ImageTimestamp: 1st Day Of Summer, 510 AV
Location: Vacant Aerie
Purpose: New Fledgeling - Unbonded - And Seeking
Status: Open

There was a time and place for everything. And on the cusp of Summer, one of the oldest pairs of birds fledged their first chick in ten years. The term chick was loosely defined, of course, because Alwin had long since grown in his full plumage and flight feathers and was roughly the same size as his parents. He was one of their more quiet offspring, prone to thinking rather than acting, which reminded them of Haslin, Valintar Kaden's dead mount. Haslin had been their proudest moment and their strongest offspring. This chick, however, would undoubtably be their last. Coriv's eggs had grown thinner in shell over the years and so her mating flights had been few and far between. It was, truthfully, a miracle Alwin had hatched.

A new fledgling always garnered excitement. And since Alwin was male, the young men of the Wind Reach who were aiming to change castes were scrambling for position. Alwin took his first flight halfway through the middle of spring and made his first kill as the days grew warmer. Time passed, and as he slowly needed his parents less and less, he began hunting out aeries, picking his own home, preparing for the time he would fully fledge and be out on his own.

The time came at dawn, at the very break of summer. He ran his beak along the lines of his mother's... preened his father's feathers, and launched himself into the sky. Fledgeing was a powerful time in an eagle's life. He circled Skyinata screaming his maturity to the world, and dove down, backwinging, until he came to he aerie he'd call his own. He slipped into the cavern, leaving its sunrise drenched lip to investigate inside. His needs now were simple. A human touch, a male's mind to forge a union with, and he wanted lots of choices.

The word spread first among the Dek. It always did. Several groups split off to present themselves for cleaning duty. One never knew when a bird might decide the Dek were good enough and elevate one of them to the status of Endal. And an aerie could never be clean enough. So immediately several took up residence - the meanest of course - for much past two cleaners were a crowd. Others, weaker, would have to sneak in at odd times or when the squatters were not present. Commoners came too... the Cheit. One lad, Hanvin, was thought to be a good candidate. His mother had been a rider and his father a glassworker. Selvia had perished in a hunting accident and her mount was now rebonded. The talk about Wind reach was that Savi would have taken Hanvin had he been female. Nothing could have been more bitter than saying such things. So Hanvin came quietly, moving his things into the aerie which surprised no one. One or two other ones came with him. Scamp, a lower class commoner who was privileged enough to work in the Enclave where no Dek was allowed... and Kakin who was just old enough. There would be others, of course... a whole aerie full. And Alwin would tolerate them all until he made his choice.

Once he did though... that was it. Everyone would be expected to leave... or would be bodily removed by the bird. That was that.

Artisan's were lacking at this event though. At the moment, there was a huge gap in older and younger, with the one or two eligible lads content in the world they already had. Being an Endal had its privileges, but life was short, dangerous, and the responsibilities of Wind Reach weighed heavily on their minds.

Mod NoteAny male is welcome to join and attempt to bond with Alwin. Alwin's personality will be revealed through the course of the thread as will challenges that will be set for the would be young men. Proper WR etiquette dictates you bring your things, introduce yourself to the bird, and simply move in. You be yourself, and try to get to know the bird in order to bond. The other males will go to great lengths to stop you. Your PC must prove hes smart enough, strong enough, and willing to take risks in order to bond with the bird.

[WR - Open Thread] The Eagle Has Landed

Postby Kellan Lucia on June 12th, 2010, 2:28 am

Kellan had heard that there was a new fledgling in his home of Wind Reach. He was finally able to begin his life as an official eagle rider so this new fledgling could not have come at a better time. He was very determined to bond with this eagle. He had heard from his fellow Inarta that its name was Alwin. Kellan knew that if he was really going to try to bond with this eagle (and he planed to) he would have to leave his normal abode behind and move in with the giant bird. He was fully ready to do this though. Since the moment he first saw the magnificent birds when he was a young boy he had wanted to be an eagle rider. He was strong enough to take on this challenge, or so he thought. He had made it to adulthood while his twin brother Toran had not. Still, the early expiration of his brother had nothing to do with whether or not he could get to bond with this eagle. He felt a strong need to though. He wanted to show Emmett, his father that he too could be a great eagle rider. Kellan’s father always wanted one of his children to continue the family’s long history of eagle riders. Since Toran had died all the pressure was now on Kellan’s shoulders. Although, even when Toran was alive Emmett had known that Kellan was going to continue the family trade of flying. Toran was always too weak. He couldn’t keep up with up with the rough lifestyle of young Inarta boys and died in a knife fight in which he had no weapon.

