While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Muddied irises trailed over the supple rises and falls in the terrain. Parched soil, whose dark brown grains were easily displaced beneath the heel of her suede hunting boots. As the aurist glided along, the blistering leather soles left small indentations in their wake. The only sign that Aello had ever been, save for the subtle scrape of pine needles against the earth, which left slight harried lines, although it was near impossible to tell, unless one were to closely scrutinize the soil. As she wove her way in and out of the line of trees, Aello made a point to step over fallen branches, their twisted limbs with rounded knobs for ends reaching for her as the roots slithered closer and closer. She avoided the fallen leaves of fiery shades, and dismal browns. Crackling as they fell away from central stalk. Although, it was near impossible to leave the fallen needles which blanketed the ground, although this lent to a softer step than treading upon anything else. As silently as she could manage then, the girl stalked through the forest, her fist tightening around the grip of her father's old bow as the folds of her simple blue dress ripple with the beat of her legs. The thundering of her heart. Although, it scarcely flowed freely against the slight creak of her camouflague armor, stolen off the corpse of a slaver shortly before her meeting with Catharsis and Lily; the other pycons. Yet, despite the added noise, the woolen cloak she wore over it seemed to do some to quiet. The hood pulled high over her head, to keep the wind from tousling her chestnut colored mane.

As she moved, the huntress kept her eyes down, trained on the path just ahead. Constantly looking for certain tell tale signs that an animal, or perhaps another being had passed through- droppings, a snapped twig, a bent lower branch. Fallen leaves in the underbrush, foot prints, among other things. But even as she searched with well trained eyes, she was unable to discern anything of particular interest, despite her keeping at it for several chimes whilst the sun beat down on her shoulders. Its golden rays filtering through the tree branches, left bare with the coming of the season, to cast long shadows across the forest floor. To add a certain level of warmth to the world, left cool by autumn's bitter air. Where did everything get to? Aello wondered. Surely not all the birds have made it to warmer climes of yet, and surely some of the animals that chose to wait it out have to come out of their hiding places to reach the food they stored for the coming seasons, if not hunt for something, as we are. Her thoughts came to a sudden halt as she rounded another bend, her head rocking back and forth as she did her best to scan every inch of terrain before moving on.

The huntress sighed. Maybe all of those animals got to everything good before I did, she thought to herself, as her fist tightened around the old bow.

OOCSorry this is all over the place. And generally pretty bleh.

Blood and Sparkles (Lessira)

Syna's light broke through the canopy, lighting upon the Konti's white hair and pale skin. Upon her back there was a small pack holding some supplies for travel, including food for a week as well as a few other useful items. Walking through brush and leaf Lessira pushed aside branches and limbs, pushing her way deeper into the wooded area until she found herself at a softly gurgling stream. Sighing she set her pack down next to a tree, then kneeled down to splash chilled water upon her face and arms. Shaking out her hair the girl looked up, pushing her fingers over her scalp to free any loose leaves or needles that had been caught there.

Lessira cupped her hand in the water, bringing it to her lips to take a few gulps, the cold water stinging as it traveled down through her and sending a shiver of energy through her body. Wiping the drops from her mouth she stood, stretching her arms high over head and smiling brightly at the sun's light above, "Good morning Syna. Say hello to Leth when you pass him by tonight." She chuckled, a soft sound that could only just be heard.

Lowering her arms she looked about the space, noticing she had found herself in a clearing of some sort. Tilting her head she moved to stand close to the tree where her pack rested, placing her hand gently upon the bark as she closed her eyes. Faintly Lessira wondered for the purpose of her coming to this place. Why had she traveled so far from the city where the wilds of nature were free to do as they will? In truth she was not sure, yet something... something had called her to venture forth beyond the walls of Syliras. Breathing deeply she tried to summon forth some form of explanation from her subconscious to explain this, yet nothing could be found.

Ever silent as it always is... Just as it always is when Leth does not reign within the sky.

