"Uh... It's cold..." Berukansstel's eyes shot up as she rose up from her bed, shuddering. She was staying at the Traveler's row, rented a simple room during her stay in Syliras as she needed to save as much money as possible to further her research. But damn, this place is cold... too cold for a Dhani who had been spending a century of her life in the hot Eyktol desert.

At moments like this, she missed the days where she could just slither out of the nest and basked in the hot glowing sun, warming her body. "....I know, I'll j-j-just warm up in t-t-the... woods..." At least the Bronze Woods have more sun than this closed-up room. Shuddering in the cold, Beru slowly got up and put on her dress.

Should I bring my weapons? Hmm... perhaps I should, better be safe than sorry... Beru strapped on her sleeve bracers equipped with spring-bladed stilletos, a hidden weapon of hers. Should I bring my venom vials...? Nah... I don't think so... She decided she would not have to use her venom today and didn't equip her thigh bracers. Picking up her favorite cold iron longsword resting on the wall, she unlocked her door, got out of her room, closed the door, and locked it back. She left her backpack in her room as she didn't plan on doing any poison research activities today.

"Huff... Great Mother Siku, please bless your child today..." After saying prayers to Siku for safety, Berukansstel started to head outside the city, specifically to the Bronze Woods.

4 Bells later, 7th of Bell

"Hmmm, that's a good place..." Beru found herself at a clearing with some rocks in it. The sun's light was clear and abundant in the clearing, undisturbed by the trees. "Haaaaaaah~ Nice!" She stretched herself at the thought of finally getting a good warm rest. "Now then..." Beru walked to a nearby flat top rock, put her sword near it, and started to undress. She was going to transform and while her viper form was smaller than her human form, she still wouldn't do it before properly undressing and folding the precious dress given by her mother.

Her naked skin glowed in the sun's light and Beru now could feel the full force of the warmth. "Aaah... now this is... paradise..." Neatly putting her wing-shaped cloaks and dress on top of the rock. Beru proceeded to transform into her Viper form, her limbs fusing and shiny black scales appeared across her whole body.

After half a chime of transforming, the white-haired woman could no longer be seen, a black cobra replacing her. Berukansstel hissed in satisfaction as she slithered to the top of the rock, using her cloak and dress as pillows. She curled up her body and began to slowly let sleep took over her.

[Bronze Woods]Lightning Venomous Strike (Cyrus)

Postby Cyrus Blackfire on April 25th, 2013, 11:27 pm

Cyrus had returned to the clearing early today, it was time for him to test his abilities yet again. The tall warrior made his way through the Bronze Forest easily, he knew the route to this clearing like the back of his hand by now. He was dressed in his signature banded mail armor and had his greatsword strapped easily to his back. His use of magic had been interrupted yesterday, however it was not all bad considering what he had gotten out of it.

Today would be different, today there would hopefully be no distractions. There would be no use of lightning or fire today, much too risky given his surroundings. Wind, however, would not be overly dangerous and could provide a good gauge of his limits so far.

The man stepped into the clearing, his mind already going through his plan for today. Due to recent... disturbances in regards his magic he intended to utilize incantations that his mother had made him memorize early in his training. The words were in Symenos, the tongue of the deadly Symenestra whom he possessed very little knowledge regarding, unfortunately. His mother was tight lipped as to how she learned the language, but then she was rather tight lipped about quite a few things. Such was her way he supposed.

He stood in the middle of the clearing and exhaled heavily, extending a gauntleted hand out before him. This accomplished his focused on the nature of the very air around him, pushing aside the other sights and sounds around him. Slowly he began the chant in his limited command of Symenos.

"The strong survive and the weak fall by the wayside. Knowledge is power and it must be guarded carefully. Power is the mean to achieve victory, only through it can one truly be set free." He said haltingly as the chant came back to him.