Kellan took one last look at his living space and then gathered up all his things. It was time to go. Kellan looked at the cavern where he had lived for so long and sighed. “Please let this go well.” He whispered to himself Nari. He opened his eyes to see his homeland, Wind Reach. Kellan looked forward and started to walk toward Alwin’s aerie. He looked around at his beautiful city and he finally felt like a part of it. He was taking his first steps toward being an important part of Wind Reach. Of course, if Alwin did not except him, and there was a good chance he wouldn’t, Kellan would have to start all over with a new bird. Still, this did not dishearten him. Kellan was born with a very positive and sunny disposition. As he walked through town he recounted his favorite line of poetry. It was the line that was tattooed on his chest. “No matter what I do today, the sun will still rise.” He said in Nari to himself. It was his own way of reassuring himself that even if his time spent with this amazing bird was for naught life would still go on.

Finally Kellan reached the aerie were Alwin dwelled. He looked at the building in awe. He could feel his heart racing in anticipation. Half of him was scared but mostly he was excited. He walked forward and walked into the aerie. Once he was inside he saw Alwin for the first time. He was in Kellan’s opinion, the most beautiful bird he had ever seen. Kellan walked forward slowly, keeping his eyes on the bird. He could see the great eagle was looking at him too, scrutinizing him and trying to figure him out. Kellan took in a deep breath and looked right into Alwin’s eyes. “I’m Kellan. It is nice to finally meet you Alwin.” He said calmly in Nari. Kellan felt as though everything had been leading to this point and he hoped to the sky which he held to dear to him that it had all been worth it.

[WR - Open Thread] The Eagle Has Landed

Postby Beau on June 12th, 2010, 4:10 am

Beau had just been leaving the kitchens in the early morning when the most amazing, proud, moment of his life struck him full in the face. He had been up late last night talking to his biological mother, who for all of his purposes, was more like a best friend. They had caught up on all the news and gossip that occurred since the last time they met and finally broke company a couple hours after the moon had reached high in the sky. Beau managed, or thought he managed, to sneak back into the apartment without Jacien noticing for four hours sleep; and then he was up again. The first meal of the day had always been a relatively quiet time for him but still amusing, since he and all of his friends stumbled over each other as they were served food and ate together.

The moment of amazement was so fleeting he almost missed it as he passed Jacien comming into the kitchens as he was leaving. "If you were up with me, feeding the raptors, like you should have been you wouldn't have missed Alwin's flight this sun up." Beau just stared at his teacher, all sound fading away, even the people bumping into him didn't seem to exist. Jacien had just given his "Go ahead", he'd just told Beau the boy was ready to try and bond with the eagle. Jacien never told him he was good enough for anything... Someone shook his shoulder. He looked at them but the face didn't register in his brain for his feet were already turning him around and speeding him through the crowd. Such was his haste to get back to his room and pack that anyone not getting out of the way for his thunderous footsteps was nearly bowled over.

Jacien caught up with him again in his room just as Beau was about to leave. "I'll be back to study, I promise. But it's my time now. I am doing this." The older man merely nodded, handing Beau a piece of meat they usually cut smaller chunks from to bait the larger birds. Beau nodded respectfully, and raised his arm for his pet Raven, Mouth, who landed on it dutifully. He spared no time in getting to the Aeries and took all of the shortcuts he knew. For a brief, and completely uncharacteristic moment, his stomach fluttered in a fit of nerves as he climbed the last few stairs to Alwin's roost. He shrugged the unease off just as one would a sore muscle. Despite all of his clever shortcuts he was not among the first hopefuls to arrive. No matter, he would just try harder for Alwin's approval than the rest, in compensation. Mouth was flicked from his wrist as he entered the cavern, alighting marvelously on an unobtrusive niche in the rock face; he silently thanked the raven for behaving properly.

All of his items were dropped just outside of Alwin's aerie, save the meat, and he slowed his approach forward so he wouldn't be standing in line to greet the enormous eagle. He couldn't help passing an eye over the eagle, drawing in all of the little details any good falconer took note of. Given the reported condition of Coriv's eggs lately he was astounded Alwin had turned out so....exact. "Alwin, my name is Beau," Here the teen paused to incline his head slightly, never looking the bird directly in the eyes but neither away from his face, "It is a pleasure to be considered by one from Haslin's line. No doubt you will make a name for yourself as important as others in your family." Again Beau inclined his head, set part of the meat aside for Alwin if he wanted it, and backed away. His things were gathered up and moved into a, as of yet, uncrowded portion of the aerie where he summoned Mouth and fed him a tiny piece of the remaining meat. Only now did he take the opportunity to look around at his competition, giving a friendly enough smile and nod to any who looked his way.