She shook her head, No. No it is not silent. Can't you hear it? The flutter of a falling leaf, the soft beauty of a birds song. The sounds of the stream over the rocks, and the thrumming of life within the forest. Lessira smiled, It is not silent at all.

Stepping back from the tree Lessira breathed deeply, expelling her breath slowly as she pulled her arms and legs in, heels and palms together. Breathing in slowly once more she extended her left arm, lifting her leg with a steady patients so that she balanced upon one foot. Breathing out she lowered her raised foot so that her toes barely graced the ground, shifting her weight to one side as she twisted her arms and body in a slowly revolving pattern. IT was a strength building exercise, one that worked to focus the mind and synchronize the body. Agonizingly slow motions combined with steady and full breathing helped to focus Lessira's mind, while causing a sweat to break upon her brow as the ticks flowed into chimes. Focused as she was Lessira let go of the world around her, falling deep into the darkness of her mind as she tried to find that secret place within her, that part of her soul that held so many secrets about who she was and what she was supposed to do.

Blood and Sparkles (Lessira)

Postby Aello on November 23rd, 2012, 5:36 pm

Gracefully, the huntress glided along through the endless line of trees, her breath caught in her throat, just as her stomach moved with a clipped fluidity on the seventh mark of passing ticks. Her eyes darted back and forth as she continued her search, which, after several more chimes had led her into the corner of a relatively circular clearing inhabited by another being. One with a wavy white hair, about half a foot taller than she. Of lithe frame, seemingly less muscled, despite that which rippled just beneath her pale skin. Forehead lined by tiny scales which shimmered softly in the sun's light, as it refracted off the gathering salt beads. Her pale pink lips seemed to be stretched taut, and her eyes closed, unable to see her, although, she was certain, if she shifted the Konti very well might. Thus, Aello stood startlingly still, scarcely bothering to breath as her fist tightened around her bow, and her eyes grazed over the woman's form. Taking note of her peculiar balancing act. Perhaps she is meditating, the aurist thought to herself as she bent her legs at the knees, and delicately eased herself a little lower. Her thighs brushing up against the upper branches of a nearby bush. The tattered looking thing, grown bereft with the season, scratched at the folds of her simple attire. Forming creases which soon faded as the wing rustled them.

As she stood, poised, ready to spring should the need arise, Aello could not help but feel as though she were some predatory creature stalking its prey. You have been in this place for too long, she thought to herself as she picked her right foot off of the ground, and gingerly placed it back down a few inches ahead of where she now stood. The stranger did not seem to stir, lost as she was in her own progressions. Thus, the huntress ventured another step, and another, wondering how close she could get to her, get to her things before she opened her eyes and took notice of her continual presence within the clearing. Her heart beating a little faster now, pounding against her rib cage as she moved, the huntress found herself being egged on by her own emotions. Slowly, she made her way over to the girl's things, and, if having made it that far without being discovered, would bring her soiled right boot against her pack, knocking it over to see if anything would spill out. Before looking up, wondering if the Konti had noticed that either. As she did, she would draw her leg back, stand silently, poised. Watching, wondering, waiting.

If however, Aello was discovered on her way through the clearing, towards the woman's things she would stop dead in her tracks. As though she were some dear facing down the shiny metallic bolt of a crossbow aimed just between its eyes. She would hold her breath. Her chest would cease its soft rise and fall, as her thumb tightened around the grip. "Oh, hello," would be the only words uttered. A thin whisper, which rolled over her lower lip like water over the side of a cliff. A strain on the ears to pick up on, if the other bothered to truly listen. Some, she knew, were prone to bouts of mistrust, anger, and violence, for all she knew, the Konti could come after her as soon as she saw her prowling. But it was not often within their type to do such things, so the huntress was not particularly worried about any of that. Thus, she would simply offer a small smile, as though to assuage any potential fears, which she thought would be more likely in someone who did not seem as though they belonged out in the wilderness by themselves. Or had spent much time in the Wildlands, judging by the relatively clean nature of one's attire.

OOCSorry this post is phrased so awkwardly, I just didn't want to assume anything.
