Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

25th day of Spring, 513 av

It was a pleasantly sunny and beautiful day in the city of Riverfall, a prefect day to practice painting. After doing his regular morning exercises and eating his regular morning meal, Nivrexis grabbed his painting kit and set out to hopefully make beautiful works of art. The Knirin Gardens were a short distance from his home of the Kuahala Estates and had been a location that Nivrexis had been wanting to paint in for a while. The immaculate display of flowers and tranquil scenery of the Gardens would be a perfect place for Nivrexis to get the inspiration he needed for the creation of art.

The Turquoise Akalak entered the park and searched for the perfect place to start painting, Nivrexis made sure to find a place fairly free of the moisture from the falls so as not to affect his painting. He found a small gazebo in a fairly quiet area and sat on one of the benches available. Nivrexis carfully assembled his paints thinking of the colours that he would need to use. Green was a colour that was present in most things in the area and also happened to be Nivrexis's favourite colour. This was apparent in how the Akalak dressed himself, wearing an outfit almost completely comprised of green. With the weather being as nice as it was he wore a loose lime green sleeveless shirt and some simple forest green pants.

Nivrexis did a quick sketch of the landscape but found the layout unsatisfying. He needed a living subject to make his painting more interesting. The Akalak was about to find one of his fellow Akalak brothers when suddenly a six armed women with shinning gilded skin caught Nivrexis eye. Nivrexis had never seen an Eypharian before and he felt inspired by her unique physiology
"excuse me! miss..excuse me miss...would you mind modelling for me?" Nivrexis called out to the women.

Painting 101 (The Knirin Gardens) Roslia

Every seven days, Red Diamond Fashions closed for the day, giving Rosela enough time to catch up on inventory and balance the books. It was one such day, but after spending the morning designing, sewing, and bickering with the shadows, she’d managed to catch up enough to justify an afternoon off. The shadow under the front desk had a few choice words on her lassitude, but she’d merely blown the immaterial creature a kiss as she breezed out the door. It was wonderfully sunny outside with the city still just a bit damp from the recent rains, and she strode confidently through the puddles. Before coming to Riverfall, she’d never considered boots a particularly fashionable choice, but she’d learned over the hard winter and thus-far wet spring to love them. The white cotton dress and red belt ensemble she’d made earlier in the season was getting to be just perfect for the weather, though the occasional breeze chased goosebumps over her arms.

She hadn’t been back to the Knirin Gardens since the fall, after she’d met her first friend in Riverfall there, but it seemed as good a destination as any for the afternoon. Spring was in full swing throughout the park, as the plantlife seemed to suck up every drop of moisture and burst forth in vibrance. A few scattered people wandered, mostly Akalaks and the occasional Konti. Instead of immediately sprawling on a bench to make eyes at passing men, as was her usual pastime, she paused in the open sunlight, tilting her face up to the warmth and pushing two hands into her back to stretch.

"Excuse me! miss..excuse me miss...would you mind modelling for me?"

Rosela’s eyes popped open and she looked around, immediately assuming it was her that was being spoken to. It was indeed, and she saw a seated Akalak on a bench nearby, surrounded by assorted painting paraphernalia.

”Me?” She pointed to herself, as one hand unconsciously brushed back her hair. She’d only been painted once in her life, one long, dull afternoon as a child, for a family portrait. This was a far cry from Eyktol however, and it seemed like an interesting way to spend the afternoon. Who know, maybe her face would end up in the Chevan Art Gallery, and who wouldn’t be happy about that?

”How sweet! I’d love to model for you.” Sliding onto the bench next to him, she crossed her legs and peered at the things he’d set out around him. ”What should I do?”