Postby Kellan Lucia on June 12th, 2010, 10:50 am

Kellan saw as a new boy came into the aerie. He knew he would have competition for Alwin but still the sight of the guy made him put off slightly. Kellan was not an unfriendly person though. Even if this guy was going to be competeing against him for the amazing honor of Alwin it did not mean he could not turn this into friendly sport. Some may have viewed this drive for good spirited competition as being childish or in dire need for exceptance but that simply was not the case. Why be enemies with this guy if it could be avoided? They would have to be sharing this aerie while trying to bond with Alwin. Of course, if this guy wanted to make their time with Alwin hostile between them he could happily oblige. Kellan was not the type of person to try and win the friendship of the unwilling. If this guy wanted an enemy he would surely get one.

Kellan walked over to the fellow Inarta and extended a hand "I'm Kellan, I see I have some competition." he said with his boyish smile. Kellan was never really the formal type. He wanted to give off the air that he was not wanting to make an enemy and he hoped that he was acheiving it. "I heard your name is Beau, correct?" he said. "reguardless, I just wanted to let you know that I am ready to make this pleasant or unpleasant. I'm not an easy guy to bother but if you want to make an enemy out of me I will be happy to oblige. Of course on the other hand this can be friendly as well. I'm ready to make it the latter if you want it as well." All of this said in a friendly tone. He did not want to scare the guy, he just wanted to know where he stood with him. He was ready for what ever his competitor was going to asnwer because nothing that anyone could say would keep him out of the sky.

[WR - Open Thread] The Eagle Has Landed

Postby Gossamer on June 13th, 2010, 5:30 am

He knew things. Every day more and more things filled his mind. It was astonishingly like waking up. Alwin had always known, since he'd first broke shell and witnessed his parents and their affection with their riders, that he'd have himself a partner one of these days. But this moment, the incredible sense of power and purpose, was about so much more for him. Coriv, his mother, had tried to tell him, but as with all youth, one just couldn't truly know what something was until they experienced it. His Right to Choose was one such moment. To Alwin, his aerie was full of bright and colorful minds, a few of which he could pick up their thoughts easily and readily. Spending time with the boys and young men wasn't like spending time with his parents' riders. They had hardened minds, well trained and closed off from the bleeding joy and pain of being young. They were settled, bonded, and stable.

These boys were like glitters of sunshine off the surface of the twin lakes, bright and unpredictable. Already, he'd chased one from the aerie. It was a Dek youth with more blood on his hands than common sense in his mind. That was definitely not what Alwin wanted. The eagle preened a pinion and then glanced up as yet another newcomer walked into his aerie. It wasn't as if there were a crowd. Six souls took up almost no room in the recessed multi-chamber cave. Another would not be a problem.

The young eagle hissed a friendly greeting at Kellan as he snapped his beak twice in a very raptorial version of a smile. Then he nodded, and returned the greeting. "Fair winds to you, lad. It is nice to hear your name. Tell me... why would you like to be my rider?" It was the same question he had asked all the other young men. And when Kellan heard it, the resonance was oddly pitched - as if it echoed both in his mind and in fact in the aerie itself. Then Alwin flipped open a wing, and began working on a feather in his primary flight row. Truthfully, nothing was wrong with the feather. He simply wanted to show off the bright crimson of his underwings. It was a lucky color for a Wind Eagle, one that was exceptionally rare since their underwings tended to be a blue or gray, with the occasional yellow or orange.

As he waited for the answer, one of the other boys walked by and smiled. "Alwin, stop showing off your feathers. The whole Mountain knows your red underneath." It was Scamp, the Enclave copyist who gently chastised the bird with a laugh. Alwin snapped his wing closed, had the graciousness to look sheepish, and then chuckled. "I itched. If you boys were doing your job, you'd be over here peeling off sheaths and helping me preen." He retorted, good naturedly at the other lad, all the while still listening for Kellan's answer.

He hadn't been sure whether he liked Kellan staring him in the eyes or not. It was unnerving to be stared at. Raptors tilted their heads, glancing all over at once. Humans, with their strange eyes facing forward, often unnerved them when they were young.

