Appearance
Ruby has the appearance of a girl nearing her bloom, with her slender figure and pert breasts. She keeps her physical fitness by doing exercises every morning, thus resulting in a body strength level that of a mountain hiker.
Despite her calm and composed air, the emerald eyes gave her a certain mysterious intensity, though it's only felt when her eyes are met. Her lips are set in a slight smile by default, since her straight face are commented on being too 'lifeless' during childhood.
The most distinct feature is the way she walks. Her back is always elegantly straight and her head slightly bowed in humility. She steps delicately and softly, but these features are from her childhood, and betrays the bold soul inside.
Although she doesn't mind being recognized as non-human, she tries her best to conceal the defining features, most often by wearing long sleeves to cover her scaled hands, boots for her webbed feet, and gloves for her webbed fingers to confuse people, just for the laughs. Though the forehead is not scaled, she often wears a broad-brimmed hat too, for the same reason.
Her hair had been colored for so long that she doesn't remember the original color. However, the pale hue still stands out which explains the gleaming, silvery feel.
Personality
Ruby has a kind, gentle soul, but her mother taught her a strong sense of duty and discipline. Like her nomadic mother who takes pleasure in sharing knowledge wherever needed, she lacks a sense of belonging and loyalty which results in an uncommon semi-vagabond-like Konti, as expressed by her (and her mother's) favorite line "My loyalty is to a cause, none else." An exception is her fondness of her Konti roots.
During her childhood, she was boisterous. Though she's calmed down lately, her outspoken personality hasn't changed much, only expressed in a more mild manner. She is so open-minded that she despises the concept of racism itself. A strong sense of justice hardens her moral convictions which has guided her well through difficult times.
Friends are treasured by her, and she will not hesitate to travel distant lengths to help a friend in need. However, she also inherits her mother's tough, resilient mental, so she refrains herself from helping others by the saying "What doesn't kill you makes a stronger." Small gestures of kindness like giving water to a thirsty company still appeals to her, however.
Constant vigilance are mandatory due to a major event in her past, which will be described in detail later on. She forces herself to keep a subtle distrust to everybody. Because of the distant attitude, she has few close friends, though the warm and friendly front is liked by many.
Contrast to others, she doesn't smile and tends to be more melancholic and shy in the company of close friends. Her attempts at hiding apparent emotions due to her shyness are considered sweet and cute, especially the blushing face.
History
She was born of an adventurous mother and an unknown father. Her mother was an excellent seer, and believes that it is her duty to roam the lands and provide where needed. When her mother decided that it was time to settle, Ruby asked to be left in the care of her mother's friend to sate her thirst for adventure. She was then took in by a caravan looking to start a new city.
Months later the caravan returned, half dead or missing, the rest shaken and badly wounded. It is after this event that she became more composed and calculating. Afterwards, she settled in Avanthal, thinking the cold climate would cool her head down, aside from the serene feeling she gets from the pure white landscape.
