Thayer is not only a troubled girl, but her heart aches of the things she wishes wouldn't happen... To heal, she needs love, trust and comfort, but her mind is set on the idealism that none of the kind type are still in existence.... Thayer "Curiosity killed the cat, yet I am still alive." Thayer "Thistle" Oniyo Kelvic (Lynx) Female 2 Years Old (Appears 15) Born on the 14th of Winter, 511AV Fluent • Common Conversational • Snake-tongue _____________________________________________________________ Appearance With naturally straightened black hair, that’s thinned out due to the constancy of brushing, Thayer’s appearance is always a contrast. Her stark, light blue, crystallised eyes seem to seek out your deepest secrets. Her fairly pale skin makes her hair colour an obvious clash of contrast, having her seem more in sync with the Semenestras than she really is. Her eyebrows are thin, clean blackened lines that are usually covered up by her bangs that lay flat against her fair toned face. Her petite stature comes in handy when under stress and in trouble, but being short has its flaws when she is at the low end of height in her family of Kelvic race, standing at 5‘3 and weighing in at around 112 pounds. The high cheekbones that were inherited from her mother have her seem fierce and independent, but in reality she is quite a shy and curious girl. A small, button nose that lures in many people of all races and sexes is the key feature to her facial additions. Her lips are pallid yet pale pink that radiate off secrecy. These lips let go of words that seem to be raspy and cold. Thayer has a deep voice that can be harsh at times, but is mainly just emotionless and strong. Many different assumptions can be made about the true meaning of her speech and the heavy words that leave through her lips in course, feint waves of seriousness, but many of those assumptions are made inaccurately. She has long eyelashes that she usually plasters eye-shodow and mascara onto, yet she need not seeing as how they are naturally dark already. Her ears are abnormally small, inherited from her mother as well, but it is safe to say that those miniscule hearing tools can actually hear better than they should. She has learned to open up her ears and listen to her surroundings and this skill has come in handy on many occasions. Straightened white teeth and a beautiful smile, which she rarely uses, Thayer is a role model to all those who wonder about whether they are beautiful or not. Her animal form is slightly smaller in terms of height, but in weight, slightly heavier. The lynx is a mix of grey and black, with a piercing stare of ice, cold blue eyes. Her ears are pointy with tufts of fur, her body barely speckled with black and light grey splotches. Thayer's animalistic form has big paws for easy climbing and mountaineering on unsteady slopes. Her ears are useful in picking up far away noises and voices. Her nose is small, the whiskers long, but this facial part can smell very well. Her tail is in the middle of a stub and a medium stocky, but most of the time it is kept untrimmed or groomed having making it harder to tell. Thayer's fangs are sharp and aligned with healthy gums and enamel. Her body is toned and slender and helps her in agility and offensive situations. She can use her lynx form for difficult situations involving the need for intimidation and self defence although she tries to refrain from doing so. ________________________________________________________________ Personality Thayer can be a very angry person who tends to hold back all of her emotions. She tends to bottle up her anger about her past and put it aside until she is alone and lets it release itself in a fit of tears. Usually this emotion is drowned out by the very strong trait of her shyness, however. Thayer is quite a shy individual who doesn’t like to be surrounded by unfamiliarity, and who has been taught to only speak the most important things when it is the right time to speak. A curious one, Thayer is also partially wise in decision making and is protective of both herself and the ones she so dearly loves. She is fairly unique with her raven-black hair and ocean blue eyes, but she likes to be with people as long as they don’t take her off the vexation ledge. She has grown up all her life to be the perfect young lady- to be polite, to be precise, to be happy, beautiful and confident, but she has trouble with her interests and personality. She finds herself interested in darker things and the exact opposite of the things she was always being taught since a major devastation that has occurred in the most recent time in her life. She is abnormally calm and polite, for she holds in all her built up feelings and emotions and has trained herself to think that being herself is all that matters, and no one else’s opinions can pull her down. The big thing that troubles Thayer is the thought of having to attend an arranged marriage to whom she does not love. But with the thought of her father hardly around, she doesn't have much to worry about being pressure into marring a mate at such a young age. Her favourite colours are deep blues, dark greys and the sullen black. She loves to explore and sometimes loses her untrained sense of direction. Usually she carries around with her 10 sticks of black charcoal, to which she uses as markers to mark nearby trees so she will know whether or not she has been in that designated area or not. Thayer absolutely loves nature and all the animals in it, whether they are of Kelvic race or not. Sometimes she investigates things a bit too often to where she is put into danger or in unfamiliar surroundings, to where her brother comes in to portray her saviour. Above all, Thayer is a messed up, mixed emotional, unique, shy, sad girl who wishes nothing more than to know the truth about what her life is meant for. Before the disaster in her life, Thayer was the very friendly type who was always the perfect child. She wouldn’t stray too far from home, she was always respectful of her elders and parents, she would be polite and would do her chores when she was told. As she grew older, she started to lose these tactics however. Going through the age of maturity, she began to feel as though she was being protected from the outside world. She would catch herself in dangerous situations that would result in punishments by her parents. Usually she would try to straighter herself upright, due to the constant training she had when she was of younger age. She always had a hard time making friends and keeping them once she’d made them, so Thayer's life went by in a very lonely, slow, perfect natured way. After the disaster struck, Thayer’s happy-go-lucky, curious personality and outlook on life dissolved. She soon lost all hope in life and found