When Beau walked in, Alwin was still busy conversing with the others. He paused though, as was polite, and let the newcomer make his way through the crowd. When Beau made the introduction, Alwin inclined his own head deeply. "Thank you for honoring Haslin's memory by mentioning his name. My line is very proud of him. And even from the nest I heard of his life story." The fledgeling said gently, looking interested. "It is good of you to join us, Beau. Will you tell me more of you... all of us for that matter... and why you want to be a rider?" The eagle asked, his voice and tone full of thoughtfulness.

Sneaking a peek to see where Scamp might be, Alwin unfurled his wings, fluffed to flash the red, and settled back in again to hear both boys answers.

[WR - Open Thread] The Eagle Has Landed

Postby Beau on June 13th, 2010, 6:52 pm

Beau reached for Kellan's hand after shooing his raven away abit, and storing the slice of meat it was trying to liberate from him. Just as he clasped the other boy's wrist he heard Alwin and it sent his head spinning. To actually hear the eagle speak, in his own mind no less, was something he truly hadn't been prepared to experience despite all the things his uncle had told him. Then again he doubted anything he could have done before hand could have made him ready for the contact; it was almost other worldly. He looked at Kellan with an enourmous smile plastered on his face, knowing that even if it wasn't his first time hearing an eagle the lad would understand what Beau felt like.

"An amiable rivalry, I suspect, Kellan. Every free man in Wind Reach wants this chance, and I think you and I are willing to do what we can to see this through. Still, it's not a reason to be unfriendly about it right?" He gave another small assuring nod and turned to Alwin just in time to see him spread his wings, giving another glimpse of crimson feathers. The closest he'd ever seen to that color was in the tail feathers of one or two hawks but even then it wasn't nearly as true as Alwins. He didn't blame the eagle for slyly showing off like he did, inwardly smirking a bit.

"I've always felt that being a Rider was what I should do with my life. Putting it into words though...is like carving a statue from stone. The artist might have a general idea of what he wants the carving to look like, but the meaning of it is clearer the closer he is to finishing the piece." Beau went quiet for a moment while he tried to find the right words for his feelings. "Falconry is a gift, and I'm happy to be able to work with the birds. It is an art that shouldn't be lost or taken lightly, but, I'm not helping. Wind Reach is my home. I can't do anything for my home where I am now, and the Wind Eagles with their riders are one of our greatest sources of help. That's my reason for being here."

Barely half a minute had gone by before Beau looked up at his rivals and chortled. "Of course I could always help incite a party, and uncork a wine keg." The image was such a source of amusement for the boy he gave himself a stitch laughing. The fact that the comment might have been crass or rude didn't seem to cross his mind. But such was Beau, always laughing, always smiling, always happy and without conscious of how it sounded; but prone to stunning moments of clarity and insight.

When Alwin's words resonated in Kellan's mind it was nothing like he imagined it would be. It was so different than say, talking to his parents, or even his competetor Beau. He knew he would have to give a good reason to Alwin about why he was worthy of his time. Kellan watched as Alwin lifted his wing to preen his feathers. As Alwin lifted his wing Kellan was overtaken by awe. Alwin's feathers were crimsion which was uncommon for wind eagles. Kellan felt his heart racing. He was not aways so good with words. He remembered back when he and Toran were young. Toran would come to him in tears everyday because the other boys picked on him. Kellan of course felt for his twin but when he tried to comfort him the words came out all wrong. He had wanted to tell Toran that the other boys were wrong for teasing him but what came out was "I'm sure they are just frusterated with you because you don't work very hard". That was of course the wrong thing to say but Kellan was significantly younger at the time. He remembered Toran running off in tears after that. Kellan was really all Toran had. All the other Inarta kids hated Toran because he was so lazy and scrawny. In some ways he looked up to Kellan because he always had friends and was very popular among the Inarta youth. Toran was gone now so everything was up to Kellan. He had to do this for Toran, for his family, but most of all himself.

He looked at Alwin "I want to be your rider because since I first saw my father's mount I have wanted to fly. It is just a feeling of habitat I guess. Just like you love to fly through the sky I would like the same feeling. I see the birds and the eagle riders flying in the sky and my heart starts to race you know? I just get this feeling like I need to be flying or I will go crazy. I've been waiting for eighteen years for the chance to fly through our beautiful skies and I sincerly hope you will give me that chance because I could be honored. Honored because I am helping our wonderful city but most of all because I would get this amazing chance to do what most people can only dream of. I will get to fly." Kellan felt more and more passion as his words formed. He was speaking from his heart and it seemed that when he spoke from his heart things went a lot better.

