Far below the water's surface is the living coralline city of the Charodae, Charbosi. Inaccessible to those who cannot breathe underwater, Charbosi is a city of culture and peace. [Lore]

At the age of 10, Luradin was only just starting to experience his more controversial views on the world, wanting to explore and understand why he dislikes the stories of the people dwelling on the island above him, he started to learn of their history and think they should be prouder people. His parents had noticed him being less interested in the Charoda way of life and had spoken to him about it, he'd been stubborn towards it but today he awoke with the vow that he would put as much effort into learning at least one of their ways over the next few days - Coral manipulation.
In School that day they had furthered their lessons into Coral manipulation and although it was unusual for Luradin to show interest in any skills besides the physical he found shaping Coral to be fascinating. As he left school he avoided the ways to his house and swam over towards the main reef of coral, about to begin his manipulation of it for training to embrace his future, he noticed something. Turning to his right, he gazed down to a tiny growth of coral that had chosen to separate itself from the main part and he swam over to it.
After watching it intently for a several chimes he could not only see it's existence was filled with struggle but he could feel it from the coral, he felt some sort of familiarity as he thought about the coral - it was trying to further the influence of coral and in doing this, the main gathering of the coral had been left behind. He felt that the coral was doing much what he aimed to do in the years to come and relaxed next to it.
Cupping his hands around the coral, he began to concentrate intently on it - feeling the life energy inside of it, flowing from it's very base to the tiny tips of the calcium structure. Luradin almost joined the coral he was focusing so intently on how it was growing, feeding it - when it sighed under the struggle luradins breath left him and he felt like he was helping lift it's burden. After some time the coral had grown an amount noticeable and Luradin would usually have been thrilled to see this but was in concentration too deep for the thought to cross his mind.
The passage of time faded away for Luradin as he intently focused on the little structure, he could not shape it as his elders could but he poured every fiber of his being into helping it grow. The coral continued to lift it's limbs triumphantly into the inky water surrounding it having found a powerful ally to aid it, as it did Luradin smiled. Achievement and willpower kept Luradin from noticing the ache not only in his arms but in his chest, this intense ache continued to buzz in Luradin's nerves and his furrowed his brow in defiance to the gripping pain.
As Luradin's help slowly drifted away from the coral, the life force within it told Luradin that it was capable now - it almost thanked him. it was for this reason Luradin did not regret his actions, even as he effectively collapsed from exhaustion.
When he had awoken a bell later, he eased himself onto his elbows and looked at the Coral he'd helped in-front of him, Luradin observed from the light he had spent just a little over an hour tending to the plant and even in his exhausted state managed to grin at his accomplishment. Luradin could now notice his work on the plant, even though he had helped it only climb an very rough inch - it had apparently been the helping hand it had needed |

Spring 22nd 504 AV
The day after what Luradin saw as a great triumph in the way of Coral manipulation was almost a repeat of the first. Rising early in the morning for school, Luradin was still subtly happy about his experience and this was pleasing for his parents who waved him off to school. Luradin did not pay much attention in a lot of his classes that day, his mind fixed on the memory of the Coral moving with him, both companion and servant - thought Luradin wasn't fussed about the latter.
In the Coral manipulation class, he was gripped for the entire span of the lesson - watching the teacher's mouth move like some strange fixated animal in the hope of furthering his knowledge on a subject he had found just as fun as his practical experiences.
Leaving school was a rushed time for Luradin, whom swam past everyone in the equivalent of a run on land - speeding off towards the coral reef and not to his house, again.
Upon seeing the coral and it's development on it's own, Luradin slowed down to a gentle pace - it felt like greeting an old friend as he made his way over to the coral. Relaxing next to it much like he had done the first day, he reached out to the coral and felt it's response to his presence, he felt the life force of the plant not only pay attention to his gestures but almost flow towards them like an attraction. With this, Luradin began his growth of the plant again.
As he became more involved with the workings of the corals Djed his eyes slowly closed, will poured forth as some sort of magical resource to be used to grow the calcium structure before him, and his fingers moved slightly in the water feeling almost like string attached them to the coral structure.
Like it had been the previous day, ticks faded into chimes and chimes faded into bells, if there had been a recollection of the time spent there one could most likely make a small band. Every second felt mentally stimulating for Luradin and he almost wished he wouldn't improve and it would always be this taxing on him to complete the manipulation.
Luradin was deeply concentrating but could still manage a thought, the name Manipulation was against how he saw this coral that he almost communicated with - it was a friend, he helped it and it thanked him for it much like another of his race would respond if he helped them.
The familiar pain in his arms had been there for a little while now, thought Luradin still poured himself into his tending of the coral - it grew where he lingered and thought the amount was not noticeable without extreme attention to the shape, he could feel it's progress and it made him happy. This time as he began to lose his control over it's growth, the coral was almost saddened by him leaving - he felt it's Djed calm and begin flowing normally, he felt like he was being waved off as he slowly detached himself from the coral's roots and it's mind he collected his strength for a small time and then left for home - almost enlightened by his time spent with the creatures. |
