Character Concept Vanir is a drudge, a casteless, unskilled, man who is doomed to serve. Vanir keeps repeating a lie, thinking that being a drudge is really just serving his people, he soon began to believe this so he didn't try and kill himself. Happiness is hard to see in him, Inartas of different castes get to experience many different thrills and adventures, as a drudge Vanir never did get a chance to experience these joys.
Vanir cannot really be considered any where on a moral scale. Choice is something he hasn't had in a very, very long time. When someone asks a Drudge to do something, they do it. There is really no way to tell what he would do in a situation where he would have to do something either good or evil. He sometime hopes nothing like that would ever happen to him, he doesn't know if he could make a decision like that.
Vanir has heard of drudges who have moved up a caste by marriage. Vanir considers this just rumors, who would marry a drudge and not someone from a caste? Obviously, he has never experienced anything related to love. Maybe if he ever did fall in love this would change. He knows nothing of relationships, if he ever did fall in love he would be a fool. No one has ever cared for him in that way, and neither has he cared for someone that way.
I would be a liar if I did not say the idea of crime had came to Vanir's mind. But he has heard of Dek who resorted to crime, their punishment came swiftly. And part of Vanir can not hurt a fellow Inarta, you could consider this an act of good but he considers it to just be loyal to his race. Still, the idea of resorting to Crime is in Vanir's mind, and maybe someday, if he gets desperate, he may be a criminal. |
