21st of Spring 513av Midday Syren had left on a hunting trip and caught quite a fair amount of game. The usual couple of rabbits and a possum were accompanied by a small bare. He was quite satisfied with his catch, already having returned with it to his camp. He'd put away his traps and his short bow and set out for a strol. It had only just passed mid day, and the weather was cool and pleasant. It was a lovely day. Syren walked around the outskirts on Endrykas, pace slow and ambling. He kept the farthest most tents on Endrykas in sight as he walked. Meliyah had opted to stay home. She was in the middle of a drawing that was taking her a long time to complete, so she had stayed to finish. So, a little disappointingly, Syren had gone alone. Some days Syren was cheeful, others, not unlike this day, he felt unhappy. He would delve into his memories. He would feel the ache in the pits of his stomach as he remembered and missed everyone he had known and loved in the past. It was a nagging sensation at the back of his mind, one that he'd learnt to push away, but it was always there. There were a few potential friendships forming lately though. With the silent Drykas who had said he was a hunter, when Sy asked for his name. Then there was the very loud Drykas who he had promised to see again. He'd even been bold enough to suggest a future friendly Spar. He smiled to himself as he thought about how that would go down. The guy looked real tough, and talked a big game, but holding his own in a match against him was something Syren thought he could achieve. Syren stopped, and looked up at the clouds that lazily drifted above him, lost in his thoughts. What had he been thinking coming out here anyway, there was nothing to do. He didn't feel like practicing his skills, not alone anyway. But what else was there to do here? The boy sighed heavily and looked around. No one milling around that he could see as of now. Syren huffed and turned around. He began ambling back towards his camp, in no hurry. Secretly he hoped something interesting would happen to distract him from going home. |
