Trialing The Opposites

Postby Luradin on April 5th, 2013, 1:24 pm

Luradin's face hardened with concentration as he saw the gorilla rolling towards him. The gorilla stopped a tiny distance away from him and as he grew to full height in front of Luradin he required a steadying breath.

The sweeping arms were combated by Luradin straightening his legs and springing up backwards over the top of the swinging limbs. He landed on his palms and then slid them out from under him to complete his hand-spring away from the creature.

Luradin thought the attack quite obvious and felt uneasy as he felt like he'd just placed himself right into the plan of his massive gorilla opponent.

Raising his hands he moved himself to be side-on to the gorilla and bawled them into tight fists. Even through the intimidating size and strength of the gorilla Luradin managed to keep his breathing paced.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Gruul on April 5th, 2013, 4:02 pm

Gruul instantly knew what had to be done. He span to meet Luradin, extending his arms whilst doing so and using his massive strength to send both of his arms swinging directly for Luradin, mainly in the direction of his head. He grunted as he span himself around, and the moment he swung his arms in that side-way motion, he returned to his usual stance of meditation.

He look in the direction of Luradin for a split second, to see if he had managed to land hit upon him. Either way, he started to plan his next actions depending on what had just happened.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Luradin on April 5th, 2013, 4:28 pm

Luradin sprang up from the ground with ease over the huge limbs of his opponent and brought his knees to his chest. His arms were stretched out to his sides like they belonged in the air, they kept his body upright and stopped his body flailing or rotating.

As he landed his feet instantly were in position to break into a run, his arms fell down and he thrust himself forwards with the swinging motion of them - breaking into a controlled sprint at the creature he was fighting.

Bringing up Luradin fist to thrust it into the creature's higher stomach he simply kicked his feet out from under him and twisted 180 degrees before hitting the floor, placing the balls of his feet to the ground and a hand to steady himself he skidded through the legs of Gruul and was facing him.

Luradin's adrenaline coursed through his frame as he sprang up towards the back of his beastly opponent, his hands up to grip a hold of his neck, shoulders or anywhere on his upper back he could and his legs ready to hold his body up by pressing into his back.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Gruul on April 5th, 2013, 4:51 pm

Gruul stood there, allowing air to escape his lungs as he dropped downwards. Gruul knew that this little fish might be able to pack of punch if need be, the bruise on his arm was evidence of that enough. Allowing the fish to take grip of the neck, upon realising his presence behind him.

The second he felt Luradin grip his neck, the monkey swung his left arm over his shoulder in a attempt to grip the fish, with a simple slapping motion. He then proceeded to kick his hunched feet off the floor and propel himself backwards against a large obelisk that was laid directly behind him, attempting to essentially crush the Fish between the giant oval moss coloured stone and the colossal mammoth of a ape Gruul was.

Regardless, he sent himself backwards in to the rock, and used it as some kind of prop to stop Luradin from getting behind Gruul in the future.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Luradin on April 5th, 2013, 5:03 pm

Luradin gripped a hold of the gorilla's body quite easily, tufts of hair in each hand held him quite strongly to the thing's neck and his legs were coming up to sit on the great shoulders either side of his hands.

Feeling the gorilla throw his body backwards Luradin desperately flung his upper body weight around to swing himself onto the front of Gruul's chest, Luradin's ability to do the splits helped him to build up speed and spin around the neck of his opponent.

Luradin gripped a hold of both sides of his opponents head as he realised the weight of this creature would cause a quake with the ability to knock off his grip if he did not. He simply brought his body inwards and braced himself against the ape's body with his knees pointed into it's chest.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Gruul on April 5th, 2013, 5:19 pm

Gruul smiled, he had Luradin just where he wanted him. Upon connection to the rock, Gruul violently lunged his head forwards towards Luradin in a attempt to weaken his grip, or possibly even head butt him. Regardless, he shook his head, and slammed his hands outwards, so as to far extend the length of Luradin upon his chest. He conjoined his hands together and with a missile like movement, attempted to wrestle Luradin in to a devastating bear hug like grip, attempting to crush the pour fish against the rock hard chest of the built Jamoura.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Luradin on April 5th, 2013, 6:10 pm

Luradin leaned backwards as the head of the gorilla moved towards him, letting himself effectively fall down from his chest into a backwards roll. His feet hit against the gorilla's flesh as the roll ended and he kicked himself free of the massive bear hug he was almost caught in.

Luradin's arms came up to keep his motion steady in the air and he fell to the ground in a crouch to relax the impact of his feet against the floor.

Luradin pulled his Sai up from his waist, spinning the blade in his hands by the hilt to then curl his fingers over the hilt and over the blade, using it as a fist-weapon. Luradin's eyes were fixed on the rock-backed gorilla and he prepared for what he was going to throw at him.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Gruul on April 7th, 2013, 10:06 am

Gruul sat against the stone quite patiently, his hands against the soft soil and his distant gaze set upon the amphibious foe before him. He shifted his hand from the ground, holding the grainy soil in palm, whilst watching it drift from his and in a gentle and almost mesmerising way. The wind taking the minuscule pebbles in a wispy motion.

All be it, Gruul once more sat there, the weapon in Luradin's hand barely phasing the Jamoura, at least that is how he was making it out to be. He simply rested there, gathering his energy and thoughts and starting to hum a peaceful tune, yet something in his gaze put forth a almost sinister intention, as if all was not how it seemed.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Luradin on April 7th, 2013, 10:26 am

Luradin had begun to become frustrated at the Jamoura way of fighting, the way that Gruul would sit there apparently calm but also sinister as someone who was about to charge through him and everything behind him put his mind on edge.

He knew that he was almost forsaking himself if he fell into attacking the creature at melee range but he also had no skill in any ranged weaponry, he supposed that he could use a sai since he could not duel wield with them anyway yet.

Through past attempts and past viewing experiences he knew the fundamentals of knife throwing as much as someone might know the fundamentals of horse riding - sit on a horse and get it to run. His mind raced through simple mathematics that he knew from his schooling life, he was more guessing and estimating than actual working out any formulas but after some time he decided he was confident enough to throw the weapon with some confidence in the fact that it would hit at least. Luradin did not know whether the pointed long prong would hit him or the smaller knuckle part would but he ruled that both would have the desired effect on the combatant and neither would seriously injure him.

Luradin span the sai in his grip and gripped only the longest prong, he turned his body so that his side was almost aligned with the gorilla and then as he twisted and stepped forwards he loosed the baton-like weapon towards the gorilla's sternum, flying messily over itself it had gone slightly off course and was more likely to plunge into his right side of his breast.

Watching to see if his attempt at throwing the sai worked Luradin placed his hand to the remaining sai at his waist.

Gruul was focused, and such an attack was to be expected. Though Gruul himself had no experience with this specific kind of weapon, he knew something sharp when he saw one and when Luradin thought it a good idea to throw at him Gruul knew in his calm mind he either had to block it or move away from it. He worked on intuition alone and thankfully knew where he would go.

Having no means to block the incoming knife, Gruul had to take to his own means of defence, and decided to use his massive arms to almost hurl himself around the other side of the giant oval boulder behind him. Shifting himself to the other side of it, so as to in fact be hidden from Luradin. He chuckled, almost attempting to mock Luradin in to loosing his temper.

Gruul once again sat by the rock. Having heard the knife ping off the side of the obelisk where he originally stood, and once more waited, alert and ready for anything in his mind, whilst constantly looking for some kind of means of transportable defence.
