followed in suit. The two walked through so many tunnels it made Aunalee's head hurt. 'I think I'm going to need a map just to find the bathroom...' Cool water hit Aunalee's boots, making her look down instead of ahead. Her blonde head quickly flipped back up, her blue eyes searching for Lim'ai and was glad to see she was only a few steps away. 'Well that was close.'

The two reached a room and Aunalee tried to hold back a gasp of excitement. 'I really did it! I'm a student!' She couldn't help but feel smile creep up on her face. Looking over the beds, she noticed many were submerged and others were hung on the ceiling, clinging to the vines. Her eyes found a puffer fish on the wall, the marker of the student's room. "A few actually. First, how in the world do I find my way around here? Second, which beds mine? And lastly, what are my duties for the rest of the day and tomorrow?" Aunalee asked in a speedy fashion, obviously showing her excitement.

"All excellent questions." Lim'ai gestured outside of the room, pointing to small wooden panels embedded in stone walls. "These will point you to where you need to go." This particular panel had four locations, another dormitory section, the kitchens, the dining hall, and the aquatic gardens, each displaying a helpful arrow to lead someone to right locale.

"I'll admit it is a lot bigger than it looks on the outside, and much to take in, but you'll get used to it soon enough. As for the bed" Lim'ai glanced in and looked around for a moment. "You're the first one to use this room so you can take which ever bed you fancy."

She leaned back and folded her arms over her chest, contemplating the last question. "There are daily chores that get posted in the Dining Hall, they are generally put up early in the morning. You won't have any this evening, but they will start in the morning and you can check there. There's lots to do, but plenty of time in between for your studies." She smiled a little trying to remember if there was anything else and letting Aunalee contemplate the same question. "Sound good?"

Come, Young Grasshopper [Aunalee]

Aunalee smiled, adrenaline pumping through her veins so fast she couldn't help but jump up and down excitedly. "Sounds wonderful." She strode into the room, water gently splashing against her black boots. She glanced up to the ceiling at one of the beds hanging by vines. 'How in the world do I get up there?' She glanced towards the wall and was more then relieved to find what looked like a vine ladder. She flipped around, spraying water in the air.

"Do I have to take classes?" Aunalee wondered aloud and looked at Lim'ai a bit curiously. 'I'm sure most of the healers before me had to figure out everything by themselves so maybe I'll have to do the same.' She licked her lips which were starting to get dry even though it was only a few days into winter.

The healer nodded, a bit more seriously. "Classes are a very important part of becoming a healer. There are one's offered from anything to herbalism to combat medicine, and it is up to you what you choose to focus in, but as an Opal Healer you are striving to become an expert in medicine and the plants you can use to help your patients, to keep it in perspective.

The smile returned and she retreated from the room. "Classes are free for students during their time studying at the Opal Temple, so do not worry about that, and you can sign up for them with Merida at the front desk, she'll get you all squared away."

Lim'ai took a look down the hall, waving to some fellow healer in the distance, then focused back on the new Opal pupil. "Well, Aunalee, let me be the first to welcome you to our Order as a student, I hope you enjoy your time here." She paused to check if there were any final questions, then departed to leave so the girl to sort herself out and take stock of her situation, a smile on the Konti's face remembering when she began as just a student of the Opal Order. If Aunalee was paying attention, she would see a beautiful snowflake that glistened like melting ice in Syna's rays upon her ankle. A mark which could explain why the woman was dressed so lightly in the beginning of winter.

Come, Young Grasshopper [Aunalee]

Postby Aunalee on March 18th, 2013, 11:12 pm

Aunalee listened to what she had to do in order to accomplish her dream. She then saw Lim'ai wave to someone she couldn't see. Aunalee shook her head at the Konti's last question then watched her leave, her eye catching what looked like a snowflake on the Konti's ankle before she disappeared from the doorway. 'I wonder what god rules of that gnosis?' She glanced up at the bed again but decided sleep could wait. She walked out of the room and looked up at the arrows, each one pointing to a different room. The only one that had importance was then one that read, "Main Lobby".

Aunalee headed down the corridor, the water still hitting her boots but soon it stopped. She found herself back in the main lobby standing behind the front desk and Merida this time. "Excuse me, Merida." Aunalee said walking around to the front of the desk. "I would like to sign up for any classes in herbalism and Medicine. Anything's fine." Aunalee asked and stood there smiling, a bit too happy.

Add Another to the Ranks

Merida looked up, recognizing the voice from before, and shuffled through a few papers. "Yes...we have a few openings I believe." She procured a few pieces of paper and slid them in front of Aunalee, showing sign up sheets for three different classes. One of which was an elevated course on herbs, detailing foreign plants and one's found upon Mura. Another was about the importance of bedside manner and tending with the more difficult patients and symptoms that created paranoia, hallucinations, etc. The last was a more advanced course for simple medicine technique, and required having a singular Gnosis to augment one's healing. "Generally new students want to sign up for one, and then once they've gotten comfortable, choose more. All of them are open though, so take your pick."

A small smile graced Merida's features. "And welcome to the Order."

Additional Notes :
Lovely little thread. I was hoping you would go a bit more into detail as you worked with Micah so I could throw out some more medicine points, but Aunalee did a nice job showing off her people skills, which in some cases I think is just as important. Also, feel free to RP one of those classes in your threads, or make up your own! Either is fine. You will be receiving a PM shortly in regards to your new employment/ status as a student. Congratulations!
