Appearance:

The first things to be noted is the way he carries himself. With only a slight lurch to give him more of an intimidating stare, his posture is very straight and proud. His hair is shaped into a three striped mohawk with a meticulously cut half goatee. A tattoo, that is tribal in nature with various designs in some places, travels from the left side of his neck sprawling across his back to his right leg. Both arms share this tattoo under the arms coming around to highlight two words on his shoulders. "Them" and "Me". Various tallies on his right arm were cut by a knife making scars, covering his arm where he has "Me" tattooed. He only has three marks that have also been "scribbled" out on the "Them" left arm. Deeply tanned skin from being in the sun too long and many other various scars dot across his body that show bright pink in stark contrast. He also has his left ear diced up, but still attached. At his left wrist there is a scar where he appears to had been mangled by a vicious animal, as teeth marks are prominent with a patch of raised skin. Darvus has a simple tank top with the color being long forgotten under the massive stains of blood, animal or otherwise. His trousers are simple linens with a rope for a belt. Also including his backpack and other things.

Character Concept:

-Personality

Darvus is a man that embodies many things and most that are evil. He's a confused individual that blurs the lines of good and evil and believes there is no difference in the two. What he does acknowledge is love and hate. Hate corrupts, and he intends to corrupt every person he can into blind hatred. He often makes himself out to being worse than the devil gods that inhabit this world.

-Likes

Darvus is a sucker for cookouts on the beach under a moonlit night as the waves from the ocean come crashing onto the shore as he makes sand castles. He in fact had taken a pair of children out on a moonlit night on the beach where he proceeded to barbeque one and force-fed the other parts of her peer. After which buried her in the sand up to her head as he made a sandcastle and waited for high tide.

-Ethics

Okay, I just described his ethics above. He has no reserve, no morals, and no real ethics.

-Dislikes

He has few dislikes, but any sort of order is a good place to start this list. He hates men and much prefers a woman's company, but truly endeavors to make a man suffer more than a woman. He loathes those that try to suppress him and will make those that chain him pay dearly in attacking the family of the one whom would lock him up first, then attack the disheartened and broken person.

Lores:

-Animalistic Intimidation-

-Coyote's Escape-

Telal "Darvus" Xul

Postby Darvus on April 10th, 2013, 11:13 pm

History:

Among many turbulent histories that Mizahar can generate and create hate, animosity, and madness, Telal is only one of those that aspired to be truly evil. But really, for Darvus, born Telal Xul, good and evil is a blurred line like beauty in the eye of the beholder.

He started life, as most do, with a father and mother. They were a fairly lovely couple that lived in a very special city where everyone's prayers were heard, and everything was just so peachy perfect!

Ravok.

Though Darvus' parents loved each other dearly, they grew to fearful for their son as he grew older. This was because Darvus' parents didn't worship Rhysol, but were part of the anti-Ravok organization, the Rising Dawn, then under a different name. Why were they overbearing, you ask? From a young age, he would "act out" and truly try to "harm things". He would go into "mad frenzies" when he didn't get his way. They were certain the Voice was influencing him and felt they were running out of time to save their son's life.

They tried everything to stop him from being social with other children of Ravok. They resorted to home schooling and only made trips out with him on rare occasions.

The original safe house was frequented, but not unwatched by Rhysol or the Voice.

...This is where the story gets interesting...

During a sort of exorcism for, then 8 year old, Telal. The members tried to summon any Gods to help save this child. Something answered. The deep voice if Lhex bellowed through this small shack.

Lhex spoke to those that were gathered here, what they themselves did not know, they were all hearing different things. No one spoke to each other out of suspicion. Telal's parents whisked him away from the town and into the outskirts. They were afraid now and Telal didn't understand why.

Into the night his parents took him out into the darkness. Jerking him to hurry quicker, he knew the woods were dangerous and he'd never stepped foot outside of Ravok. His parents took him so far out into the woods until they felt he was safe from the evils of the city. They chained him to a tree so he could not escape and left him there for years, while giving him foods and water to survive.

Over the years, his father built a roof over his head and even sprang for making walls and a door eventually. Telal avoided being food for hungry wolves and other animals miraculously by learning their body languages and how to portray himself as another predator. The longer he sat chained like a beaten dog, the more he felt he was becoming an animal. One day when his father brought him food, his mind was so far gone, he was growling and snapping.

He was 16, after 8 years of being shakled to the same tree with a makeshift building around him, he gained a "friend". From the darkness of the night, just outside of vision it seemed, a voice was heard. It was a woman's voice that was kind and sweet and seemed concerned for Telal. Many nights passed as the woman continued to lather him in pity and wished she could help him escape to see the world. Telal took these words to heart and began asking her about the world outside of what he knew.

For weeks, after dark, she would return to lift his broken spirit and soothe his mind. Until one day, the voice in the dark began to break him down.

"You are nothing in this world, but a pet kept on a leash. Maybe your parents are right in keeping you here. Maybe they need to put you down. Real men take care of their problems with a blade than their teeth and claws."

That night was the night his only friend seemed to abandon him as well as his parents.