Kellan then listened to Beau's answer. He seemed to want it just as much as Kellan did although he liked to think that he wanted it more than Beau. Anyone would think that though. We all like to think our will is strongest even if it isn't. Kellan was pleased to know that Beau was light hearted like him.

Alwin didn't take Beau's comment as rude at all. The eagle gave a birdlike twitter of mirth. "I'm glad you are not all serious, Beau. Life is too short to take everything seriously. You sound like some of the other fledglings just about to join me. Talinath is a great deal full of self importance. I think its because he has blank undertones to his wings. He claims that foreshadows leadership. I think it foreshadows dullness, personally." The eagle said, snapping his beak disapprovingly and glancing around. "Since I first broke shell, I wasn't too happy unless everyone around me was happy as well - especially the humans. All my parents did was fuss over me and stuff me full of food. Eating is great, but there's more to life than eating, don't you think? Flying, for one.." Alwin said, snapping his wings open and showing off the crimson again. He dipped his shoulder at Kellan, and gave him a very inviting look.

"Well, if all you want to do is fly, lets go take a wing around the volcano and see if you have any tendencies to embarrass yourself. I want a rider that will share my joy." The eagle said, inviting Kellan to mount and fly. As soon as he did, the eagle would throw himself off the ledge, rider hopefully safely gripping his feathers, and take Kellan for a tour of the rim.

Hanvin, meanwhile, edged up to Beau and offered him a smile. "Don't worry. He's taken us all for a test ride so far at various times. If you'd have told him you wanted to fly, he'd have taken you first I think. I bet he'll invite you when they both get back. He's a little different personality wise though. It's like hes carefree and doesn't have the responsibility of the other birds. I worry a bit if him and I wouldn't be a bad fit. I feel like you do, Beau.. its our responsibility to ride. Right? And yet, all he wants us to do is tap this keg and get this party started so we're all warmed up when he gets back." Hanvin looked a little uncomfortable at that, as if he wondered what he was doing here. "Exceptional bloodlines or no, one would think he'd be a bit more serious...."

[WR - Closed Thread] The Eagle Has Landed

Postby Beau on June 30th, 2010, 6:07 pm

Beau actually smiled as he watched Kellan climb onto Alwin, imagining what it would feel like to do such a thing himself. He took several steps forward to better watch the pair leap out into the open sky and soar away. The eagles had to be part magic, they had to be, no other bird held his fascination quite like the Wind Eagles. Smaller raptors were amazing in their own right, and it was as if he could almost understand what was going on in their heads in a more personal way at times, but the eagles were on a different plane entirely. So, amazingly, when Kellan was airborne Beau didn't find himself jealous of his rival. Not for going, and not for being asked to go first. It was a decision Alwin made and that made it final in his mind.

But more than that he was envious of Kellan. Especially after hearing part of his past, growing up with an Endal father must have been great. True his uncle had been an Endal, but he only visited when there was nothing else for him to do which was maybe once every few months. The information Kellan must have been privy to would have Beau lopping off an arm just to take a peak at. The boy was also out there, in the air, soaring above the ground. On an eagle no less. He was also envious of Alwin who could just spread his wings and fly away for a time when land life bored him, or to forget his troubles. Flying must be an awesome sensation.

A voice next to him snapped him out of his thoughts and he glanced sideways to see Hanvin. "He's a bird Hanvin, birds are allowed to have their own personalities. They don't listen to us, they just agree to deal with us sometimes." Finally Beau tore his eyes away from Alwin and Kellan as they disappeared from sight, and set them on Hanvin with a kind smile. "Sometimes levity is the best way to alleviate stress and the pressure of responsibility. That and wine, we don't have wine up here do we? Alwin's right though. Life is short, and if your an Endal it's even shorter. The best you can do is try to make sure the eagle stays alive and have fun while your doing it. Otherwise your brows will be stuck in a frown when they chuck you into the mountain."

Beau turned away long enough to send his Raven flying out of the cavern. "It's our responsibility as part of our people to help. To ride though, to fly, is a privilege we may or may not be given. I would die honored if I was somehow able to ride that raven. If you think about what people expect you to do you'll never do what you have to do. Don't think about it Hanvin. Do what your heart says, and don't question yourself." Beau turned and started to walk back to his pile of things. "If your unsure, and you worry, you won't make Endal."

