Spring 1 513 AV
TAR took a moment to respond. The silence building in the room before it droned on in its emotionless monotonic voice ”Opening in Lab 45-E. Master seeking skilled apprentice. Position assigned and filled.” Moments later the man would hear the clunking and turning of gears and wheels as a smaller golem appeared to him. It was nothing special, just one designed to guide nuits and pulsers alike around the massive citadel as they got the hang of the layout of the place.
”Follow, Follow” it would say, rolling towards him then back as if the capture the mans attention. Once it recognized that the man was going to follow it the golem would roll on ahead, stopping at corners and when it got too far ahead of Rokia. ”Follow, follow” it would chime after every brief pause before it got going again. Further and further the golem lead the man through the maze of hallways and passages which was Sahova. The journey was long and took quite some time and they went down quite a number of stairs. Forty five floors to be exact.
The golem led the man to giant and imposing door made of steel. It looked larger than life, sturdy, as if it was meant to protect some great treasure. ”Arrived. Lab 45-E” the golem chimed before it went on its merry way leaving the man to stand outside the lab which he was called to.
Inside the lab the nuit, Rayage, would be hard at work writing her latest theories in which she had yet to test. She wanted to transmute metal onto plants to create a new species of plant altogether. It would be useful in creating a renewable source of metal for Sahova, and that could prove to be invaluable. All one would have to do is filter out the plant properties, and bam, you have steel. Of course, she knew that it would be much harder than she made it sound and take many generations of growing the said plants to get it just right.