everything pointless. Most of this was a result of depression from the loss of her mother. She would become short tempered with people around her and she would always say very little. She wouldn’t eat as much as she used to and she would always like herself to be alone. Her comebacks became more clever and she would always somehow get the last laugh, and let disappointment come over her when she realised what bad she had done. Darkness consumed her very slowly until she liked danger and betraying her brother’s orders. She still is now, but slowly becoming less angry and instead, more sad. She believes that without the happiness from your friends and family, that life is pointless and a waste of your time. As of mid spring, 513 AV, Thayer has found her long lost friend, whom she thought she would never see again. After this discovering Thayer’s outlook on life and personality has uplifted a little. She is happier now that she knows she is not alone in realising her parents death, and she finds comfort in talking to someone other than her own brother. ________________________________________________________________ Likes & Dislikes Thayer seems to dislike immaturity, gossip, liars, unfamiliarity, misunderstanding people, following orders she does not like, being completely alone, complete darkness and onions and potatoes. Thayer seems to like maple leaves, the smell of cinnamon, the crackle of lightning and the sound of thunder, a candle's flame, the stars in a clear's night sky, fireflies, the sound of rain, sunsets and moon rises, Chrysanthemums, a flute's song, running with the wind, using her imagination and faerie tales and old folk lore stories. ________________________________________________________________ History Thayer was born into a rich, independent family. She had a beautiful mother who was of perfect age to have a child much like Thayer. She also had an amazing father who was always comforting in the most troubling times. Her older brother, named Toril, was overly gentle with her and seemed to care for her even more than both her father and mother. The rich factor of Thayer’s childhood only lasted for so long however. All the normalcy of her younger years were about to crumble to pieces. Thayer’s early toddler years were spent learning rules and perfecting the policy of good attitude and mannerism. This was the year she received the nickname of Thistle, for being always so determined, hard headed and persistant in anything and everything she would do. She would always try again and again, making it through even the hardest of situations. Still today, she is called Thistle, but mainly by her elder brother, even though she hates it, because her mother was the one who gave her that nickname. Every morning she was told to go out and do resourceful things, like drawing inspiring pictures of the nature or by making music with mother earth’s utensils. As the time went on, she was taught how to handle multiple housing chores. Cleaning started at age four and at the age of five, she started helping her mother prepare food. At age six, she was shown the ropes of harvesting fruits and vegetables out in the wilderness. But the discipline only just started now. Thayer’s older childhood years from around six to twelve years of age was spent learning how to iron clothing, prepare food without help, laundry, growing and harvesting her own plants as well as learning the truth about the earth and the atmosphere. Her father would allow her free time by which would be spent telling folk lore or faerie tales. Thayer’s father would also take her out most nights and show her the sky’s beautiful sparkles of shimmering light. He called these dots in the blackness up above stars. She would learn her native language, her animal tongue accompanied by little of the Dhani’s snake-tongue, for Thayer always had been intrigued by the delicacy of the snake people. One day she was out drying some laundry when a large snake slithered by. Almost instantaneously, Thayer's curiosity sent her towards it. She was very young and had no realisation what dangers this creature could have. But as if by chance, this Dhani was a lone wanderer with peaceful notions. Thayer and the Dhani became friends and they started using snake-tongue as their secret language among the forest up until Thayer's Dhani friend had to leave and continue on her journey. Things started to get quite interesting from then on. Thayer’s perfect life was invaded by the chaos of an invasion. She was only near the appearance of thirteen years old. She had learnt how to hunt from her father’s lessons by now; sometimes for days on end they would be out hunting wild game in both human and animal form. ‘I’d taught your brother, and now I’ll teach you,’ he had told her. But then the perfect simplicity of their family was changed by the invasion of larger, carnivorous creatures- harmful creatures that posed a threat to all the families in the area. The neighbourhood of forest residenced, including many other Kelvics, had been separated whilst fleeing from the trouble that had been exposed to them. The arranged marriage that would become Thayer’s future, the perfect, happy family, the rich money factor and the relationships in her life had suddenly ended on a sour note, especially right after the disappearance of her mother. Thayer’s fourteenth birthday was spent travelling in tightly knit pack of no more than ten other mammals. Her close friend Enyo Cotah, a small robin boy, was the only one who had remembered to wish her a happy birthday. After what felt like ages, did few of the remaining group find a nice place to stay in Zeltiva. Thayer’s brother Toril took up the responsibility as guardian of Thayer, whilst his father went out in search of other survivors, food and better land. The relationship between Thayer and her brother turned into an icy feud of stern words and harsh silence. Thayer’s father would leave in the early mornings on the days he was home and would return home in the late hours of the night, not always the next day, but sometimes weeks in advance, tired, hungry and frustrated. He would spend the next day sleeping and then set out again as his usual routine until he would come home with a refugee and some lunch or dinner. Soon he stopped coming all together. Thayer vowed to never speak her mind as much as she used to when she was younger since the “death” of her mother. She bottles up all her emotions, thoughts and feelings inside, and doesn’t let anyone see her weakness eating away at her from the inside out. No one knows exactly what happened to Thayer’s mother, and sometimes Thayer has trouble remembering the exact truth as well. You’d have to get to know her, you’d have to secretly pry into her heart to let her speak her tears and tell her tale. |