[WR - Closed Thread] The Eagle Has Landed

Postby Kellan Lucia on July 2nd, 2010, 3:10 pm

When Alwin said that Kellan could go for a ride he could have sworn his heart stopped beating. The dream he had pined over his whole life was about to come true. He would finally be in the sky flying on an eagle. "That would be amazing." were the only words he could muster. He looked over at Beau. He was happy that he could fly first but he knew that Beau really wanted to also. He could tell Beau wasn't too upset though. He gave is rival on last look and then headed over to Alwin.

When he was finally ready to fly Kellan's heart was beating so fast that he thought it was going to fall out of his chest. It wasn't really because he was scared. He was a little bit scared but it was completely overpowered by the overwhelming excitment he was feeling. He could not believe any of this was happening. If he wasn't there on Alwin's back looking down the cliff he wouldn't have believed it. He closed his eyes and breathed in the chilly breeze. "I'm ready, let's fly."[b] he said. He felt Alwin jump from the ledge and Kellan felt every cell in his body alive with excitement. He clutched to Alwin's feathers but he knew he could trust this bird. He could feel it with his whole body. They would get back safe and he wasn't scared to be flying through the Wind Reach sky.

Kellan felt Alwin spread his wings and the flight instantly got smoother. It was like gliding over ice. It was so amazing. Kellan could see everything from Alwin's back. He looked out to the horizon to see the lands that were farther than Wind Reach. He had never left Wind Reach in the whole eighteen years he had been alive. It was breath taking but Kellan felt like he could not breathe. [b]"This is the first time I have seen anything past Wind Reach. I'm quite a shut in aren't I?"
he said jokingly. He had always thought that Wind Reach was so big but now that he saw his home in comparison to the rest of the world it looked so small. "Can we fly over the twin lakes? I want to see if anyone is training today." he asked. Really Kellan wanted someone to see him flying, especially Amon. He really looked up to him.

Kellan felt as Alwin changed his corse to the Twin Lakes. The wind rushed through his shaggy red hair making the few beads he had braided into it tinkle in the breeze. He felt the wind in every part of him. He felt like he and the rushing winds were one. He felt it blowing through his half buttoned up shirt and rushing against his bare chest. He felt his pants buffet against his legs. He could not imagine any other place he would rather be.

When they reached the Twin Lakes Alwin dipped down so they were flying over the bodies of water. He saw a few people bathing and others practicing archery. He saw as they looked up to see him flying. He clutched to Alwin's feathers. He was so happy he was born Inarta. He felt so alive flying through the skies on Alwin. Only Inarta could do this and he was so happy that he was one of the lucky people with chance to fly with the amazing birds.

As they were heading back to the aeries Kellan spotted a cloud. "Uh, Alwin. I know this sounds childish but can we fly by that cloud so I can touch it? When I was little I always saw the clouds and I wanted to touch them. My mom always told me that they wouldn't be that amazing to touch but still I wanted to feel how it felt you know?" he said. He was a little embarassed of his childish request but he really wanted to do it. Alwin flew by the cloud and Kellan stuck his hand out. The cloud was cold on his hand and when he pulled it out it was covered in water. Granted it wasn't everything his mind made it out to be when he was a child. Still, it was an interesting experience. "Thank you Alwin. I know it is silly but I've wanted to do that my whole life." he said with a chuckle. He wiped his hand off on his pant leg and then held on to Alwin. "Okay, let's head home." he said with a smile. Kellan watched as Alwin adjusted his wings and headed for the aeries. As they were nearing the aeries Kellan looked at Alwin. "This has been so amazing Alwin. I don't think I have felt so alive in my entire life. Thank you so much. I really hope you choose me to bond with. I would be extremely honored to fly with you as my mount and my friend. I know I seem silly and childish sometimes but I assure you, I am very serious about flying. Although, just because I am serious it doesn't mean we can't have fun does it." he said with a smile.

When Alwin and Kellan arrived at the aeries Kellan instantly wanted to be back in the sky. He climbed off Alwin and moved his hand across his feathers. "Thank you again Alwin. I hope we can fly again togather sometime soon." he said.

Kellan walked over to Beau and placed his hand on his shoulder. "It's your turn brother. Get ready for the ride of your life." he said with a golden eyes shining. Flying with Alwin would not be an experience Kellan would forget anytime soon.

[OOC: I'm so sorry that took so long. I wanted to perfect it and I was also having computer troubles. This whole thing was typed on my itouch XD]
Daylight again, following me to bed
I think about a hundred years ago, how my fathers bled
I think I see a valley, covered with bones in blue
All the brave soldiers that cannot get older been asking after you
Hear the past a calling, from Valterian's side
When everyone's talking and no one is listening, how can we decide?
