Training for the Future

Spring 51 513 AV

Location: The shore of Syliras/Svefra camping grounds

Eight bells rang in the distance waking Lucy. She had stayed in a tent that one of the Svefra had let her use. She got up quietly not wanting to wake it's owner and squinted at the morning sun as she stood up on the beach. She slid on her black boots not caring if there was sand in them or not since her white pants were already speckled and stained. She raised her arms in the air in a stretch then reached in her left pocket. She pulled out a silver ring that was shaped like waves. She slipped it on her left hand ring finger and went to see if any of the Svefra needed help. All turned down her request but one suggested that she learn how to fight. He had pointed her in the direction of a massive pile of weapons then left her there.

She grabbed the first thing that interested her which was a long sword. She held it awkwardly unsure of where to put her hands. 'How do people swing these things around like they're nothing?' She felt holding the sword more comfortable in her left hand. She held it out straight and slashed the air in a downward motion. 'This is kinda fun!' Lucy smiled a bit and began slashing the air a bit wildly but was careful to stop when others passed by so not to hurt them or embarrasses herself.

Training for the Future

Perc had already been up since daybreak. Though not exactly by his own choice.
“Bloody syna should keep her rays to decent hours.” The squire grumbled as he unsheated his bastard sword, holding it in a single hand as he tried to remember the sword drills his patron had showed him once. He really had been kept busy with his dagger work and his axe to put much attention to the bastard sword.

'I think a downward slash followed by an upwards one. Or something like that anyway' Perc though too himself. Didn't matter if it wasn't anyway, he was still getting used to using the broadsword.
He akwardly held the blade in front of him, trying to grip the sword so he would have some kind of control with one hand.

The squire started of with the downwards swing, it seemed the easiest place to start. He put to much force behind the blow though and he buried the tip of the sword in the soft sand of the beach. He let out a small sigh of irritation as he pulled it out.

Perc spend an entire bell trying to get both the downwards slashes and upwards ones down. With mixed success. When he acidentally managed to plant his sword in the sand and let it slip out of his fingers.
“Oh petch it.” He muttered underneath his breath as he picked his sword back up. Ignoring the few laughs from the svefra who saw it. He decided this probably would be a good time to take a small break before he made a bigger fool out of himself.

As he was sitting to the side he saw lucy swinging a longsword around. With just a smuch grace and success as he had. He walked over.
“Hello, lucy. Working hard?” He said with a big smile on his face. “Need any help with training? I don't know much about how to fight with a sword either, but at least I can be a sparring partner or something.”
