Appearance Pre-91st Winter 512AV Pale man hid behind curtains of vibrant, red hair. Light brows, gently framing the form of his face and deep set, dark green eyes. His eye sight is perfect; and for that he curses nature, as he will never be truly able to wear glasses. A quality which he thinks would bring his face more maturity than it already has. He has hollow cheekbones and a perky nose which gives him a perfected profile. Semi-full, pale lips which look as if they may belong to a beautiful woman. A strong jaw line. He's a very slender man, tall and graceful with every step.

Personality There's a reason he's known as the Red Haired artist. For art had been, is and always will be at the very core of his being. A man who has been enticed by it longer than he dares to remember, passionately in love, craving. He sees it as more than just a discipline. For him it's a surreal sort of power that a small man may wield in this vast world. A creation, an escapism. So great is his determination, so wild his passion that, no matter what the circumstance, no matter what terrible events had taken place in his life, he is always able to almost completely disassociate himself and take refuge within the pages of his sketchbooks.
There are two faces to Valo. A face seen by the world. The kind, red haired gentleman of profound grace and the wit to match. A warm, smiling face. A loving friend, a romantic lover. The other face, the real face beneath that meticulousness crafted exterior, is one which even he isn't quite aware of. A certain detachment from reality, the nature of a man who is little more than a terrible judge of character. For Valo is indeed a good man, a kind man, a gentleman, but only to a certain point. He is however a coward in pretty packaging. A fool. Overly emotional, passionate but fleeting, loving but cruel, kind but arrogant. He is proud, he is vain and a hypocrite. He is reckless and by far, Valo is a coward. However the things he fears are a peculiarity and he does have the ability to overcome his fear if need be. So reluctant he is to acknowledge that he merely plays the part of a gentleman, that he simply convinced himself he lacks that second nature. A man not good nor really evil, just lost. Existing in the rebuttal of oneself.
perhaps one of the most prominent things about Valo is the way he carries himself. perfect posture, back straight, chin hight, a fluid grace to every motion. A never fading calm smile of utmost warmth with which he regards all. A profound pleasantness about him. Indeed he is very skilled with his self composure, often subduing elaborate outbursts of emotion from his feature. His eyes however are his greatest weakness. Eyes which are perhaps the window to his soul, ever animated. It is when a person learns to decipher the language of those eyes that they can truly say they know Valo.
Having been granted a second chance, Valo is tremendously religious, up to the point of near fanaticism. He truly serves one god; Uldr, who's will is law and he fallows that law without question. Indeed there are other people on Mizahar he too fails to question. In a strange sense, Valo is a rather subdued and withdrawn individual, calm and obedient. Never was he made for any leadership position. He does however make the perfect minion. And in this love, this reverence of Uldr, the artist is able to do almost anything which he'd never dream himself doing. Truly Valo was suspended in the relentless belief that he'd never be able to kill another. What he did not realise is that this brutal act will be easier than estimated and easier sill with each time committed.
Sometimes guided by his religious fanaticism, others by own cowardice, there are however times when the entirety of Valo's character dissolves and is overcome by another. A primal instinct of his. The first of those times if when art is in question. The other, in the face of obtaining knowledge. If there is a word to truly describe the artist, it's curious. Profoundly curious, to the point where his entire self composition, his calm exterior brakes down to reveal a starved dog jumping at bones. He'd never admit it to himself, but he is able to go to great lengths to obtain something truly worth knowing.
Valo has a certain need to live. Perhaps it is though cowardice, or perhaps truly he had evolved beyond that simply unquestioned existence which he sees within anyone and anything. He has goals: to serve Uldr, to become a famed and revered artist, to seek and achieve the knowledge of magic. They are strong driving forces indeed. But above it all, he seeks freedom and power from simple humanity. Valo is, in many meanings of the word, living even in his state of unlife.