It was a simple thing but it was also the creed of his mother, the words possessed some meaning and gave him focus. Slowly he exhaled a small cloud of res before him and began attracting the air to it, his chanting steady and smooth. The drain was far less terrible than it had been yesterday, in fact the res flowed rather smoothly today. The desire to give more was lessened by his incantation, nothing but a dull throb in the back of his mind.

When he felt that enough air had been attracted Cyrus willed the gust of wind outward before him, sending it flowing heavily towards the trees.

"Ssss~" Berukansstel let out some contented snore-hiss as she enjoyed her warm slumber basked in the sunlight, the comfort was so great that she didn't notice the sounds of metal armor clanking and footsteps even though her hearing was enhanced in her viper form.

Oh her comfort was so great that she didn't heard the deep male voice chanting a spell in a foreign language, but anyone not unconscious or the effect of a sleeping poison will be woke up when a strong magical gust of wind blew out from the man, violently sang through the air and caught everything and everyone unfortunate to be in its radius. Unfortunate indeed as one of those 'everyone' was Berukansstel.

"WHAT THE PETCH?!!" Berukansstel hissed in snake-tongue as her eyes shot up and she found herself waltzing violently through the air. Her serpentine body coiling uncontrollably as she struggled to gain footing, but she was not a bird kelvic nor a Zith and as such, she couldn't do anything but throwing curses in snake-tongue.

"GAAAH!!" She let out a pained loud hissing groan as her body crashed into a tall tree. "Uuuh..." Her reptilian eyes tried to focus herself as she spotted a piece of... metal was hurling towards her. *STAB* !!!? She hissed in shock as the piece of metal narrowly missed her and stab the ground just a few inches from her body. The 'meta' was her own cold iron longsword, its long cold metal edges glinting in the sun light as if mocking its own owner after trying to kill her.

"..........!? My dress?!" She let out a hiss full of despair as she saw her dress stuck on a tall branch on the tree she crashed into. W-what the hell happened?! Who's the one responsible?! Beru's reptilian eyes searched around until it finally locked itself into a... man. A tall well-built man with bald hair, dark stubble, and dark eyes. He was wearing metal armor and a greatsword strapped to his back.

"........" Beru went silent at the figure before her. Alright... keep calm, what was he going to do? If he tried to kill me, he would do so earlier... I should talk to him first... Beru slithered to behind a tree and began transforming herself to her human form. Hoping that in the half a chime it took to transform, he wouldn't notice her... yet.

[Bronze Woods]Lightning Venomous Strike (Cyrus)

Postby Cyrus Blackfire on April 26th, 2013, 12:34 am

Cyrus was rather pleased by the results of the spell, the drain on his Djed had certainly been felt but it was no where near as bad as it was in recent times. He sighed and started his chant again, gathering the remaining res left in the air to him. The air drew up sharply as it was attracted to the gaseous res, flowing near him and sending his cloak flying out behind him. He launched the gust in the same direction as before, rather unaware of what was in that particular direction.

The warrior loved the thrill of letting off a spell, there were few things more satisfying and empowering than warping the forces of nature to one's will. The desire to continue his casting was there but Cyrus abstained from it, albeit with far more difficulty that he had previously. Even the chants had their limits and it was all to easy to slip into overgiving as he had done do recently. He did not generate any further Res, deciding that this was proof enough of the chant's capacity for making the casting more easy.

Instead he unstrapped his greatsword from his back, set it down on the ground at his side and knelt down with closed eyes. He was not the best at finding inner peace or tranquility by any stretch of the imagination, but his mother had often stressed the importance of meditation to him. It certainly couldn't hurt, he needed every advantage he could find when using magic.

He breathed in deeply, trying to clear his mind of distractions and focus on one thing. Unfortunately it was more difficult than advertised, much more difficult, especially considering the desire for more magic use crawling about in his mind. The more he focused on crushing that urge the more thoughts seemed to rise up from his mind. It was rather frustrating to say the least.

He prided himself on possessing an iron will that could be used to resist nearly any temptation. Unfortunately this appeared to be quite difficult to pull off. Cyrus would just give up however, he intended to get this down before leaving.