Night after night, he would endure this. Constantly questioning himself, worrying if he had become an animal or a man. Night after night was wrought with more pain and more pain began to make lubricant for the cogs in his brain. He argued at first and then took to howling, howling then was pressured into screaming.

He writhed around violently until the day

Telal "Darvus" Xul

Postby Darvus on April 10th, 2013, 11:13 pm

History Continued:

the day came he couldn't take anymore, he scratched onto his arm with his nails two marks that later left scars. That night, he only saw a pallid and milky white arm reach to place a small knife just outside his reach. The voice spoke that final time in a low hiss.

"Reach it... Reach for the blade and prove you are man..."

His eyes were wide and filled with excitement. He only had to break free and put to rest his suppressors. He reached until a few hours away from dawn when he then decided to be animal and man.

He began gnawing at his own wrist that was chained. He gnawed viciously and didn't stop until the tight shackles came to slip lower onto his arm. Less skin held the cuff and blood made for good lubrication, but it still wasn't enough to have his hand slide out. His madness left him numb to the pain and dug his fingers deep into the broken skin and started to disassemble the foundations of his hands. What bone he couldn't reach with his fingers he savagely shattered using sheer force and momentum against the solid tree he has called warden all those years.

His hand, now like rubber, slipped right out of the shackles. With his only good hand, he snatched up the knife and hid among other trees near his makeshift cage and tended to his bleeding wound until the next day.

Telal waited in painful patience for his father to bring table scraps into the night. Waiting... Waiting for the moment to spring his trap. And just in time strolled his father down the way he normally came, just before dusk. His father peered into the shelter to find his son was no longer chained up, Telal used the momentary stun to his advantage and put the knife to his father's neck. However, Telal did not kill him there, he made him into a guide.

Back through the trail and to the family home, Telal saw his mother for the first time in years. As she screamed, Telal matched the volume and pitch with a smile as his father's blood then flowed. Maniacal laughter was heard from the Xul household that evening from neighbors and passerby alike. Telal "marked out" the two deep scratches in his arm with the knife soiled in his parents blood. He walked right out of the "peaceful" town that night without an alarm raised.

Not much is known beyond the time he was swallowed by the darkness of Ravok's forest that night. What is known is he renamed himself Darvus and became a something of a bandit. What is unclear are random musings about him involving cannibalism, his incarceration and escape from Hai, and affiliations with other criminal organizations. What is known is he took up the profession of being a slaver and kidnapper, his trademarks are cutting fingers off (namely off of children) and forcing them to write a "Help Me" letter with the bloody nub. When they are done, he keeps the severed fingers as trophies.

He is referred to as "The Bad Man" namely by kidnapped children. He is referred to as the "Boogie Man" by the way he exploits fears of his victims.

Hi there.

Your CS is looking good, but there are just a few things I need you to change before resuming play:

  • Firstly the link to your character sheet leads to a 404 error. Please check you've got the hyperlink correct in your profile settings.
  • Lores: I would suggest renaming them. Lores shouldn't need explanations in brackets afterwards.
  • Housing: This is the main issue. You do not list where you are living. While I can see you have a tent, where are you staying with this? If it's in the wilderness you would need the Wilderness Survival skill to survive. If you intend to live in the tent within Zeltiva please note this is not allowed by the city guard.

PM me when you're done and I'll remove this. Feel free to PM any questions regarding this intervention or your character sheet too. Thanks. :)

Forms:

-Formless-

Makeshift mockery where a truly untrained individual can make use of the various levels with no added effects. The fighter may take from any known stance from any other style or could fight having their hands at their sides/sword dragging behind them.

-Earth Stance-

A stance that is purely defensive. The fighter "grounds" himself, keeping knees bent and feet far enough apart to make the fighter stand firm. Blades are held pointing directly at the attacker, while hands are kept in a cross in front of the vital areas. The energy doesn't travel outwards normally, instead its used to transfer energy into armor or weapons to weaken or break. This is taught to those at competent skill levels.

-Fire Stance-

You guessed it, this one is offensive. Knees are a little more lax, but still apart to give mobility. The blade is held pointing downward to the ground and behind the fighter. Giving the appearance of being fluid with motions, this is not the case. Power from both blade and hand are absolute, but are very basic moves. The Fire Stance grants the fighters flow of energy and sometimes momentum to be more forceful than other stances, making a novice level daze knock someone down and into a trance. Can be taught at competent levels.

-Wind Stance-

A stance designed for evasion. The legs are made to be limber to allow pivotal motions to be easier. With swords, the hands are loose on the hilt and allow for a whipping motion and held like the fire stance. Unarmed combat is slightly different, both hands are open with palms out. The dominate hand being closer to the body, guarding the solar plexus, the off hand is extended out to be used to strike with quick motions. The forces within help increase the burst from the wind sheer by another multiple of 2. This is taught at expert skill, due to the nature of the stance.

-Water Stance-

Both sword and hands are relaxed with tip/s pointed downward. Fluid motion is utmost in this stance incorporating all stances strengths and weaknesses. The Water Stance has a special attribute of its own which is within the calming process making their bodies absorb certain blows, resulting in the fighter unharmed. Can be learned at mastery levels.
